    nice series... I just brought AC/DC converter and seems to work, the only downsize is that the output is not constant (not heaving a battery), and I still cant run a fan.

      Nice! Great job! I never added a fan (but should have). Thanks for watching and for the feedback 👍

      @@anesthesiadreamin you bike does not overheating? Almost every ride the coolant is boiling, this is one of the reason I might buy a newer bike with DC and e-starter...also I am wondering, do you have weight on the flywheel or just as in video? Sow at some guy a big weight and considering adding one...

      @@2WheelDernessI did not use the flywheel weight with this bike, but have on others. flywheel weight will definitely give you more torque and minimize stalling. Also my bike never boiled over. I did monitor the coolant temp and it rarely overheated.

    I have a 1998 GG EC 250 and I’m trying to do a dc conversion.
    My bike has Two stators - one is for a lighting coil - has a yellow wire and a red wire - also has the white wire that dead ends .
    So my stator is different from yours . The second stator or main stator that runs the CDI and ignition.
    But can’t I just run the yellow and red from the lighting coil to the rectifier/ regulator? I cannot find any videos on it or wiring diagrams.

      Yes, I would think that would work. What I would do if I were you to make sure, is contact trail tech, Tell them something like I think I need your rectifier but here's my setup, am I on the right track? They helped me a lot 👍

    What would happen if you left the lights grounded to the frame on this mod

    • @anesthesiadreamin
      @anesthesiadreamin  8 років тому

      the mod is lifting the ground from the frame to create DC power so u can run the existing AC for the ignition and new DC for the lightsand accessories... DC and AC cannot share a ground because of the different waveforms they produce. So the AC side of the system (ignition) stays grounded to the frame and the new DC side of the system gets the ground lifted and attached to the new battery. b sure to look at the references at the end of the video they are really helpful

      Was the battery grounded to the frame or any other source of ground

    • @anesthesiadreamin
      @anesthesiadreamin  8 років тому

      no it didnt have a battery when everything was AC power...i added the batt when i converted the lighting side of the stator to DC, so only then was the lighting side grounded to the battery. the DC lighting side now is "floated" so it is not attached to the frame any longer.

      Hi, I have an XC300R 2T 2013 and I'm trying to do the same but I think the elecrical system on my bike It's another one and I don't need to make the magneto ground be floated, because the eléctrical diagram shows the rectifier and battery grounded on the electric start model. Sorry about my english and greetings from Chile.

      test your stator, and your voltage regulator. If you can't find a problem with either, ask on gasgasrider dot org

    I am curious why your bike keeps burning up your voyager? I have been running one on a 2011 for a year now with no problems. Doesn't trail tech even say that the voyager will run on AC power? I have heard elsewhere of people having this issue. I wonder why it is a problem on some bikes and not others.

      +memphis28571 Thanks for your comments...Yes they told me it would be fine on an AC bike. I don't know for sure why they were getting fried. In a future video I will be measuring the output of the floated stator, and it averages 25 AC volts at idle and as high as 55 revved. Of course that is pre-regulator. So I don't really know why some bikes have problems making clean AC power and others don't. Hey I love the 2011, it is my favorite bike of all time as far as looks, frame size, and ride-ability. Once in a while my buddy and I will swap bikes and I really like his 2011 EC300. Is yours a kicker or estart? I assume the kickers are still all AC for 2011?

      +anesthesiadreamin mine is the Race model so kick only. But it also has regulated voltage. The yellow wire behind the headlight mask is regulated voltage. Maybe this is the difference? I love my 2011 even though I am a little big for it. I was actually planning to buy a 2016 this year but we all know how that turned out :(

      @@garyjones122 Hey thanks for watching and for your comments! I would encourage you to do it just because it opens up so many good LED lighting options that are super reliable. We were riding in NM high desert yesterday and got back to the trailer in the dark, and the headlight I have on it was amazingly bright. The further you can see the faster and safer you can ride. The tail light works perfectly. Since I installed it I haven't had one single problem with the setup. TrailTech makes some good stuff! Anyhow good luck and cheers from frozen Colorado
