  • Sharing my insights from Japan's healthy lifestyle! 🌸 During my visit, I've noticed some interesting habits that help them stay healthy:
1️⃣ Mindful Eating : People here take time to sit down and truly enjoy their meals, paying attention to each delicious bite. 🍽️
2️⃣ Hot Drinks : Instead of cold beverages, they often choose warm soups which are soothing and said to be good for digestion. 🍵
3️⃣ Portion Control : They eat just the right amount, avoiding overeating by listening to their bodies. 🍲
4️⃣ Probiotics : Foods like miso and natto are regular parts of their diet, believed to help keep their stomachs healthy. 🥣
Which habit would you consider trying? Let me know in the comments!

I was also in Japan. Few things that I observed there:
    1. People prefer walking a lot and take steps rather than lift. Or stop one station before the office. Whatever gives more reason to walk, they do that.
    2. Yes portion size is extremely important. They eat (keep munching every few hours) a lot but keep it very limited in quantity.
    3. Green tea is their go to item most of the time.
    4. Both - what u r eating and how much r u eating is equally important there.
I think these are very basic things they follow to remain very fit and healthy. Thry may not have muscles or stromg body but still very slim and healthy. Both men and women

People in Japan prefer to do manual work. They do not have servant/maid culture, especially cleaning their toilets regularly, because they believe that clean toilets in any house is auspicious. In India, servant/maid culture has destroyed the very basics of good/peaceful living.

One main reason for their longevity is also eating fish at all times. They don’t have this vegetarian or vegan culture and entire country eats their deficient vitamins or proteins as per the required quantity and without any food restrictions. So i think this is one of the main reason. The tour guide told me this that everyone eats fish and meat.

Probiotics, mindful eating & warm water with meals is part of our original bharatiya Samskriti. So if you continue to follow that and promote that , we could be a healthy nation.
In Kerala, the older generation especially still continue these practices and are very healthy.

Longevity of the Japanese people has more to do with their resilient genes and mixed diet high on fish and veggies. Besides, the clean air and clean water and affluent lifestyle adds to it. However, Japan has a stressful work culture contributing to a higher than average rate of mental disorders and suicides.

    Mindful eating is a must.

When i lived in Japan, just going to my office and returning, with change of trains, walking to the station and station to office or home, required walking about 6 kms. Most Japanese go through this everyday. Add to this the number of stairs you climb without taking the escalator. You don't even have to worry about the type of food.

    😊Indian food is not in itself unhealthy. Most food uses fresh veg and meat consumption is limited. The problem with Indian food is ;
    1) Portion size
    2) Cooking method, usually fried or cooked with alot of oil
    3) The food is heavy on the stomach.
Exercise would help quite a bit a well.

Clean and healthy climate throughout the year (aqi below 50)
They both reached 100, also grandfathers closest sister and brother lived 92 and 96...

Indian traditional home food is equally good. We have jeera water,Pani appetizers and kashay with food. Also curd, buttermilk, Ragi ambali etc.as probiotic , vegetable salads for fiber . panner , channa , dal etc. for protein. Unfortunately Indian people have forgotten their home and got addicted to advertisement foods like in US.

I never indulge in eating while walking or travelling.
Second I have recently started eating in limited portions.
Adding a hot drink seems a good option. But as Indians our practice has been less. Need to
    Pickup this habit.
Use of probiotics like curd is not regular, but I always have a glass of butter milk in the night every day. Curd may once in 2 to 3 days. May be I can make it to once every day.

I have also stopped having cold drink. I just have water. Mindfully I have transformed my whole food habit , like I eat more protein and I have reduced having junk food by replacing those foods that are made in a good way

I think there are lots of cultural differences between japan and India and also our population is world's highest as compared to Japan,it also depends on economic sectors of a country and standard of living in our country mostly population is middle and lower class so implementing these requires lots of awareness and development to tackle the situation so we should make changes that can be applied to our country not others

If we Indians would revive our local diverse dietary habits & cuisines which all evolved naturally over centuries just like the Japanese do their own rejecting fast food & outside food influences then we can be as healthy as them in our own way or even more.
