Well that’s me now all caught up, I have watched nearly every video on your channel over the course of about a week or so. I have enjoyed it all quite a lot. I love your sense of humour, your projects and the energy you put into it all. You stated you didn’t know what to do with all those glass panels your personal Santa brought you, but maybe you could give the greenhouse an extension? There is a channel called ambitionstrikes, that might interest you, they have built things to give machinery new life with extra jobs. Like adding a snow blower onto an old army truck, that they had also converted into a dump truck! They also did some firewood cutting with a massive rented machine (wonder if you could build one lol) and had someone bring their saw mill over and make lumber for them (that was a fancy mill, might give some ideas for upgrades). I subscribed about half way through and now will enjoy watching your continued progress with your homestead. Love your work man, but do please look after yourself and of course your family. 🇬🇧

The individuals LEDs are in series. If one LED goes out, the whole string goes out. If you open up the fixture and short out one LED at a time you can find the bad one(s). Solder around the bad ones and it should be able to work again.

That's why I prefer sliding doors or inward opening doors. If you go with a sliding door, put it inside the building instead of the outside. You loose some wall space but it opens even with snow built up against it. You could always hang stuff on the inside of the door if you bracket it right so nothing fall when moving.

You need another diesel furnace. You could keep it portable and fire it up when you need to heat a vehicle. Use one of the duct hoses to flow the hot air into the engine compartment. Of course I would also plug in a block heater for the colder days which should be on all the equipment that you need in the cold. Those and a heated dip stick to help heat the oil would ease the starting. Over the road long haul truckers use diesel heaters that are plumbed into the cooling lines which keeps the cab warm as well as the engine as the coolant circulates the heat throughout the block. That way they can pull over and sleep when they have worked their maximum hours even though they are away from electricity. Espar is one brand although high priced and short lived. Some of the chinesium diesel heaters are also for warming the water like the Espar. Webasto is another, again pricey.

It is possible to modify hinges to rise as they open, the door then misses the ground or snow and ice that accumulates. The downside is that you have to provide some way to hold the door open. I made a self closing cattle gate this way and it is still working after 10 years.

43:45 I think it is. The problem is either too much current to the LED or bad quality components on the LED driver. Years ago I bought two 10W flood LED lights that had very nice warm white color and good amount of light. But they didn't last even in very occasional use. I think they worked about a year or two and then started flickering randomly or not turning on without hesitation. Then they both died. I didn't even use them outside, where they were designed to be used. The structure and materials were actually really decent quality, like the very thick glass, silicone gasket and beefy aluminium basket. They were nicely sealed. But the electronics were crap. Almost all LED lights (for household use) I've bought have died in a year or two. I have got a few normal E27 or E14 LED lights replaced under warranty, as some of them come with a 3 year warranty. In one E14 lamp I took apart, there was a capacitor with 130 °C temperature rating and it still stopped working.

Ants You have a lathe. Learn to cut threads and make your own bolts as long as you need. Keep up the good work! For your monopod just weld a nut to the side of the large pipe then drill through. Then weld a t handle on a screw and you are in business.

An interesting video this week, I enjoyed it a lot. The snow looks beautiful, it transforms your whole space. Supermum is amazing, do you think she was looking for her tree 😂. I love the way you design things, and they work very well. I would put your workmanship up against Santa Claus anytime, everything you’ve done has been to a very high standard. Your work is excellent, just try and fix the rattle in the bobcat. Till the next one Ants,
    Have a good week 👍 10:37

@@Ants_Pants .. just wait until he starts mass producing them and every UA-camr will buy one or two from him. Then soon there will be a worldwide shortage of blue color spray cans because he uses all of them. 😆
