I've played 4 hours now with the Pure Strike VS. First two hours with MSV Focus Hex 1.23 Red and yesterday two hours with Luxilon Vibe 1.25, both around 23kg. First things first, this frame design is excellent for one-handed backhands. I haven't been able to dial-in with the slices yet, but that's on me - with some other rackets slices seem very easy like Pro Kennex Q+ Tour Pro, Angell TC95 V3 16*19 and Diadem Nova FS100. On the forehand side, one has to use very fast rackethead speed to get depth. It's not as underpowered as the Tecnifibre TF40 315 16*19, but it's less powerful than the Diadem Elevate V2 FS98. The Pure Strike VS with its tight 16*20 string pattern is great for flat hitting from the baseline. From the midcourt it's very whippy, but got better topspin from the Focus Hex than the Vibe. On the serves, the 2nd/slice serves are super easy to hit. Flat need very fast rackethead speed, as do the flat forehands. First impressions are very encouraging for me to keep it as my main stick. Some say it needs some added weight at 3 and 9, but that's too personal to judge, especially after only 4 hours.
Another odd racquet release from Babo. I'm sure most remember that there was a Pure Strike VS model released as part of the v2.0 of the Strike line. But these were repainted holdovers of the second gen Pure Control Tour line that was completely abandoned when the v2 Strike line was issued. Now comes a new VS, with a different beam design compared to the former Strike VS, issued two yrs after the rest of the v3 Strike line. Unless this new VS version is going to be repped on tour by Thiem or Cam Norrie, its difficult to see where Babo is going with this VS variant of the Pure Strike line. If they wanted a softer more arm friendly version of the Strike, just re-release the last gen Pure Storm Tour 16x20 with a modern more open drilling pattern to open up its tiny sweet spot and folks would be happy. -G
I bought and played with this racquet.... this is basically the spec the normal Prostaff should be or they should have a version of this. This is literally a prostaff you can spec cuz the original prostaffs are already heavy and stiff out of the box. The PSVS is good enough to play out of the box and as you move up in level you can spec it up if you want.
Good lord when are they actually going to release the damn racquet. It’s been getting reviewed since last December. It’s a beautiful racquet and I can’t wait to demo it
Free advice for anyone who wants this racquet. Replace the Babolat leather grip with the Tennis Warehouse Private Label leather grip, add weight to the hoop to your desire, and play with your string setup. The leather grip it comes with is awful, it hurt my wrist with how hard it was and I was really having to grip it hard to not have it slip out of my hand, even with an overgrip. But the TW leather grip is a totally different experience and works best with an overgrip. And against bigger hitters, this racquet does not hold up due to the low starting weight, so add weight to the hoop and throat to beef it up and make it more stable.
May I suggest that you invest in a good quality digital caliper from Mitutoyo for measuring the beams of the rackets you review. I measured the beam on a Yonex ezone 98 I am demoing and it is at least 1mm above the spec size! This would be great for you and your viewers (like me) 😊
I saw a TW video where they hinted at delays in the production. They didn't say what the problem is exactly, though. Maybe they're not at liberty to really talk about it.
Hye Harry @Tennis Spin, Maybe it's time for you to get a Vernier Caliper for the shop / channel? When you show / review all these racquets, it's awesome that you show the balance, weight, and swing weight. However we're always sort of left hanging bout the beam width... A vernier caliper could easily measure the beam! and even if that instrument haven't been calibrated in years or ever... It would still allow us to definitely know whether the beam is tapered or not. (Well at least well better that eyeballing it) If you are in need of a recommendation, the brand mitutoyo makes good calipers and there's even models with digital displays (meaning you don't have to bother on how to read the scale). Cheers & all the best
Hey Harry, so first of all, do we know the release date and the price? Ps. I’m in the UK rather than US. Also, what are the differences between this and the Pure Strike version 3 16x19 (not the tour) , lastly, what is the stiffness rating? Hopefully u can answer these for me, thanks, loving the content as always! 👍🎾
The upcoming VS has a 16/20 pattern, a 97 inch head, a thinner beam, a lower RA (think it's 63 or something), and around 310 or so grams unstrung. It's not really the same racket at all. More old school by its specs, more like the old Babolat Pure Control, whereas the gen 3 pure strike 98, 18/20 or 16/19, is very much a modern racket for the modern game.
@@sjjapp hey, where did u get this information from? And how accurate is it? Just ur saying u “think” the RA rating is around 63 and “around” 310 grams unstrung….
@@SteveWillDo91 various sources like tennis nerd and tennis warehouse forums, where a lot of juicy info can be revealed from actual pro setups to news and specs of upcoming rackets and other players demoing rackets. The RA I'd say is likely measured on average from sample people have actually gotten so far, and quality control is such that it won't always be the same. So I say about 63 RA partly because I don't 100% remember now but also because if it is the number I saw it popped up more than other numbers.
Babolat UK confirmed this week to me that the frame will be released in the UK on the 24th of March..I'm buying mine from Stringers World who are excellent..
Hey friend! I watch your videos here in Brazil, I really liked the Babolat Pure Strike VS racket. I think you have a store, can you sell me a Babolat Pure Strike VS (4 1/4)? This model hasn't arrived here in Brazil yet, it probably won't arrive for sale here. thank you!
still donno why they cannot sell the original aero pro drive, og pure drive. they did all these new things that dont work ! of course they are limited.
It wouldn't. If you have two of same racket and one has 16/20 and other has 16/19, the 16/19 would have more spin. Depends on actual string spacing as well. I imagine he meant more spin than an 18/20.

The Babolat Pure Strike VS 2022 was announced about 2.5 months ago by Tennisnerd. Now TennisSpin announces it. WHEN are they going to be in stores ???

Great video, when will you review CLASH V2?
98
If the Pure Strike VS is popular it will not be a limited edition.
Need a tour version and I'll be happy!
I think that's the best I've ever seen Harry hit.
Which is the advantage of a smaller head in rackets?
more control on the ball

Love it. Really. Amazing racquet! In my view, unbeatable in today’s market choices.
If you compare this grip size 3 to a wilson it is the same? Or should I buy a number 2? Thanks!
What about the Clash 100 V2? Waiting for your review 🤩….

"But I wasn't good enough to play with them" at least he's honest 😂
Let me guess...IT'S A GREAT FRAME....
Hello Harry, what kind of tension do you use on your tennis racket, and have you ever heard of HEAD Metallix Attitude Pro White Tennis Racket?
Solinco Confidential @ 48 lbs on a heavily customized Clash Pro.
Just ordered this racket! It was only 150 ! I Had Amazon points so it only cost me about $85.00 dollars!

Where the hell is the new pure aero? Does anybody know? It's 3 years since the last.
When is it coming out?
What does Mr. Gilbert think?
How does it compare to the pure aero vs
What strings n tensions were used
Love the vids but tbh I gotta playback at 1.5x no offense
Are you having trouble getting rackets and shoes etc
wilson 98? he meant 97 right, pro staff 97 315g?
why do they not have L1 grip sizes?
Hey friend!

thank you!
who cares how it plays, my lord that thing looks amazing!
it looks like shit
still donno why they cannot sell the original aero pro drive, og pure drive. they did all these new things that dont work ! of course they are limited.
How does this compare to the old pure aero vs which was also a box beam in 16×20?
I wish they would bring that racket back! It had a babolat style throat but a box beam which u can't find anything like it on the market.
AeroStorm
Please bay a digital caliper./Roger.
16x20!!!
A Little bit Shorter than anyother racaket,,, Not a 27in racket , Maybe?? 26.89?? inch
why would 16x20 give you more spin than 16x19 ?
It wouldn't.

I imagine he meant more spin than an 18/20.
I have a RF97 autographed at 340g and a Wilson hyper hammer at 240g. I find I can hit the ball pretty hard with the hyper hammer.
Babolat head guards are always the worst to install! The worst!
Let’s go
What’s happened to your other coach. Moved on?
Nah bro, too thick for my liking lets pray for next year
