Good one spicer. This will actually help my organic abstract bio-mechanoid work. Yeah, I know…but it’s fun putting all those words together to describe what I do.

Sure great, man. Spicer, is there any workflow with more curves and applying tube brush on just one curve? I saw in this video it works for you, but i have always the same result: tube is applied on all curves :)

I use frame mesh all the time, used it a lot on a previous character for stitching and piping, sometimes i prefer to use it with creases so i can control the edge loop where the curv is placed.

How do you control the distance of the crease edgeloop from the actual edge of the mesh? Can you control it?

    • @TheIcemanModdeler
      @TheIcemanModdeler 3 роки тому

A S Control like what, how sharp it is? U can set how many divisions it will keep it sharp or how to control from what edge to what edge? For that I either select edge by edge or edge loop, there maybe a shortcut like in Maya to control how many edges it creases.

@@TheIcemanModdeler No no. I meant, how far my crease can be placed from the edges so when I use *creased edges* option to frame mesh, I can place my IMM however far or close to the edge as I want.
For example in Blender you can add edge loops as hold edges for subdiv and decide its placement relative to the edges of the polyloop.
Something similar in Zbrush? Without using Zmodeler?

    • @KarelChytilArt

@@AS-ym2bp In B it works just like new edgeloops near that edge for sharpening. Sure in ZBrush you can slide edges or put edges near that edge (also with proper spacing or spacing depends on mesh) But Creasing in ZBrush is always exactly where the edges are. You have dots near that edge just for visualization. In Blender and other apps for polygon modeling there is that option but it doesnt matter for Frame mesh with imm curve. Sure you can insert edge near that base edge and crease that edgeloop or what you want .. and after Frame mesh you can easily uncrease it. In ZBrush you can also set how many subdivision levels will have that crease effect. BUt it is different usage that Frame mesh for sure. And thanks to Spicer!

I know this video is a few years old but i when i click, every where the polygroups meet has a curve applied at the same time. Is there something i got wrong or is that not meant to happen?

no matter which line I press i creates a tube all over the mesh on all the other lines even though i did not click them... any suggestions ?

Delete the ones you don't need after applying the brush curve.

So useful, thanks. Is it possible to use it for precise and complex bevels-chamfers, maybe using it along with the booleans?

This would be great, but when I click "frame mesh" nothing happens. This is what I did:
    - created Polygroups
    - in Curve Functions I enabled only "Polygroups"
    - clicked "Frame Mesh"
    nothing happens.
I also tried enabling Border and Creased edges, but nothing changes.
    Any suggestions?
