Im really enjoying this series, I love that it’s blind and you’re just figuring things out as you go, taking the time to read books, talk to NPCs, do quests, explore. It’s refreshing and fun to watch.
If you are low on healing potions, doing a level up will restore all your attributes including healing. PS: When you do a level up don't ignore the yummy perks you get as well.
Starts the main quest. Finds Farengar's quest books and books about lore. "What was I doing again?" Says everyone their first play through ever. Congratulations 🎉 you are officially a skyrim player!
Literally me. I’ve watched my bf play the game so when I finally started it still got me excited to play for the first time myself. I’m familiar with the story for the most part but the side quests is what gets me side tracked every time!
Two tips I wanted to give you (I know this is late and you've done several episodes since, but just in case you haven't figured it out yet): • Level up as soon as you can. Use the perks to make you stronger. It helps you get more effective in fighting. • You don't have to run everywhere! You can "fast travel" to any location you've already discovered by selecting it on your map.
Battle at 51 minutes: It's for these situations you save level-ups. Taking it would have saved you. (They weren't imperials, btw, they were bandits. This random encounter has some killed and undressed imperial soldiers nearby.)
You get more money siding with saadia due to looting what kematu has.... that's all I care about, that's the big picture here! Feelings and morals don't buy things and aren't shiny 😂
reading is not boring. I really appreciate the time you put into it. thanks! especially because this is something that people never do on stream, so it's really good imo
I'm really happy I found someone that knows how to play a game. I've seen a few of people here on youtube that have no idea what thay are doing and makes me dizzy just watching them play. Thank you I will continue with all your skyrime videos.
I wish people stop back seating Krista and her play through of this game let her figure it out for herself and just kind of don’t worry about it just because you played the game doesn’t mean you need to tell her how to play the game I will give her no hints and no clues just let her ride with it because I think she’ll do just fine. This is a very very refreshing play through of a game and I think she’s gonna gain a lot of subscribers maybe her next game should be like Oblivion or Fallout 3. ? We shall see.
I'm slowly catching. You had a run in with a bandit/robber. Instead of taking so many potions to heal, just take a couple. After the fight, use your restoration magic to heal yourself the rest of the way.
Loving this playthrough! Others are offering you some great tips. I'm still playing catchup with your videos, so maybe you've already figured these things out, but you can just "wait" to pass time; you don't have to sleep. I play on my computer so I don't know where the Wait button is on the Switch controller. Also, if a merchant or other NPC says you aren't looking well or asks if you're feeling OK, you probably contracted some sort of disease from a critter (or worse!). You can look in your Magic menu under Active Effects to see if you are diseased. Those can weaken your combat or magic ability, so you shouldn't let those go for too long. Shrines and some NPC's can heal you, but you can also carry a couple of Cure Disease potions, in case you're in the middle of nowhere. Sorry if someone else has told you, or you've figured it out for yourself. I'm still 2 weeks behind...! ☺
I didn’t fast travel either, until much later in my play through. At lower levels great opportunities to level up, also unlocking locations is premium at this point
2:18:17 "Surely there is more you can tell me" "There is indeed much that we know that you do not. That doesn't mean you are ready to understand it. ...And don't call me Shirley!"
I still like your gameplay lady, but at this point , it seems your not really learning. Why haven't you leveled up and why haven't you used the heal spell you have. I feel like too many people are giving you excuses. You are a bit incompetent.
Don't forget to sell your extra loot when in town, before you are overloaded in a dungeon and dropping anything heavy so you can slog home. One thing that many new players aren't thinking of is the weight of their potions; it can help to pare down to only the potions you actually need and sell the rest. Of course KNOWING what you need is hard part.
That 'official' (i.e. following road signs) path to Ivarstead is about three times as long compared to going around the mountain the other way, east from Helgen and then north.
You did actually miss one etched tablet, at 2:03:50 you can see it, you walked right past it. But worry not! It says: "The Tongues at Red Mountain went away humbled; Jurgen Windcaller began His Seven Year Meditation; To understand how Strong Voices could fail" This was a reference to the Nordic conquests sometime after the Dragon War, the Nords with their newfound power of the voice were unstoppable, but in a campaign against the dark elves in the Red Mountain most of the Nordic army was wiped out from a volcanic eruption, Jurgen Windcaller who was the leader or something took this as a sign from the gods that their use of the voice was wrong.
Im a little behind but I'm really enjoying the playthrough. It's fun watching you make those first-time discoveries, like fus-ro-dah!, or not already knowing the plot, like Saadia's story. Im sure I'll keep enjoying it as i get caught up.
Sorry this is such a late comment. That quest you did for Saadia seems to be designed to let you choose who to side with, so it probably doesn't matter. However, when the Redguard told you she helped "the Aldmeri Dominion" you may not have realized that he was talking about the Thalmor. He also could have been lying though.
There's a lot more going on in that quest than people think. As you read more books in game, you'll find out that Hammerfell (home of the Redguards) fought both the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion / Thalmor. They were able to push the invaders out, reclaim most of their lands, and declare independence. Saadia is actually the one lying because there is no Talmor Resistance in Hammerfell because Hammerfell is a Free State. Skyrim is full of quests like that, that have nuance and subtlety. Things are almost never what they appear to be but sometimes they are, like those "Imperial Soldiers" that were clearly just highwaymen in disguise. 😉
Garlic bread is great to have with you. A full loaf of bread, garlic bulb and and butter. But must use an oven. The recipe makes 2 servings and cures diseases
Weird. yes? But on the plus side, she will only meet low level enemies, as the enemies are tied to the player's level. That's why her combats are so easy right now.
hahahah, I see that we have similar OCD ajaja, I hate to get dozens and dozens of quests, I hate to open the quest log and see the long list... but this game is soooo worth it Jajaja, I spent half this video saying "You need to level up woman! LEVEL UUUUUPPPPPP!" jajaja
Here's a tip. Try to play a specific class like a mage, rogue or a warrior. Mage focuses on magic skills, rogues are like assassins that prefers daggers and bows and Warriors are melee types like one handed, two handed and heavy armors. Doing so, youll level up efficiently. You can be a jack of all trades tho but i wouldnt recommend that.
Most first-timers [especially the blind players] do exactly the jack of all trades, simply because all of it is new, they take what they get as they get it. You'll also note that the main storyline brings you from being loaded down with weapons, to the thieves guild, then to college touching on the three main "classes".
Yeah, I just started watching these, but the fact that you have level up available and don't use it or the skill tree is really bothering me. LOL I'm sitting here just waiting for you to figure it out. -- Keep up the fun work though!!
"Dovahkin" is just a title, you are not a reincarnation I'm afraid . It translates as Dragon-Kin or Dragonborn. Tiber Septim was a nord warrior who became the first of the Septim line of Emperors and he was venerated as the god 'Talos' when he died. The Thalmor regard his alleged godhood as a heresy that they are trying to suppress.
Dovahkin is a creation of akatosh to balance alduin. The dovahkin is the only being that can kill dragons and prevent them from coming back. Any Nord can use the voice with proper training but there's more to the dovahkin. There were other dragonborns, thalos/Tiber septim for example. It's more than a title, it's a power that a chosen being wields
Just started and not caught up so maybe someone already provided this tip for mining. You can equip a pick axe as a weapon and manually strike an ore deposit to avoid the mining schematic sequence and gather ore faster in mines
1:26:04 You say "imperials are dicks". Perhaps you are judging by those bandits dressed as imperial soldiers who murdered you when you came out of that cave? Yep, those were bandits. They killed their victims and looted them naked, -- the dead bodies of the imperial soldiers where somewhere on the ground nearby.
What bad luck soldiers on side trying to kill you or saber cat the other, try and heal spell after damage before letting it get too low to save potions, but it was a good laugh sorry.
Agree with you, Beer 101. I have watched five if her videos ( two ahead in future) and she hasn't leveled up. At this point I am beginning to not enjoy her videos, because she is incompetent and a bit stupid. She doesn't observe things. She says she has played video games before. I am actually hoping she causes the death of Lydia later on, and she causes the death of several townspeople when the vampires start appears in town. Then maybe she will realize and wake up to levelling and fighting and planning ahead!!
You should return to Dead Man's Grotto. Near the treasure chest you found there is a shrine of Talos. Near the base of the shrine is a collectable Blades sword. You might find it very useful!
you now have a housecarl, Lydia... take her along with you, she's more than useful in combat.......AND she can carry extra stuff for you.....anything or anyone who can help you stay alive is worth having with you, the companion or helper you take with you on quests can keep you alive and help carrying stuff.........You need to pay attention to the messages the game keeps sending you reminding you to level up, you also need to check your inventory because its possible that you are carrying better armour and weapons than those you are currently using...also, if you recall, you figured out that you needed a backpack to help you carry more gear....get one or make one as soon as you can, there's nothing worse than having to dump stuff thats valuable because you are over encumbered...also, read spell tomes, because you learn the spells and thus dont need to carry the books around with you.. every little helps, as they say..........
Even I couldn't defeat those armored enemies on my own on low level. The best option is to employ Lydia and give her your surplus weapons and armour and make a 2 handed battle. Later in the game you can recruit more powerful followers. Oh yes, open up the Level skill tree and start building up your powers Don't blindly pick things at random in the skill tree OK?
The “In time of need” quest is badly written. Many take it as being something that occurred in the past 5 years, but the events were nearly 39 years earlier . There is a peace treaty in place 15 years ago (second treaty of Stros M’Kai). It’s a confusing quest because of how it is written. The Alik’r are a mercenary band not a part of any of the governments of the 19 Redguard kingdoms. They were hired by nobles and not a king. So, unofficial without warrants and such .
Nobility *are* the government in a feudal society. If they hire someone it is official business and they should be more than capable of issuing warrants of arrest. It would be absurdly impractical if every criminal offense required a royal decree to employ a bounty hunter.
Dont forget that once you know where somewhere actually is, you can look at the map and simply fast travel there, you dont have to trek all across country every time...you need to read and understand the messages the game is sending you.. for example it told you that you have rockjoint, that's a disease which affects your health and strength, you need a cure potion or a healing spell...you need to level up and use perks to improve your skills and combat attributes, and you need to check what you're carrying to choose better armour and weapons....
Word of caution. It's one thing not to be able to defeat monsters. BUT...when you run away and LEAD monsters ( even if by accident) to other people or townsfolk, the monsters will probably slaughter them. ALL. They are not fighters like you unless they are guards. Kerita was slaughtered because you didn't help her. IF YOU had LEVELED up, you probably would have been able to defeat the snow troll. Snow trolls are powerful. I know it's just a game, but it isn't. It's a roleplay game. If many friends and townspeople die because you failed at something, in the game you WILL get a lousy reputation. E.g.--- in early days when I played, I was running away from a monster. I ran into a village but monster followed me. Before the guards got to monster and killed him, the monster killed 3 women, 2 farmers and 2 cows. Think on this. I KNOW you DIDN'T know better- it's okay.
Don't tell me there's another two hours of "level up" popping up in the upper left corner😂
Krista: I don’t need you Lydia.
Also Krista: Spends the rest of the video getting their ass kicked in any serious fight.
Starts the main quest. Finds Farengar's quest books and books about lore. "What was I doing again?"
Says everyone their first play through ever. Congratulations 🎉 you are officially a skyrim player!

i cant belive you let saadia run free -_-
Eh. Doesn't change the fact that kamatu really does lead a criminal organization, regardless of if they back the thalmor or not. 😌
Also, who didn’t side with her the first time? It’s pretty obvious in hindsight she’s shady but…
You get more money siding with saadia due to looting what kematu has.... that's all I care about, that's the big picture here! Feelings and morals don't buy things and aren't shiny 😂
Also Kamatu doesn’t actually take her back to Hammerfell, she ends up in the Halls of the Dead.
reading is not boring. I really appreciate the time you put into it. thanks! especially because this is something that people never do on stream, so it's really good imo

Be forewarned, the guards don't cotton to lollygagging around Whiterun. 😅
Unless one has taken an arrow to the knee, of course.

Also, by not killing troll, the next person travelling up that path....is a goner!
This lady didn't fast travel. I respect that.
2:00:46 This is "why I hear boss music" moment. Hahaha, I like her reaction
Maybe it's because she doesn't know that she can fast travel..
I didn’t fast travel either, until much later in my play through. At lower levels great opportunities to level up, also unlocking locations is premium at this point
2:18:17 "Surely there is more you can tell me"
"There is indeed much that we know that you do not. That doesn't mean you are ready to understand it. ...And don't call me Shirley!"
Okay, who else laughed their butts off when she said that she was just "going to go talk with the grey breads real fast"???
ahhhhhhhh level up and spend your points!!!! XD
Bless you for taking an interest in the books!
nice to see you not using fast travel in your journey 😊
Maybe she don't know how to...
@@Wirmish pretty sure that's the case
I know you probably did in the future but LEVEL UPPPP
Those Necromancers were near a dragon tomb, so who knows what they were up too.
Skyrim is an eternal game. It's like GTA V. So many mods for it on PC. If you think it looks good on Switch, modded Skyrim is insane.
Well, being killed three times us a great way to learn, and motivates you to try different fighting strategies. Don't be afraid 😟 in dying.
Your reaction when you figure fus ro dah came from this game is so amazing and funny
Love watching your play through its great to see your experience with the game
You keep looking for potions but you have healing magic.
I still like your gameplay lady, but at this point , it seems your not really learning. Why haven't you leveled up and why haven't you used the heal spell you have. I feel like too many people are giving you excuses. You are a bit incompetent.
And i feel you are a bit of a rude jerk. If she bugs you so much go watch someone else.
What happened to the audio? It was so good
The big quests can be hard so doing lots of little miscellaneous quests first is a good way to increase your skills (and many of them are fun too)
Thank you for all the tips!
Really enjoy your "tthrough novice eyes" playthrough style.
"I'll just take the water, the water is safe..."
slaughter fish: the water isn't safe...

Yeaaahhhhh that frost troll is a bit infamous 😂 most returning players know to go around lol
Im a little behind but I'm really enjoying the playthrough. It's fun watching you make those first-time discoveries, like fus-ro-dah!, or not already knowing the plot, like Saadia's story. Im sure I'll keep enjoying it as i get caught up.

The only vacant place for Dragonborn to sleep in Dragonsreach is in one double bed with Jarl. You are friends with the jarl, so, figures... LOL
One tip anout ingrediants, If you have multiples of them, eat one and that will tell you what it can create.
hahahah, I see that we have similar OCD ajaja, I hate to get dozens and dozens of quests, I hate to open the quest log and see the long list... but this game is soooo worth it
Jajaja, I spent half this video saying "You need to level up woman! LEVEL UUUUUPPPPPP!" jajaja
I love how you play
You forget you were going to Smith in Whiterun
Here's a tip. Try to play a specific class like a mage, rogue or a warrior. I really thought you would've sided with Kematu. I always do. Better rewards and i feel good afterwards. Kematu is a reasonable guy tbh.
When in doubt, distract the Troll with other Pilgrims.
This game is pure magic. Glitches and all.
59:40 “Get away from me you Skyrim trash” 😂 damn
A little trivia, all the buildings in Whiterun have a dragon head motif on the roof, but one. The Bannered Mare has a horse’s head
How many wolf pelts can Krista collect? We shall soon see.
I've never played on a Switch before. Does it have a sensitivity adjuster? 😇
Thank you for the explanation!
Dovahkin is a creation of akatosh to balance alduin. The dovahkin is the only being that can kill dragons and prevent them from coming back. Any Nord can use the voice with proper training but there's more to the dovahkin. There were other dragonborns, thalos/Tiber septim for example. It's more than a title, it's a power that a chosen being wields
great let's play indeed
You can heal completely when you up level
Sabre Cat at level 3, ouch! They can't spawn randomly at that level, this was the 'boss' at Greenspring Hollow.
I'll have to go back and defeat it.
Just started and not caught up so maybe someone already provided this tip for mining. You can equip a pick axe as a weapon and manually strike an ore deposit to avoid the mining schematic sequence and gather ore faster in mines
I’ve been playing the game for years and didn’t know that
You should talk to everyone in towns. There are literally hundreds of Side Quests to do, that offer good rewards.
Swayed by a pretty face huh? Happens to the best of us.
I'm curious, why did you trust Saadia's version over the Alik'rs'?
been playing Skyrim for more than ten years and never knew that vigilants of stendar can cure diseases 😳
Likewise and they're willing to do it more than once. 😎
I'm embarrassed that I never thought to ask.
1:27:47 I love that she's wow'd by the beauty of this game, even in its' severely degraded Switch form.
I like that you pay attention to the loading tips (and that your system is slow enough so you have time to read them...).
Lol you killed them all
Don't use fast travel too much. You miss a lot random encounters and nice magical finds and...secrets! Hidden treasures.
You will find it much easier to search and pick up items if you operate in first person
You are doing just fine... and there's lots of great comments to speed you on your journey.
Drem Yol Loc Dovahkiin!
Should’ve paid that 100 gold huh 😅
Restoration magic
What bad luck soldiers on side trying to kill you or saber cat the other, try and heal spell after damage before letting it get too low to save potions, but it was a good laugh sorry.
What's up with the game audio it go really quiet
Just what to say when it says level up do it it hlep
books with higher values are skill learning books
Skyrim in 2023 Wow .. is this the anniversary edition? hehehe
Yes, I'm playing the Anniversary Edition!
Saadia was definitely the wrong choice. She’s 100% the traitor. Level up damn it! You did it before!
Agree with you, Beer 101. I have watched five if her videos ( two ahead in future) and she hasn't leveled up. At this point I am beginning to not enjoy her videos, because she is incompetent and a bit stupid. She doesn't observe things. She says she has played video games before. Then maybe she will realize and wake up to levelling and fighting and planning ahead!!
BLIND lets play....means shes blind til shes not@@lukeyznaga7627
👍👍
You should return to Dead Man's Grotto. Near the treasure chest you found there is a shrine of Talos. Near the base of the shrine is a collectable Blades sword. You might find it very useful!
I don't mind the reading.
Selling accumulated Dragon Bones/Scales are usually great for lightening the load, but not always best in every instance, because "Skyrim". []:-)
you now have a housecarl, Lydia... take her along with you, she's more than useful in combat.......AND she can carry extra stuff for you.....anything or anyone who can help you stay alive is worth having with you, the companion or helper you take with you on quests can keep you alive and help carrying stuff.........You need to pay attention to the messages the game keeps sending you reminding you to level up, you also need to check your inventory because its possible that you are carrying better armour and weapons than those you are currently using...also, if you recall, you figured out that you needed a backpack to help you carry more gear....get one or make one as soon as you can, there's nothing worse than having to dump stuff thats valuable because you are over encumbered...also, read spell tomes, because you learn the spells and thus dont need to carry the books around with you.. every little helps, as they say..........
You can also just play the game yourself if you want it done in a specific way. ☺️
When I play Skyrim I put the camera...
· Exterior: 3rd person

I play in third , fight in 1st
Even I couldn't defeat those armored enemies on my own on low level. The best option is to employ Lydia and give her your surplus weapons and armour and make a 2 handed battle. Later in the game you can recruit more powerful followers.
Oh yes, open up the Level skill tree and start building up your powers
Don't blindly pick things at random in the skill tree OK?
No not true your logic. You are nit the reincarnation of Talos but your own Dragonborn or Dovahkiin so you don't have to side with the Stormcloaks.
Also, Ulfric wants to dismantle the empire that Talos created.

Animal killer! You could use calm magic but nooo you had to kill poor wolfies. Shame on you!
Uh, you still haven't tried to do blacksmithing. Yo have the ability to forge your own weapons! Use the forge.
pay the fine, then pickpocket the gruard
After all that running, check for ticks...
in future you can Fast Travel to High Hrothgar
Word of caution. It's one thing not to be able to defeat monsters. E.g.--- in early days when I played, I was running away from a monster. I ran into a village but monster followed me. Before the guards got to monster and killed him, the monster killed 3 women, 2 farmers and 2 cows. Think on this. I KNOW you DIDN'T know better- it's okay.
