@@mariasafron7789 I don’t hate Saebi , I love her, she was in my top 6/7 most of the show but let’s be real here. Saebi doesn’t fit girl crush, normally that’s okay but their songs are going to be produced by the black label so it will probably be a girl crush concept. So she’s. Going to have to work rlly hard to fit a concept that she’s not going to fit or get overshadowed by the rest of her members. If we’re talking about a blackpink dynamic, she cannot be a Lisa or Jennie. They are too different from her. 1. She doesn’t fit girl crush, 2. I really liked your video, i agree with most of what you said and i hope to see in the future your reaction about the final lineup, im curious. Now onto my personal opinions: I think the whole jiyoon and jungeun conflict was somehow well handle by mnet? Or at least in the end had a very positive outcome with both of them debuting and being well loved by their respectives audience (jiyoon in korea and jungeun with the international audience) and as we have seen so far there's not a lot of conflict between those two girls fanbases. To be honest i believe the scene where they made up was completely scripted by mnet 😭 even the part where jungeun goes upstairs, jiyoon observes and goes to apologize, for me it feel like a big set up by mnet to portray this event in the most palatable way for the viewers. I have a theory they actually made up some time before the actual position battle and seeing how both of them talked with fuko about this situation im sure fuko must have played a part in their actual reconciliation. The arguments i have to support this theory are 2: 1. Fuko personality. I don't think she would have let things just continue like this, specially after she herself approached jiyoon about the situation. 2. Again the whole scene they ended up airing feel so light-hearted, you wouldn't think these two girls weren't on speaking terms minutes before, they immediately started joking, jiyoon has this little smile on and looked very serene while jungeun didn't show a lot of emotions despite seeing crying when talking with fuko in a flashback. Anyways, there's a lot of reasons but im 85% that scene was scripted and they reconciled days or even weeks before. I don't think we can have a lot of opinions about the actual conflict because it was so heavily edited by mnet but we can definitely be sure it happened and it affected both of the girls emotionally and mnet used it to add drama, i think most of the audience wanted to move past it to this point so im glad it ended well. I do have to say, I disagree with you about the producers not wanting jiyoon and then doing 180° after seein the audience response and her kind attitude. I think the producers actually wanted her from the beginning or was a strong candidate for debut. My reasons for that are the following. 1. Her vocal tone was highlighted since the beginning. 2. The actual conflict with jungeun and her attitude after not getting the parts she wanted happened for real, it wasn't evil editing. mnet definitely used those situation to generate drama but not necessarily to paint her in a extremely bad way she couldn't recover. I could be reaching, but maybe the producers who have knowledge on the girls personalities knew that jiyoon, while having emotional reactions and a direct personality, is also a sweet person, willing to help her teammates and who has qualities for being a leader (she took this position a lot during the program, and in part 2 it was basically assigned to her). So they were waiting or maybe even planning for that part of her personality to come through in future episodes 3. This is the most important and the reason why I believe the producers liked her. I think most people forget but the ooh ahh and the eyes nose lips performances aired in the SAME EPISODE. It didn't really sink until I rewatched. Because of the format mnet didn't even let a bad performance of her marinate with the audiences for a week and instead presented an amazing performance of her by the end of the episode, making her basically the highlight of the whole episode, people were able to ignore the bad to focus on the good. I think because of bias we tend to give our favorites a kind of underdog story, but things aren't always that way. It's all theorical but I really believe jiyoon and other girls storylines were carefully planned and executed by the producers to give them a good chance of debuting. I think they put a lot of though into the show and the final lineup. After carefully reviewing the footage they got, they decided to pick and choose what to show in order to direct the narratives, for jiyoon they were going to use what they have so she could be this character that did a reversal and won in the end. They purposefully left out footage, like jiyoon and jungeun getting along and jungeun crying to fuko to minimize the bad impact this situation could have in both girls, but they still used to conflict to attract viewers.
Maybe I'm giving mnet too much credit, but it all fits so well, in part 2 it's so much obvious, but you can see the end result of what they learned in part 1 and be applied on part 2. for example, most of the songs and some main positions were given in part 2. Some examples I can think of jiyoon are: 1. She wasn't able to perform as well with a song she felt insecure about (ooh ahh) so they gave her a song that she liked/fit her well (I am the best) and made her center. 2. Her attitude and teamwork skills were questioned too, so they made her the leader for I am the best. I don't think the sujung/Mai situation was scripted but it def helped her. I also believe they wanted jungeun too, and her whole arc on part 2, was a kind of a fall of grace, giving her bad scores and no screentime so her one pick became stronger, and the audience felt they needed to save her. My only actual proof that jungeun was never out of the debut lineup of the producers is that vvn, one of the judges of the program and producer of Iwaly, liked a comment on Instagram that basically said jungeun must debut something like that. Anyways, whether mnet played us or the audience outsmarted them I'm just glad both of them debuted ❤❤❤
