These are the kind of security guards I always talk about and refer to. There are plenty on UA-cam that have channels that have the same mentality and dress a like. We’re security, no need to look like that. Guards like this is what you call, a liability risk, and ones to make us all look bad. Get training and education in things that is or could be useful and helpful that can make you an asset than buying and wasting money on useless gear, such as an outer vest, to look like a clown. I always hear the “I have back pain” BS. Well, adding weight to your shoulders won’t help either. I wear under plates. I can tell you factually, that gives me back pain more than my belt. I even heard that same BS with people wearing leg drops too. Just reposition your holster. We’re security. We’re not law enforcement, military or EMS going into high risk areas and clearing buildings four, five plus times a week. Don’t be like him and others.
As a security industry professional that has done it all, (personal protective details, retail security/LP/asset protection, security patrols for businesses and other private properties, and foreign detail contracts, among so many more aspects of the private sector) I can assure you all that there is no way in hell that you can "accidentally" turn on your lights or direct the flow of traffic on a public way. This guy is a crack job when it comes to honesty and integrity.
I will admit, as former EMS/Fire with personal red and whites(only bring that up since it meant that anytime I was driving, county vehicles, security vehicles, or my own vehicle, I always had access to lights) and security, ONE TIME I did accidently turn on my lights. Actually happened while on a security patrol at a massive site where lights were only used if there was an emergency. Otherwise, they were off at all times. Drove out to one of the security booths to relieve the guard and they called on the radio and said your lights are on. Still have no clue how that happened or how long I was driving with them on. Didn't really matter, these roads were private roads for authorized persons only but was still kinda embarrassing.
Can't have K9s when doing private patrols either. His company is either ignorant to his ways, or they are legitimately stupid for knowingly allowing him to have his dog.
@@narnian19Respectfully, you’re incorrect. The state of New Mexico allows security officers to have K9’s on patrol. Every state has different laws. This guy is still an idiot. But he’s an idiot w/a lawful K9.

You can tell these kinda guys apply to be cops but fail the psychological evaluation and never get hired and end up being security guards and abuse their “power”
Gotta take a pysch test and also a psychologist interview, trust me, you’d be surprised how many ppl get by and squeeze into certain departments, only to get kicked out in the academy. I’m a LEO, you don’t want these pretend lunatics going on the force
@@Maxiaktthe thing with these kind of security guards that want to be police and can’t is that are either not very smart or they just give off “this guy is a weirdo vibes” I worked with one guy, who honestly wasn’t a bad guy, he was a combat vet and all he wanted to do was become a cop, but just was born a few fries short of a full happy meal. Kept getting denied by different departments, our bosses were retired LEO and so were some of our co workers and they would all say when he wasn’t in the room that he definitely wasn’t fit to be a cop. Genuinely felt bad for that guy cuz I’ve worked with some people that all they want to do is be cops and they just make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, this guy wasn’t that just wasn’t born with enough common sense and smarts to make it as a cop. Usually the guys that worry you though get filtered out because you have to spend time when going through the process of applying to law enforcement of being around them for hours, so all it takes is someone going “this guy creeps me out we’re denying him” another guy I worked with changed his last name to something cringey like black jet, so it could be on his work badge and name tag. Always had a super high and tight haircut, high speed gear to the max. He legit carried like 4 handcuffs at a time, like a dozen magazines too. Multiple mace, just super weird. Also had an all blacked out crown Vic as his personal car, with the spotlights and the grille guard on it. So it looked the same as a cop car, he never said he had red and blues, but I’m sure he did. Dude took his job too seriously, and all he wanted to do was become a real cop. Thankfully this guy had been applying to different departments for years and years and kept getting denied, and he just couldn’t figure out why lol.
That is why you don't allow them to use state seals and issue them a specific badge. There are actual professional security officers out there. Most are former LEOs.
Portillo was not arrested on scene but instead was given a misdemeanor citation for impersonating an officer and he was released. Portillo was scheduled to be arraigned on the charge on December 7 but the arresting officer forgot to sign the citation so it was dismissed in court. If found guilty, Portillo faces up to a year behind bars and a fine of up to $2,000., not sure if he was found guilty, but im sure he on the police radar now.
They took a particular liking into this dude, they couldn’t just say hey we are going to let you go… especially after admitting he turned his lights on the officer.

@@eshuorishas9987I guess I should’ve clarified… the first thing he said after the cop mentioned him using his lights on the highway was “you have no proof.” Had he made a denial and then said “you have no proof” then I’d agree. But, imo, he didn’t deny it first because he knew he was guilty. His first thought was not to protest his innocence but to point out that, without dash cam video, they’d never be able to prove it.
I once had a friend that wanted a job in security. He couldn't hold a job for longer than 3 days🙄 He really believed that he was a real-life cop. He was completely dilutional. This is dangerous thinking. I agree this guy is almost certainly guilty of what he's accused of. But innocent people also say "where is the proof" and "you have no proof I did anything," etc.
He also has an army SF patch on the other arm. I don’t believe his story at all, but marines can and do attend SFAS (the selection for special forces).
Given the overall interaction…I find it very hard to believe he was a Green Beret. I don’t necessarily doubt that he may have served in the Army, but a Green Beret? That’s difficult to believe.

Because for a moment they hope it will keep them from being detained, for a moment 🙈
It's actually funny because he was already detained and was under threat of arrest, not detainment. On the get go he was detained. The fact that he doesn't even know that is silly in itself.

You are full of crap you can accidentally turn on your lights

Shaking isn’t always a fear response. As the captain said it was a rush of adrenaline.
Portillo was not arrested on scene but instead was given a misdemeanor citation for impersonating an officer and he was released. Portillo was scheduled to be arraigned on the charge on December 7 but the arresting officer forgot to sign the citation so it was dismissed in court.
