I disagree with the network for showing this segment. Things were bad enough without adding this to it. The skaters can't even blow their nose without the camera rolling. But Chris was very hyper active and this issue alone makes his ability to focus very difficult, let alone sit still. Add to that his being bipolar, but not knowing until nearly the end of his life. It's no wonder he was an addict and alcoholic who was unable to take back his life.

"You're a prisoner in your own mind." -Frank Carroll
Poor Chris, he never stood a chance. If people had only known that he was battling Bipolar Disorder, then he would have been treated with dignity.

Frank was an absolute jerk to Christopher in my personal opinion No one should ever be treated in this manner.

Rick Mileske Let's be honest Christopher was a hand full, who believed in his own press. Toller Cranston who coached Christopher after also had a very tough time with him. Christopher was a supremely charismatic and talented skater, but his level of commitment wasn't there.

Christopher was so talented but undisciplined and that is what the problem was with both of his coaches

Rick Mileske there was a lot of years that lead up to this competition. Frank did so much for Chris, helped him through rehab (paid for it to). I loved Chris was always my favorite, and Frank is a great man and the in my mind the greatest coach ever.

I think Frank Carroll is a great coach. A person who has him as their coach has to be serious and desciplined. Christopher Bowman has more of a laid back and carefree personality. I think Frank was intolerable of Christopher's behavior. It didn't help that Frank wasn't there at the crucial time when he needed him the most.
When he got up to leave and told Christopher "Your a prisoner of your mind!' I felt his comment wouldn't work on Christopher. Christopher was under a lot of pressure to succeed BB. Christopher needed a coach that can motivate a positive, understanding and guide his training that would benefit his free spirited nature on the ice. You are right in saying Frank seemed harsh on Christopher @Rick Mileske and he shouldn't have been treated in a negative and critical manner. We won't know Christopher's side of his story since his untimely tragic passing. Sad.
