Please remember that you need to handle the overflow in your main waterbassin or you will end up flooding your colony. You can just replace a few of the levees on the map edge with dams.
Yeah... I figured that out the hard way recording the next episode! LOL Definitely going to need to fix that!
Maybe blast a canal 1 wide to your pines and underwater farm with a sluice, freeing up haulers, saving water etc...?
A floodgate on top of a sluice dam, set to 95% closed. It will save the water and release automatically.
I think dam's cause all that flooding and rubberbanding. I never use dams, I use floodgates and I never have weird flooding. Plus they save so much more water now.
Especially on hard mode, a floodgate can hold 30% more water for less mistakes and micromanagement on your crops.
Free power is free power, narrow channel easy power. Why avoid it? The wind is less consistent than badwater imo.
