- I head out to a familiar campsite to play ham radio. it was the RSGB field day so I took equipment to work VHF 2m.
I also try out my new outdoor cooking pot which my girls bought for me for father's day. The pot is called a Tagine and is my favourite way to cook outdoors by far. Ras el Hanout is the spice mix I used to cook the Lamb Chops in.

Great video, and I loved the Lamb!
Good effort Carl, you sure pick the best days .
The intro hahaha
Love your videos.. Great effort.. Well done ...
That wind sure gave those tent pegs a test. Good for you to even attempt that tenting in the wind. VE6KBI Dana
Carl, a great setup for field day seems a bit windy but when we operating on the radio you really hardly ever notice! Hihi. Your father's day gift really came in handy and I am sure that you will put it to very good use, and it sure looks delicious. And another enjoyable video, Carl, keep'em coming!
Fantastic efforts and work Carl. Great setup and the food looked great.
I heard you making contacts, but I have to say I couldn't have tolerated all that tent flapping, so well done 😊
Great Video as always Carl. / that cooking pot and resulting lamb dish looked excellent !! Mark, 2E0MSR.
Fair play… nasty conditions for tenting… Nice pot too. 😊
Carl, Thanks for taking the time to edit and share. A lovely mix of activities in a very relaxed style that's very enjoyable to watch - especially your menus! Perhaps one day I may get to work you. 73, Rob, M0JWU.
Nice video. I'm in Arizona, USA, where daily temps are around 107F, which is 41.7C. I'd love some clouds and a cool wind.
Its Always "Wine O Clock" Young Carl. Hic Burp 🤣
Another fabulous video Carl. 73 M7BBH.
All good Field Days have good food, sometimes poor weather, and are only semi-serious. :)
Field Day for me here in the US was beautiful weather. But the bands were horrible! I ended up visiting a local amateur radio club and helped them out with CW on 40 meters.
Nice time it looked and the food. This popped up on home page. Thought to myself, last week or this Saturday. Thinking last week. Our lot did. Too complicated for me but did the UA-cam video. A windy day but the cooking pot makes up for the rubbish weather, Dry at least and the tent stay up!. You got G3PIA/P. I got that cooker, for power cut use, warm tin grub up at home. I used to do camping. Lost patence 2009 in Kent when wet for a week, sold stuff. Toilet in sisters garage and mains hook up. Other bits, Tent sold.
You could have used a horizontally polarised Halo antenna for working SSB, that sure looks a bit windy there. Looks good though, food is well prepared that's the main thing. 73 Matt🙂👍
Nice one Carl, you certainly had a good blow going on. I'm afraid to say I sounded better on your radio than vice versa...turn the wick up Carl ;-) !!! 73's M0XJA
I appreciate the effort you put into the hobby and your video editing. well done karl !! keep it coming!!
