I just did a test with a 1st. Gen PPQ with RWS Hypermax pellets 5.5 Gr. and got a spread of 445 fps to 438 fps. at 1 Min. between shots a total of 10 and now I can't wait to get the M2 which has more Power,
my PX4 storm pushes Prometheus Pistol Pellets the Metal wadcutters at 473 fps . it's also 5 yrs old so it's well broken in the PPQ M2 for the States said 380 fps. so that means after the first 100 rds . with the same pellets will do over 450+ fps they'll be here latter this month.
Great review as always. One thing that does bother me with this though is the location of the co2 and seems to be the case with many co2 pistols. The location of the co2 in the magazine. I'd like it if it was more like the gamo pt85 set up, can change magazines quickly whilst leaving the co2 canister in the gun. At least if you have spare magazines then it will give you the full feel of operating a pistol the way it should be 👍
The advantage with it being in the mag is that after shooting you can swap the now very cold mag for a warmer one; a significant advantage given CO2 performs best when warm. Also the magazines on this are metal, so provide a good chunk of thermal mass, slowing the cooling.
The idea is to look like and feel like a real gun, and if it was pointed in your face on the new York subway you would be shaking in your shoes and handing over your valuables.
Thank you Andy for this one, much appreciated. I would like to see your take on the blow back effects of each gun and rate it if possible. It has so much to do with the overall realism. I don’t see much importance placed on this subject so far from the videos that are out there. Tks… 👍
I've only got a couple blowback CO2 pistols, both are versions of my carry guns. I've modified the PPQ for greater blowback force. It uses one CO2 cylinder per magazine now, but does increase the realism noticeably. I also installed a stronger recoil spring.
Time for a "belt fed air gun" series where you compare the different belt systems / high cap magazines and how the guns perform. Thanks for the video. Very interesting!
Andy :watched your Walther PPQM2 review>>purchased the unit>very nice gun BUT the trigger pull is very HARD(I know it has to move the mag belt) but it is a very hard trigger pull>>plus if you do not push the pellets into the belt they jam on the mag side wall>> not sure if there is a remedy for the hard trigger pull/belt feed ?????HELP
So excited, get my first order from Vector later today, all down to you, Andy :) Humble suggestion... Make the reviews be in mono instead of stereo, as the sound currently and in many videos keeps shifting from left to right. Seems to be just the 'studio' segments. Totally only a minor thing, but just thought I'd mention it in case its useful.
Thanks for the review. I bought this product. Maybe it is my exemplary problem, but belt with pellets are not easily rotating. I have to apply high pressure to trigger to rotate belt, there is no "wall" as a result. So I understand that it is not target gun, but in my SigSauer M17 it works significantly better. I like umarex try to create something innovative, but this technology is not yet good enough.
Super cool! I've been watching you videos nonstop and the production quality is amazing, you should check out the colt commander 1911 from umarex, pretty sweet gun.
Back in the day, I nearly bought an Anics Skif A-3000 because of the belt fed mag,... but the trigger pull put me off. Seems this is all sorted now, and I'm sorely tempted by one of these, or a Sig.
Torn between this model and the CP99. I'm leaning more towards the PPQ, unfortunately it seems as though it may be too loud for my garden as there are neighbouring children in the area. Would a suppressor make a difference or does the blowback feature cancel out the attachment? Thanks.
Can't really attach a suppressor to this pistol's barrel. Would need something attached to the accessory rail instead, but I dunno if such thing exists for this model.
I’m new to Co2 blowback pistols and have just bought this gun, I paid £200 and I think it’s worth every penny in my limited experience, heavy, solid and so well made !!! Seems I made the right choice for my first one ?! Quick question the torch/laser site you showed what is the make of that as I’m looking to get one ??
There are two issues with mine (and I've seen others have the same problem so it's not just me). There's a bit of play between the slide and the frame towards the front so there's a slight rattle. The spring that returns the slide is too weak which lowers the lifespan of the gun. Hopefully they'll fix that in the future if they haven't already. It's unfortunate because everything else on this gun is great.
Hi, I believe there are two versions of this gun out there. You mentioned that your gun has a 21 round belt. While others say they have have a 20 round belt. Pyramid stays in their description it has a 20 round belt. I've seen videos on UA-cam that states its a 21 round belt as you do. What I have notice is the guns with the 21 round belts have yellow markings on their barrel sites and the 20 round belt guns have white markings on their site barrels. I also notice the markings are different. On the 20 round guns there is only the Walther marking on the slide..but the 21 round guns have the Walther marking along with the 9mm x 19 marking as well. So I see two different guns advertised. I believe one is sold in a certain market area and the other in the USA.
Andy I have a question... Do the Walther PPQ M2 jam a lot? Cause I had the Sig Sauer X5 and it jammed a lot and the magazine got stuck and I send it back. So I would like to know that before I purchase it. I am really interested in starting a collection.
Apparenrly these do not usually jam. These have a very good indexing system. The issue wirh the Sig Sauers jamming is the weak spring in the top of the magazines. Once replacing og soring to a slightly harder one, the issue goes away. I fixed my ever jamming 30rd Sig P320 with a harder mag spring, and it has not jammed ever since. And I do own many Sigs.
p.s did you drive through Bovingdon, Herts yesterday eve. i have a car inn front with number plate AAR and instantly thought of you..lol keep up the great reviews and insights. cheers
Good review as usual. I like the CO2 in the mag (swap mags for a warm CO2 bulb) but it is a bit of a shame the slide doesn't lock back after the last shot like on the PPK. But I guess you can't have everything. One thing I'd thought I'd mention though, on older / western style SAO revolvers which do not have the swing out cylinder the "loading port" is usually known as the "gate" or "loading gate". Just thought I'd point that out.😏
I hate when airgun makers don’t make a full blow back slide and only make it move a bit and sell it for so much more than non blowback just make it non blow back or full blow back
After watching the video, I purchased a WALTHER PPQ M2 Pellet Airsoft gun . Upon using it, I found that the trigger is heavy with a long travel distance, requiring a lot of force to activate the CO2. This results in shaky hands and inaccurate shooting. After shooting a few pellets, my finger feels too weak to continue pulling the trigger. I have tried using gun-specific lubricant on all parts, including the components in the magazine, but to no avail. This has completely taken away my enjoyment of shooting and I am disappointed that I spent CAD232 on it.
Im in the same boat. I had the walther cp99 pellet and the co2 mag broke on me and there's been no way to get a replacement even after contacting umarex if there's anyway to just buy a new one but they were completely out of stock. So I decided to try this one and it's no where near as crisp as cp99. Just too stiff and too long trigger pull. Too much power is also being wasted on the blowback function.
I love mines but some times the trigger jams and it won't shoot have to pull the trigger a second time and skip the Pellet by the time I've pull the trigger 21 times there would be about 7 pellets that didn't fire . Is there a fix for this problem?
Looks like this PPQ will fit in my hand as well as my powder burning brother does, I'm going to have a look to see if there are any of these here in the Canadian market soon. By the way, does this model have a rifled barrel? A side note here, I've seen and heard so much about the Vector Optics scopes on this channel, that I thought I'd look them up. Yep, I bought one,, just received it yesterday, and first looking at it out of it's box, I am impressed. What clear glass, and that reticle,... well you should do yourselves a favor and have a look see for yourselves.
Andy. Is there anything out there just like this with belt feed and has the cantilever Co2 piercing rather than having to use a hex key etc ? Just thinking I can leave the pistol ungassed and would just be a case of piercing to use , thanks Jon
What a shame Umarex sent only a fraction of the prerdered guns to the UK, so many folk with preorders with their local RFD couldn't get this gun, whilst the big box shifter RFDs are sat with unsold units in stock.
They totally one upped the Sig!!! " (Sig)=" I caught an 18" Rainbow trout!".....(Walther)= "oh that's a nice one...I actually just caught a 19" Golden trout!!
I have the first gen ppq and love it, been following this one since it was announced a couple of years ago..still not available in the States yet, but hopefully soon. I think that belt system is by far better than Sigs
Hello there, I came across with your channel few days ago and I find it very informative. So based on your knowledge (without knowing if you ever had a chance to use it though) I'd like your opinion on how this is worth to replace my good old Anics Skif A-3000. Could we actually compare A3000 with PPQ M2? A3000 has 28 mag while M2 has 21. A3000 can use pellets or bbs (with some good loading attention) but I don't know if M2 can also use bbs... Sights are adjustable vertical and horizontal for A3000 but only horizontal for M2. I love the way Umarex combined both pellet and CO2 cartridge in one magazine and the loading system of "chain" mag seems to be almost identical with the pellet loading system of old A3000. However, the A3000 needs a tool to move the magazine to fully load it, the M2 just needs a thumb. PPQ M2 after some use it's said the blowback slide release lever gets a bit loose and it may jam if your thumb is too close to it. Is that true? And the recoil spring does it really fail? Did you come up with some issues?
How odd, I was literally offered one of these just as this video was posted. Keep up the great reviews, If you could possibly review a hatsan factor please 😊
Good morning Andy, this is a fabulous pistol. Some great features, that adds to its appeal. I've just got one gripe ?. The loading of pellets is going to be slow. Iam just been picky. Good morning Simon , I have had the pistol from launch here in UK and in regard to the loading it actually becomes pretty smooth and quick once you have a technic in place, if you pick one up I am sure you will be very happy with it. I added a good quality case and X300 weapon light to mine👍🏻

Hi there, I was just wondering if you’ve had your hands on a CZ SP-01 SHADOW CO2 4.5mm BB? I’m struggling whether to get this or a GLOCK 17 GEN 4. Any thoughts?
I had the same issue but went for this PPQ M2 in the end, bought an extra 2 magazines and paddle holster and dual mag holder (IMI Defense, Amazon). Ultimately it falls between wanting a lock back slider on last shot and bbs or no lock back and 21 pellets with more power and accuracy. (P.S.. the PPQ M2 can do FA)
The "CZ 75 P- 07 9 ×19 DUTY" bb gun locks open on the last round, great gun, very nicely made, nice weight, balances well in your hand, and shoots like a dream, and the grips, absolutely phenomenal, the gun in my opinion is so good I bought 2 of them, I carry one for a less lethal option to my other gun, it's definitely a beautiful replica! Spot on. If you ever get a second, check this beauty out, I don't think you're going to regret it, it looks like you're staring down the barrel of a 9 mm, the barrel for the BB is reased, BADASS, why I got it, looks absolutely real, and scary. Thank you for all your great videos! Stay safe my friend 🙏❤️🇺🇲❤️👍
BB guns and pellet guns are entirely different. This one is a pellet gun. I have yet to see a pellet gun that can lock open after the last shot. The reason is in the feeding mechanism. Steel BBs are hard and therefore can be stacked in the magazines and fed like bullets of the real guns. The lock open function is enabled through a tab in the magazine follower. Pellets are made of soft lead and is hollow. They cannot be fed by the magazine follower because they will be crashed by the power of follower spring. Thus currently all pellet guns operate like DA revolvers. Previously they are put in round 8 round magazines which operates exactly the same as revolvers. The current belt feed system works on identical principles, just roaring a belt as opposed to a disk. As you can see as there are no magazine follower, there is no lock open. Also it is the trigger pull that rotates the disk/belt, not the slide. All pellet guns are therefore revolvers in disguise. The blowback feature is entirely for show, it has no real function. Why people prefer pellets over BBs? Because pellets are inherently more accurate and are less likely to rebound when hitting hard targets. Many clubs do not allow BBs.
Doesn't have 21 shots and not a ~200 $currency price tag but the Stey LP50RF is a magazine fed competition pistol. Also none of that CO2 rubbish as it is a PCP 👍
@@5Komma5 just looked that up. What a pistol. Defo will be considering that. To bad Andy rarely (well maybe he did once) review target guns, otherwise he might have given it a through once over.

Pellet, blow-back, 21 round, 60 shot per cylinder, 400 fps, realistic weight and looks great. Wow, air pistols have come on since my Webley Tempest :D
I have really high hopes for the new magazines. Im waiting for a glock with those, it will be great. Maybe they can do more smgs then too.

I had the Webley Vulcan air rifle in the early 80s and I stretched the spring and double sprung it and sparks were flying from the trigger mechanism.

I of course did a total disassembly of everything to begin with. Which was a good thing, due finding 3 stuck pellets within the barrel. I guess the previous owner shot until the co2 ran out totally..😂 After running thru 3 mags worth of pellets, it left me though with a good amount of co2 still to bleed out from the mag, after eventually being on the range with it.
No idea of the original stiff trigger thing, as mine was used when bought, and due all being apart I worked n polished all internal surfaces really smooth. The belt and trigger works very well. The trigger reset is long, as the mechanics require it to be so, but it is just a fantastic shooter imo. The barrel did have a slight wiggle to it when I got it. No idea why, or does it occur on all of these, but I fixed that wiggle also while being at it. The previous owner was an active action/practical shooter, who switched over to the real steel version - but still the belts on both of the magazines seemed to me still to be in very good shape (can but wonder, due hearing stories already of poor belts on these🤔).

Yep, I bought one,, just received it yesterday, and first looking at it out of it's box, I am impressed.
What clear glass, and that reticle,... well you should do yourselves a favor and have a look see
for yourselves.
By the way, does this model have a rifled barrel?
Yes it is
@@McGuinnessful Good to know,... thanks.
Great review … 👍🏻… decisions hmm decisions . 😵💫
The gun feels great shoots good just no Orange sites
Where is that outdoor area that you're shooting in? Is that your garden??
Would it be possible to change the barrel to something a bit longer?
I'm deciding whether to get this or the glock 17 gen 5. ?
Andy. Is there anything out there just like this with belt feed and has the cantilever Co2 piercing rather than having to use a hex key etc ? Just thinking I can leave the pistol ungassed and would just be a case of piercing to use , thanks Jon
I thought the ppk blow back has the last shot open lock it's not a pellet gun but it does have it👍👌✌️🎯💯🥂
For God's sake Andy! It's okay doing a review on ultra light pellets, but what's the power output of your usual pellets?
From the belt fed clip's?
nice i,m going to get this one too.
This is literally a "chain feed", just like the M242 Bushmaster
Is this a good option for pedt control?
What a shame Umarex sent only a fraction of the prerdered guns to the UK, so many folk with preorders with their local RFD couldn't get this gun, whilst the big box shifter RFDs are sat with unsold units in stock.
I am guessing this gun can not use the pointed rounds, right?
Andy there's a safety recall for this gun, manufacturer says you must return to them as unsafe and can fire if dropped!!
Reading more, its for guns shipped before Sept 2018 so presumably could only be a problem if bought 2nd hand
does the co2 leak over time?
Can you shot BB's out of a pellet gun without damaging it?
Why does mine sound really loud like a real pistol. I used 12g co2 but sounds so loud
They totally one upped the Sig!!! " (Sig)=" I caught an 18" Rainbow trout!".....(Walther)=
"oh that's a nice one...I actually just caught a 19" Golden trout!!
I have the first gen ppq and love it, been following this one since it was announced a couple of years ago..still not available in the States yet, but hopefully soon. I think that belt system is by far better than Sigs
Have you reviewed the Umarex Colt Commander 1911?
I have this model and find a lot of "misfires" after shooting. 21 pulls of the trigger does not equal 21 pellets expelled 🤷♂️
The M1 fits in to an M2 holster.
Love to see a review a thoeben rapid mk2
Another great vid cheers
nice!
(ever thought of looking at paintball weapons?)
What is model and number of that light / laser? Nice pistol i want one now ...good Andy ...good!
How odd, I was literally offered one of these just as this video was posted.
Keep up the great reviews,
If you could possibly review a hatsan factor please 😊
There is new glock 17gen5 pellet pistol on sale!Let’s have a look?
The trigger pull is horrific Why ? Before returning I am asking why Tks mate for posting.
Can this be loaded with 4.5mm BB’s instead of pellets ?
Lock open after last shot?
Good morning Andy, this is a fabulous pistol. Some great features, that adds to its appeal. I've just got one gripe ?. The loading of pellets is going to be slow. Iam just been picky.
Yes i would buy this pistol.
Great Review Andy, lots of great info. Thank you for your hard work.
Take care. Best regards Simon from York England 🇬🇧
Good morning Simon , I have had the pistol from launch here in UK and in regard to the loading it actually becomes pretty smooth and quick once you have a technic in place, if you pick one up I am sure you will be very happy with it. I added a good quality case and X300 weapon light to mine👍🏻
@@dobbo4596 Good morning, thank you very much for the information. I will buy one in the near future 👍🏻. Yes i always get a good case for all of my pcp rifles n pistols. Glad you enjoy yours. Hope the rain stops today, so i can do some target work.
Nice talking with you today. Take care. Simon from York
@@andrewdavies3584 Thanks sir, I’ll check one out.
Thank you I have been looking for this info, I am a cz fan and been looking for an honest opinion.
YOU LOVE THOSE 'TORCHES' DONT YOU!
HOW can the slide be removed ??
Good review
Great Video
What's the trigger like on this one? Is it heavy?
Is it just me, or is it really a bit louder than most of the CO2 pistols you've reviewed previously?
I have owned mine from UK release day and when at the range a few people commented on the noise.
NOT A TARGET GUN! Yep. Agreed 👍. And when will we see that target gun ?🔫🤔😀
Umarex is the King of Air Guns...
