- Hey guys. I wanted to share with you how I refurbished (so to speak) my beautiful vintage classic LV Speedy 25. I hope this may give others some ideas, but please remember I am not telling anyone the NEED to do this - that is totally up to you. These are simply the things I did to my bag to make it more user-friendly for my lifestyle and I LOVE it.

I love this idea of adding the d-rings. Can you tell me how it has held up? I recently bought a vintage Lv classic speedy 30. I love the bag but don’t know if I will use as much because of only having the hand held option. I know for sure I would grab it if I had more carrying options. But it’s such a beautiful bag that I couldn’t resist buying it.
Hiya! This is exactly what I am planning to do right now. I bought a 1994 speedy 35 mono classic and am having my cobbler attach drings and I am also going to use a piece of leather like a washer in between the screw to minimise damage. How is this holding up? Do you use it often as a shoulder bag /crossbody? I plan to use mine for work and will use it more as a shoulder bag rather than a crossbody. Hoping it comes out good! 🤞🏼🤞🏼 also planning to buy a sequinned guitar strap like you have to add a pop of color that I saw on Etsy! Thanks for sharing!!! Pls do a follow up video!
If you want to unlock the lock, you can search for a key secondhand with a number that matches the lock!

Great video! I applaud you for putting on the D rings. Why not customize your bag? Good for you. Have you considered putting a flat plastic washer on the inside between the screw and the D ring to stabilize and support the canvas? It will also keep the screw from loosening.

Is there any way to know how much weight these screwback rings will hold? I want to do this, but I have a medium/large bag that I carry a lot in.
I AM GOING TO COPY YOU! Your D-ring solution makes the bag 5 times more usable. You can have all kinds and lengths of straps to add, for fashion and utiliy. And in the category of modifying the bag to make it more user friendly, I have installed brass grommets on the leather holes where you hang the padlock. That way the leather doesn’t stretch and look like your great-grandma’s pierced ears! Also it looks really good, more finished. I can’t believe the designers didn’t think of this.
Seeing that D ring through the leather makes me tear up a little 🤣🤣🤣
Alina Miller you mean the screw back through the canvas? Yeh I wouldn’t suggest doing this to a brand new Speedy. I only did this to this cutie as it’s vintage and a keeper. Tbh I’ve been using her as a hand carry more lately but it is nice to have the cross body option.
@@thetrulovelife8431 I mean, whatever works best for you. I have a speedy 30 that I'm thinking about maybe turn into a bando. I usually attach the strap to the handles but I don't really like doing that and don't wanna damage it. I wonder if there's a way to actually attach strips of leather and have D rings attached to those. Kinda like the real speedy bando.

For cleaning it, baby wipes are not recommended for the vachetta. It can cause them to dry out and crack. Be careful 😊😊
LouisVuittonCoffeeLver good to know hun. There are so many backs and forth on that out there. Some people say it works great but others like yourself say it’s a no no..lol. Personally I like saddle soap and condition straight after.
@@thetrulovelife8431 you can use non alcohol, water based baby wipes like the Huggies Natural and then use Mink oil to condition it.
Have you noticed any tearing in the canvas we’re the holes are punched ?
Actually no. I have to tighten up the screw backs sometimes but so far so good 😁
A tiny dab of loctite would solve having to tighten ever so often. Thanks for the video!

Oh yah!! It makes such a difference with mine. I admit I have been tempted to get the newer regular speedy and just do this same hack...although I would have to be sure its a keeper as resale value may be affected.
