I make a foaming soap in a foam dispenser of 1 part Castile soap and 3 parts water. It removes all dirt and grease gently with a soft brush and rag. I then condition the canvas with Armour All low gloss. I clean the brass with Tarn X and it does a good job without worrying about staining the vachetta. I clean the vachetta the same, with a soft brush and the foaming soap then condition it also with the Armour All. It soaks in but doesn't change the color of the vachetta. I oil the zipper, then wipe all the brass, and clean the inside with the foam soap and a rag and pull the lining out to dry with a hair dryer. Some people use Magic Eraser and Armour All Leather Cleaner for the vachetta to make it look new.
Me remembering nearly all the bags from the jag collection in HIDUPZ other apartment on the dimond tray.. I think i watched that video like 40 times. Purse collection goals..
Really great that you appreciate that vachetta (actually just untreated cow leather, vache = cow in french) should age and darken with time. Too many people try to keep their vachetta in original, that is, the light pink new condition, completely missing the point and ruining their bags long term. Best to avoid the use of baby wipes which do not have the correct pH for leather. Over time the use of baby wipes will destroy the leather and you will need to replace parts. As you cannot replace them individually (well, you can but they will look odd, being at different stages of darkening) you will be up for the high cost of replacing all the vachetta leather. Better to be conservative with cleaning, as Carlitos is doing. One thing I'd caution against is using very sharp points like a needle to clean because it will tear the leather. But overall a really good job, and avoiding the use of water. Well done! I've done the same on treated leather, and managed to smooth out a nasty water stain so it's imperceptible. I'm yet to take on an Alma but will do it. Enjoy your bag! It's beautiful and you should enjoy something with its imperfections, that is a healthy attitude to life!
The leather has to be cleaned and nobody evidently will accept this reality. I'm fixin to use a s**load of water to clean the leather on my LV. Not baby wipes, though, I'll skip that trite suggestion from some people...the bag's been living in the South and there's a lot of germs and things have to be sanitized and cleaned...too bad so sad!!!!!
Wow you did such a good job!! You are very detailed and very patient...I don’t know if I have that patient to do it😂😂😂 I probably would get mad at some point. You are like a doctor who performs a procedure with care and love. Thank you for sharing!!
TYSM! I could have gone more in depth with the cleaning but I wanted to maintain the vintage look to it! 😇 it’s my current favorite! Thanks for watching!
Using a moisture-proof cabinet for luxury bags is crucial as it prevents mold and mildew growth, preserves the bag's shape and structure, protects hardware and embellishments from corrosion, and guards against color fading. As I know LENTHEM patent dry cabinet can solve this problem perfectly.
Really helpful video! Ive just bought a vintage LV from the late 80s and it desperately needs a clean, it has a bad smoke smell, what do you recommend? Just subbed
Jajajajaja you’re so funny 😂😂. I just got one bag from 89 and I just used a leather cleaner and conditioner. There were some brown stains coming off the vachetta once I started cleaning. Not sure what it meant but it did moisture the leather. The hardware on it is like brass, not sure it’s gonna become shiny like yours did 🤔. I also think the bag was lightly used because it’s in a nice condition as yours 🤩🤩 (with some tiny cracks here and there)
My speedy 25 is a vintage bag also. The zipper pull is split and is going to eventually come apart. I plan on taking it into Louis Vuitton to have it sent out to have all the leather replaced. It will cost over $ 500 but it will look like a brand new bag. She will look so pretty with a facelift. Lol
love your instructions. could you use a little rust removal, like a brass cleaner, or Wd1040 oil. I can actually smell the chemicals. lol What about the hardware and brass holders.
Spending $20,000 on a handbag vs spending $200 on a *hidups* bag and investing the remaining $19,800 is the obvious choice since a $20,000 bag is unlikely to increase in value
I don't understand why people laugh. This is the best cleaning I've seen here so far. Very carefully without ruining the bag.
That's how it has to be.

I'm fixing to do what you're saying, No guts...No glory, LOL.

You were so brave with that lighter. I enjoy a good cleaning.
omg this is the best and funniest louis vuitton cleaning video ever 😆
You're definitely a joy to watch clean your vintage speedy! Thank you.

My son was in Aguascalientes, Mexico and I had him bring me that oil. Can’t wait to try it
Love your instructions! They were simple and detailed, right down to using the Brasso. Thanks for sharing this with us.

This is awesome! I have a speedy older than yours! 💕
Ohhh! There’s a video on it? I love super vintage LV pieces! 🙌🏾
Hello. What kind of moisturizer you can use for the canvas. I’m from Italy. I hope you can suggest something thanks
omg! never i waist my time with this style of cleaning bruuhhh

Aren’t you able to take or return to LV, to have them clean it an replace any missing? Just asking?
Great tips! I need to give a couple of my bags a good clean... i just need a lot of patience 🙈
I know! My Alma BB has so much dirt behind the tabs! It surprised me it was dirty because I use it a lot!

Hhahahhaha Love it! So funny Lol
how do you clean the inside?
I use toothpaste to clean the hardware to my LV and it works really good
Super good job!
Excelente. Gracias
Thanks for sharing!
What did you use to clean the monogram?
Lovely
Wow you did good job.amazing
Your presentation is excellent and you are charming! What a delight!
I wonder how much you bought this bag for?
What oil is that you used ?
Watching from Dubai I have speedys LV
Saddle soap has been used on all leather goods for years… don’t be scared saddle soap works!
I love using saddle soap! It was able to remove a water stain off my vachetta. I use it on everything now
Do you think your LV Speedy has the same quality as the Speedy today? 😊
No.I have a vintage one too and the vachetta AND the canvas is thinner more delicate. Its not the same thick beautifil quality it once was.
love your instructions. could you use a little rust removal, like a brass cleaner, or Wd1040 oil.
I can actually smell the chemicals. lol
What about the hardware and brass holders.
Cover up the smell of the chemical somehow...I'd get some Glad spray and Febreze and load it down.
🤍
Like nice
I think that did Jesus to help you❤❤❤❤❤
Oh~please Jesus help us 😝
Tu inglés no es muy bueno 😢, sería genial que hicieras el video en español porque tus tips parecen muy buenos .
His English was excellent..
His English is great. And he gave a master class!
His English sounded very good to me and his charisma and love for the vintage piece made his video enjoyable to watch.
