Also for the cleaning of the inside brass buttons----just put washi tape on the vachetta. The non sticky kind while you clean the brass. That should work. Any way. The bags from the 80's and early 90's quality was so great. Both of my Speedy 25-30 canvas are nice, and not so thin. Also, my Alma MM is late 90's. Again, great quality. Love your item. Blessings 🙏
I bought a vintage speedy off of Poshmark. The speedy was a special edition that was made by Saks of 5th avenue in the 70's. I spent 140. I had the zipper replaced. Love the bag, especially the leather on the bottom and because of this the canvas is not upside down. The bag is genuine and of great quality. The shoe repair shop was able to put in a brass zipper.
Great find! I clean my Brass with Bar Keeper's Friend, and wipe the Vachetta immediately with alcohol free wipes after applying the Brass cleaner. I repeat the process as many times as needed. I find that it helps to keep the Brass cleaner from staining the Vachetta.

Hey Autumn, thank you for your advice on purchasing an older bag. I returned the damier ebene because the canvas was way too thin and you had suggested getting an older bag from 2006 and before and I purchased a speedy 30 monogram from fashionphile that's 25 years old and I absolutely adore it! It's in impeccable condition and the handles are a beautiful honey color. I'm so happy I went with pre-loved instead of new.
My first preloaded Speedy 35 is on it’s way, am Nd I’ve been concerned that it might be too large, but yours doesn’t look ginormous. I already have an organizer that will fit. Yours is lovely!

Hi Autumn! Just found you channel and love it. My first "big girl bag" was a speedy ( I think 25) and I picked it up in 89. Yep it's almost 40 years old and still looks great. Your video made me pull it out and show it some love. Lol never knew about the date code thing inside and was tickled to turn up the pocket and find it.
Oh, how fun! I just found a stamp on it that I didn't know about. On the leather trim that lines the opening of the inside pocket, on the top middle of the trim it says "made in france." I'm not sure if yours will say anything but look for it. Did you know they stamp the size on the bag, too? You know those two tabs on the ends of the bag, one of which has a hole to attach the lock? It's on the underside of the other tab (the one without a hole). It will say 25 or 30 or whatever size your bag is. It might have faded away by now, though.

Fascinating is my date stamp is MI 8910 in two lines, the MI is above the 8910. If I hadn't purchased the bag at the LV store on Hong Kong island I would wonder about this format. Oh I took your recommendation and subscribed to Lee Lee Lv and will be following her conditioning video soon. Speedy is in good shape overall but probably about time the handles were cleaned and he was shown some moisturizer!

Anywho, you asked about using brass cleaner, I use the cream and I don’t have issues with getting in on the vachetta if I’m careful Try that, I use “Wright’s copper and brass cream” got on Amazon And it cleaned up my hardware beautifully!! Tip: don’t leave on longer than 5 minutes before you wipe and polish off with soft cloth. Think I damaged a piece that I accidentally left on over night. Oops. Thanks for you videos. Do you have suggestions on how to clean parts of the canvas crevices or pockets that have slight mold odor. I hear Japan is very moist and I received a bag that needs a little cleaning in that department. Will very diluted bleach water harm my bag??? Thanks again

The lining is wrong, ( she said the previous owner had it relied). I can’t find a date code. And the zipper pull is different. How do I get a authentication? Thanks for any help. Beth
Did Louis Vuitton say why the tab was on backwards? I thought Louis Vuitton had a strict quality control and would not let that bag leave the factory with such a major flaw.
Hello! I really enjoy watching and learning from your videos. Do you have an suggestion on how to get rid of a smelly Louis Vuitton Saumur 35. I purchased preowned on eBay. It smells like smoke and an old basement mildewed. I’ve cleaned two times inside and out. Also I have dryer sheets inside it now. I haven’t bought coffee beans yet to try. I also used the Apple cleaner and conditioner. I have it turned inside out currently. I accept any tips that work. Thanks
I haven't had that issue yet (luckily) so I don't have suggestions other than to join the Louis Vuitton Addicted group and ask them. I know I've seen that question there many times. :)
Check out the last photo here. go.magik.ly/ml/1ophc/ Looks like it's stamped on a tab under the pocket. If you don't see it then it's possible the stamping faded. That can happen on leather.
@@AutumnBeckman there is no pocket flap I have 10 speedys in my collection. This one was listed as a 30 it’s really 35 cm the interior looks like the person that owned it redid the interior with a cloth like material so there’s nothing it’s so weird called the real real they gave me a date code i asked them where is it on the bag they replied you can turn the bag even though it was a final sale. Beautiful color bag I little bigger than I like but if I ever sold it no one would buy it with no date code
@@AutumnBeckman I finally found the date code instead of you typical date code placement the date code is on a piece of leather that has to cloth pockets ant the leather tab is inside weird
Great bag! Date codes at that time represented the month (not week) and year, so 0940 means it was made April 1990 🤗

When you use brasso I use a q tip and put plastic around the leather. I cut pieces from a zip lock bag. Very nice piece great shape.

She said she thought it might have been replaced previously and they put it on backwards. Who knows, though.

The canvas is coated so you can use a rag with water and/or a mild soap or an alcohol free and fragrance free wipe.
