Personally I find that the only 911 that worth it is the Turbo S (not the same category) , the others 911 are barely different . Moreover , 911 became turbocharged , don't make such a great noise than this 5.0 NA V8 and are way too overpriced . Also Lexus reliability is infinitly superior than Porsche's

The other commenter gave you a reasonable rebuttal to the statement you had made and your going off of brand reputation. Just because GM's have a terrible reputation does not mean that the corvette isn't a stellar option, and with the argument about how it is a luxury sports car and the corvette isn't, I would sure hope and expect that from the Lexus given the price point. I'm just saying the Lexus is great and all, but compared to the corvette (which it really shouldn't be) the corvette still holds its own as a bargain and reliable vehicle

Have you ever driven one? Then how the HELL can you claim it's fun to drive? It's a heavy pig, and slow, unless you pin the throttle until the RPM's get over 4000.

I've owned an LC500 for 2 summers now, 2021 will be the third driving season (Alberta and BC). Hands down, my favorite car. We tested many Benz, BMW, and Audi cars, and nothing was as good as the LC500 in my opinion. It gets looks everywhere, constantly, and with that sound, interior, and even comfort doing highway driving, I doubt I'll find a better car in the next couple of years.

Yup. A few more years if/when Lexus finally fixes their infotainment (next year is supposed to be a major change) and this is perfect. A dream car that you can actually keep for years.
Toyota really should have made the Supra a rebadge of this. I never understood how they had a great FR coupe and couldn’t simply rebadge it. Hell, they could have thrown in the Camry’s V6 to bring the price down and I think a lot of people would have been fine with that.
@Justinian Yi No, it does NOT do "everything right". It's gutless, under 4000 RPM, where you spend 99% of your time. A 3L BMW turbo wastes it, in usable performance. Lexus hasn't figured-out that peak HP numbers do not make great motors.

not everything has to be a smartphone/touchscreen. car companies need to get more hard buttons and knobs back into dash controls.
Buttons are also more safe cause you don’t have to look at the screen while driving
They build them to last n touchscreens dont last
But then when Mazda did it, people complained it wasn't a touchscreen (by reviewers who definitely don't test while driving like Straightpipes do) I think their interiors are the most logical though

I'm pretty sure it's mainly because it's cheaper to not have to implement buttons while they could just program software to do the same thing and save money

This is such a beautiful and timeless design. It will be an instant collectable in the future. With low production numbers and being rare, I much rather have this than any Mercedes or BMW. I bought a yellow 2020 LC500 and it has been totally reliable and a joy to drive.
Where I live you frequently see various AMGs, M cars and Huracans etc. However today was the first time I saw one of these in person and it’s ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Pictures and videos don’t do it justice. Stunning.

Best touring car I have owned. The Datsun 280z was great, and the seating of the LC and leg room similar. My Mercedes 1998 SL was a beautiful car. My Lexus LC is a joy all around.

I think what I love about the interior is how they didn’t break up the interior colors it’s all one color. It reminds me of like a 70’s kinda mid century modern home

The sound is AMAZING!! If I could afford this vehicle I would do a GT with my future significant other.
best color ive seen in a while. There was a charger special edition that was doing something similar, but was a little darker.

You should update bar graphs to be "Power and torque" and then include power in hp and kW like you do torque in lbft and Nm
I wish they'd go back to the old style of power and torque, the font and the way they overkill the delivery is so out of place, the old style was so sleek.
Beautiful car, love the details on it. I’ve not had the chance to drive one, but having sat in one I can confirm the Interior is beautifully built. It’s like a concept car you can buy. I love it.

I’ll be honest here, I work at a Lexus dealer and I’ve actually never experienced the bounce off the redline when I drive this car😂 love the car but I would take it in Infrared red with the toasted caramel interior with the performance pack😍

LEXUS LC500 JAGUAR F TYPE V-8, AND FORD SHELBY GT-350 MUSTANG. Three of the most savage sounding exhausts in all of autodom!
Lexus/Toyota makes one of the best V8’s on the market, had an ISF and that sounded amazing with the PPE exhaust and headers, and super reliable too. Agreed this motor should of been thrown in the new Supra and make it 100% Toyota and 0% BMW!

I remembered this car being in Black Panther, such a sharp looking car and Naturally Aspirated engine behind that. The potential for this platform is going to be insane. They cancelled the F sport version but still hopeful to see what can happen outside of that.

Such an underrated car. Love the looks of it. I think its far nicer looking than the new C8. Plus they are super rare. I've only ever seen maybe 3 in Toronto. It is more expensive though.
Bought mine in 2018 and nearly 5 years and 90,000 kilometres later, it still puts a smile on on my face every time I touch that starter button. I’ll never sell it - will still be as beautiful in 20 years as it is today (if not more so 🥰)

I didnt think I would have liked the infotainment, but after using it for a week the 2021 LC infotainment and manual knobs are actually quite good. Love the car
That's the thing! Once you use it and get used to it, it's all good. It's just the reviewers who have the car for half an hour and need something to pick on! If you like Lexus reviews, I've made a few on them. If you have time let me know what you think :)

@@KliFinancial yeah I was just checking to see how much they go for used and there’s so little to choose from. Need more buyers especially the kind who baby these and use them only on weekends so the mileage is super low.
Used early models dropped to 50k uk in early 2019, they are still hovering at 49k now. I fear I may have to jump now in case they actually start to go up... Also most used LCs are still under 15k miles.

My father just picked up a 2018 LC 500, and I love it! It is such a great daily and compared to my F80 M3 it’s so dang gooooood! Granted the infotainment is garbage, but when we went to the dealership, we got them to install Apple CarPlay as part of the deal. Also, this car looks so damn good and the sound is such a good match for this car. Anyways, great review as always, thanks for all the work you guys put in!!

I drove this car at a Lexus event and I loved it!
One of my favorite cars in GT-Sport it probably has one of the best sounding V8 in the game and it closely matches real life sound of the LC500

After driving the LC500 for almost 6 months now I realized that 1. You use the voice control, not the pad! 2. You use the automatic Climate Concierge system, not digging down into menus for adjusting seats heat/cooling etc..

MAN, TheStraightPipes really is the BEST review channel out there. And I mean it. There's NO bullshit. Their videos aren't carried by beautiful cinematic shots, or poetry-esque commentary - but they're 2 REAL dudes who talk about the car from a real user perspective. They point out all of the little nuances and unique features associated with each car that we just don't usually think about through a screen. Absolute legends.

@@TheG60528XiJinPing those are great cars, but the LC500 it's literally a concept car on the roadl It's naturally aspirated. Also, being a Lexus, owners don't have to worry about reliability. The 911 and the AMG GT are amazing. I don't know much about the F-Type.

Unplug the cables on the exhaust valves and you'll get more of that brillant exhaust note at more RPM's. Done mine 1st day I picked up my 2018 and never looked back!
What cables are you referring to? The ones that hold the muffler to the chassis?

C8 Corvette for the money. I think they did a great job with it. More power and more torque. 0-60 in 2.9 secs. Plus it's the 1st ever mid-engine corvette. It starts at like 60k. This car starts at 93k, the Benz over 100k, NSA is like 160k, Porsche around 100k, BMW M8 130k, Jaguar 123k, Audi 142k.... yeah I'll take the C8 and have money for gas for years.

What BMW built and Toyota refined and tuned is an amazing Machine. Esp for the money. I like the new Supra. I just think it would’ve gotten a lot less pushback from purist and enthusiasts if Toyota had built it from inside ground up Toyota is all. The new Supra is not a Toyota....it’s a BMW with a little bit of Toyota tuning.

Own a 17 GSF and went to test drive this. Felt pretty much the same, driving wise. Interior and exterior are incredible but bang for the buck, I'mma save to get a Supra and mod it to build power.
Makes sense if you want the fastest car for your money, but that's not why people buy this car. They buy it for the experience, for the uniqueness, etc. Lexus knows this isn't as fast as the competition and that's the trade-off made for the character. (Personally, I feel that once you start getting much faster than this, you don't get to fully enjoy it on the road )
Not from my experience (only drove 2 ISFs) but from others: GSF drive better than LC and much better then RCF being more practical. And as you said priced better as well.
@@boguszn1978 a GSF is a 4 door sedan I hope it's a nicer ride than the LC sports car GT. They're not even in the same league man, that's like saying an E Class rides better than an AMG GT. That shouldn't be surprising that's how it's supposed to be

Great review. I own this car and the exhaust note is unlike any other car that I have owned such as BMW M3/M4/M5, 911 S and Shelby GT350! Lexus truly nailed it from every angle!

Agree LC500 has everything what one classic GT car must have. NA V8 check, Sound check, Interiror check, comfort check, cabrio option check, exterior design check, fast enough check.
With the decisions that Toyota/Lexus had been making recently, I'm expecting them to discontinue this car within the next 2-3 years and replace it with a FWD hybrid crossover.
My favorite Lexus atm.. I can’t get enough of this car and holy crap this green is such a nice colour. Black interior would compliment the exterior much better imo. Dream car.
