Using mini serving tongs work great instead of a peg which if you squeeze releases garment where as the tong you can grip tighter and move from area to area quickly.
OMG! I’m so glad I found your post! I’m new to steaming. Found a steamer at a garage sale and never used it. So today was my day. I wanted to steam a shirt plus a New jogging suit. Thanks for the tips 💜
I used my handheld steamer today for the first time in -ages when using wrinkle release spray didn’t remove the wrinkles in sweaters that have been stored. I’ve always moved the head from top to bottom, but found if I started at the bottom and moved up slowly, it gave the steam time to perpetrate and then the head kinda smoothed out the fabric. Using the clip to hold the edges is a great idea.
I thought I knew about steaming clothes but you've taught me a few tricks! The Cutting Board, the clip, steaming from the inside .... awesome thank you so much!
Oh my gosh. I’m so glad you did this video. I’ve never steamed anything until watching your videos and while I’ve gotten better at it, I’ve burned myself many times. Thank you for all the tips/hacks. I can’t wait to try them out. Btw, amazon should be given you something too, I’ve purchased so many things from them that were recommended by you😊
Amazon does give her something. Affiliate payments. This is nothing but a commercial. Try steaming anything heavier than a t-shirt and that steamer isn't nearly as impressive. Hang those in the bathroom while you're showering and get the same results!
Thank You for this video. I was researching steamers this last weekend and watched many youtube videos. This was THE BEST. Extremely helpful thank you. I feel more confident with purchasing one now.
I bought a J-4000 a few years ago, and while pricey, the Jiffy’s are made here...and are super high quality! Well worth the money IMHO. Thanks for the video!
Great video, I have the Jiffy pro steamer which is not about 5 years old and going excellent and that is the thing that is most important for me, I made a big investment but it has paid off. I use it for my family laundry, and other items as well. The clip is a great idea, I would just be concerned with some finer fabrics, which is why I did purchase the gloves from Jiffy I believe that are heatproof for steaming, they have saved my fingers !!! Also, the board for collars is a great idea especially if it is not 2 layered fabric which is troublesome no matter what, for that, I use upward motions with the steamer head to get out those tiny wrinkle lines. Great job with the video and tips !!!
I've watched this twice already LOL My husband surprised me with a Jiffy steamer recently, it's one of those grey bottom ones and the water goes in the grey part, and I have to use a funnel to fill it, you have skills LOL I've been using the Clothespin trick, BUT the cutting board is genius!! You are so full of amazing information, Love your vids so much!!
Thank you so much for sharing your tips. I carry a not so portable handheld steamer in my bag so I don't look like that pilot who slept in his uniform and has been wearing it for days lol.
Great Jenna! I'm off for a little cutting board later. One thing though; I find residual fragrance to be problematic, those chemicals are unregulated and can be toxic. Have debated whether I can continue reselling with exposure to heavy dryer sheet scents, especially during the steaming process. Personally not a fan of adding any fragrances and believe fragrance-free will be preferred in the future. It's a mask IMO.
Ugh, yes, heavy dryer sheet scent makes me gag and irritates my skin! I see people saying they tuck dryer sheets in their inventory boxes sometimes and I would be so annoyed if I ever got anything from them haha. This spray seems different than that, though. Just a one note, natural scent that's probably just lavender oil (hopefully).
Hi Jenna I wanted to purchase this stranger but I was just wondering what the difference is with the metal head and plastic head. Is the one with plastic head good? Thanks
Should I do the same to branded shirts in various makes before handing them over to customers. Coz sometime I receive a very costly shirt in a messed up condition specially cotton ones.
Are there fabrics you shouldn't steam at all? Like stuff that says dry clean only or cashmere/silk? Or is it ok since they aren't actually getting fully wet? Thanks for this video! I'm going to order the lavender spray. :D
Hi Jenna! I came across your channel a few days ago and have been hooked. Your videos are great! Thank you for taking the time to give us so many useful tips! I am a part-time Poshmark seller. So, all the information you have provided has been extremely helpful. In case you are thinking of new video content, there are two topics that I would love to see a video on in the future! First, similar to your video on jean brands, I would love to see a video on band/concert/festival T-shirt and Tank brands to look out for when thrifting. This is definitely one category where my Posh closet is lacking. Second, I would love to see a video addressing what you do when items DON'T sell. I struggle with gauging when it is time to let go of a listing that just won't sell. How long is too long when it comes to hanging on to items? Thank you again! And thank you in advance, if you choose to produce either of my video suggestions! Best, Yuliya
Helpful video. I laughed at the lavender spray. Surely "they" have invented a spray that doesn't smell like Grandma's closet by now. But I want a want to buy a steamer that works well for linen shirts and shorts. Thanks for the tips.
Found your videos and love love them. I learned everything from you. Im not a reseller just and older mom who raised three kids shopping at thriftstores. Now I shop just for myself and buy the brands you suggest. Thank you
Hi ibask this question before but i can't find it. I just want to know if you just use distilled water all the time ? I still have the steamer getting clogged. I tried boiling the water adding vineger but none work. Because the steamer uses a lot of water. Buying. Distilled gallons can get exspensive.
I believe this would take the place of washing, I have gone the washing route after selling items and have ruined them. So I think ill be buying a steamer.
Oh and I like the idea of the scented spray, kinda how I stumbled upon this video, I’m a big fan of your already. But I’ve been using dryer sheets to help scent my clothes. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for this video! I always hear you talk about steaming but it just has not the effect I want ... probably operater error ! 🙄 I will definitely try your hacks!!
A couple other advantages to steaming over ironing and washing or dry cleaning. You won’t burn the garment... ...and you can reduce fabric damage from excessive exposure to the dry cleaning chemicals. The heat of the steam will sanitize...
@ByeBitch 《 I agree with plain water out of the faucet bc I left the water in the tank for a while and it got slimy...haven't tried the distilled water trick mentioned in this video...Wonder if it's different...
I am actually in the market for a new steamer and was looking into jiffy 2000. I’ve heard the metal head is not worth the weight and the heat. What do you think? Should I get metal or plastic?
i guess im asking randomly but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Zaiden Deandre i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Jenna-LOVE your videos! What background do you use for your clothes on hangers? Looks like you only use white hangers too? Would love to see a video in backgrounds for clothing pix. 😘🤗
Hi Jenna- was wondering what happened to your Conair steamer? I just went out and bought that one last week, as I value your experience and suggestions. Haven't used it yet! :)
Hi! I gave that one to my sister. It still works and is a great budget friendly option. I used it for a few years, but wanted to upgrade to something more powerful. The Jiffy steams faster, but the Conair works as well!
Yes, I do steam silk and satin both I have steamed ALL fabrics literally with no problems. You need a decent steamer like the Jiffy or another reliable brand that doesn't spew our water which some steamers can do. I use the larger Jiffy that is seen here, and also mist with Downy Wrinkle Release which is very helpful for fast steaming, yes I lightly mist sild and satin, lightly !!! On other fabrics I even have a mist bottle for really wrinkled pieces, it may take a min. to "dry" but with the steam, the clothes look great. The professional Jiffy is worth the investment, we use it for everything from bedding, to well you name it. But the steamer she uses here is great too, it depends upon your needs.
Thank you again for sharing the videos. I am wondering what you do with items that have a perfume issue. Steaming seems to sometimes bring it out even more and even washing might not take it all out. Do you ever have problems with this?
When she put the chopping board under the shirt collar and went over it 3 or 4 times, I'm thinking "yeah, whole shirt would've been ironed by now"... 🤷♀️
Great video, thank you! I love that I was looking for tips/a refresher cause it's been a while....and I have the same steamer as you. Super convenient. :)

We have the same steamer. It was the first thing I bought when I started my vintage clothing business. I use it for my personal stuff too!
the clip and cutting board are new tricks to me! very clever!!
Some good tips, though the clip on the cuffs seems a bit fiddly. I wonder if tongs would work
Cutting Board!? Uhm GENIIIIUUUUUS!!!!
feeling the love...there is something deeply comforting about watching the wrinkles fall out. Also i want that steamer!
It is a game changer!
Thank you so much! I just purchased a steamer from Target and came right to your video to learn lol.
I just got a steamer and I am so grateful for the hacks! Thank you so much! You have been a great mentor!!!

The cutting board hack is awesome!

Great tips! Can you show a picture of your lights and how you set up your area to take photos? Thanks!
Very helpful, thank you! Extra points for the freshly-steamed Pink Floyd shirt. 😀

Yeah it’s gross when I order clothes from poshmark and they are scented because I know the garment is full of Gross Chemicals
Not good for those of us that get migraines....
Great info, I'm waiting for an Amazon delivery of my first Jiffy steamer. Thank you.
Excellent tips. I love the clip and cutting board hacks. Genius!
Hi! Do you wash and steam the clothes?

I use a Ruwenta valet. Love it! But, it’s hard to get my shirts as “tight” as I like. I may add the IXEO.
You are so brilliant!! I have those clips and now I can use them! Thanks for all your videos. BECAUSE OF YOU, I'm a Newbie @PoshPowers!!
You're welcome! So glad it is helpful :)
Hi Jenna; Thank you for all your help. I’m new to Poshmark and a new subscriber to your wonderful channel. 💕
Do you wash your inventory before listing? Thank you
I believe this would take the place of washing, I have gone the washing route after selling items and have ruined them. So I think ill be buying a steamer.
do"h! Im always burning my fingers, never thought about a clip. Great Tips
I will use the two finger glover from hair ironing tools next time :D
Learn a lot from your hacks, thanks a lot
Great video! Have you ever noticed the jiffy spray leaving any spotting/staining behind?
Interesting info. Will it be easy to turn a garment inside out for steaming instead of putting steamer inside?
I picked up my jiffy steamer at value village for 12.99. I didn’t know I was suppose to use distilled water! Thank you!
Oh and I like the idea of the scented spray, kinda how I stumbled upon this video, I’m a big fan of your already. But I’ve been using dryer sheets to help scent my clothes. Thanks for the tips!

I just bought a steamer today or I have to give up reselling clothes I am selling nothing amd they look terrible thank you great video thanks for tip
Can I add the scented spray in the water compartment?
I found a used JIFFY for $100.. Love it so far
Does the stream spray do anything besides add a scent? I love the idea of a refresh type spray but not sure about adding anything with fragrance.
I am so glad you did this video! I have been struggling with steaming! LOL! Thanks so much!
You're welcome! The more you do it the easier it gets as well. You will get the hang of it!
Does the plastic or metal head make any difference? Just curious
A couple other advantages to steaming over ironing and washing or dry cleaning.

Your video is very helpful. Thank you!
Very helpful video ⭐️ Thank you so much!
Great tips! Do you empty the water after each use or leave it? Thx 💕
Emptying the water is not required unless you will be storing the unit for more than 2 weeks. Thanks!
@ByeBitch 《 I agree with plain water out of the faucet bc I left the water in the tank for a while and it got slimy...haven't tried the distilled water trick mentioned in this video...Wonder if it's different...
Thankx a lot for tour tutorial! I have a Jiffy J2 Steamer Im looking for accesories and the plastic head Steam for replace..?
Hi! Great tips! How do you get the wrinkles out of the hems and get a finish similar to ironing the hem?
I am actually in the market for a new steamer and was looking into jiffy 2000. I’ve heard the metal head is not worth the weight and the heat. What do you think? Should I get metal or plastic?
Thanks for the tips girl😀... very helpful😀❤️😀❤️
for home use in 2021 is this necessary? most dryers have a refresh or wrinkle care setting that uses steam mine does.
I have been LOVING watching your videos while packaging orders, just an idea: you should start a podcast series about your poshmark journey and tips!
i guess im asking randomly but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Byron Ellis Instablaster ;)
@Zaiden Deandre i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.

Yes! Great idea! I have a silicone one and will give it a try 🙂
Jenna-LOVE your videos! What background do you use for your clothes on hangers? Looks like you only use white hangers too? Would love to see a video in backgrounds for clothing pix. 😘🤗
Hi , do clothes stay wet after using steamer ? I live in Vancouver and weather is really humid here.
Hi Jenna- was wondering what happened to your Conair steamer? I just went out and bought that one last week, as I value your experience and suggestions. Haven't used it yet! :)

haha this is so soothing to watch!
Where is the best place to steam clothes, the closet or a bathroom where there is a vent fan to pull out the steam?
@empty hanger- DUMB QUESTION- do you steam silk and satin items?
That's definitely not a dumb question 💕 wish someone would've answered you. I just bought one yesterday and I'm wondering the same thing lol

If you look in the video description, she links to her reseller favorites on Amazon. There's an odor remover for laundry on that list!
Hi how do you clean your steamer?
Thank you! ❤
does the jiffy spray work on full leather jackets?
this is the second video I watched on steaming... still not getting it
T.T
It’s because she always has a top of the line steamer...
When she put the chopping board under the shirt collar and went over it 3 or 4 times, I'm thinking "yeah, whole shirt would've been ironed by now"... 🤷♀️
Thank you SO much, so so helpful!!! I'm doing the cutting board one for sure!
Distilled water: I use my brita filter pitcher. Way cheaper than buying distilled water by the jug.
Even at a $1
Great tips!
Where or how do you make or buy you empty hanger tags that goes on your clothing???
Love these hacks!!!
Thanks! The clip tip is genius!
Thanks for the helpful tips! I really enjoy your channel. Tfs💕💕💕

What to do if I don’t have a clothes rack for hanging. Shower rod is too high
