- A live drum cam of the song Intra Venus from the Wintersun + Ne Obliviscaris North American tour 2018. Not the greatest pass I've done, but the lighting was fairly good on stage so it's quite well lit up. Hope you enjoy!
On this tour I had a lovely Pearl Masters birch kit, with my Pearl Reference brass 14x6.5 snare. Zildjian cymbals, Footblaster pedal trigger, Czarcie Kopyto pedals, Vic Firth drum sticks, Remo Emperor tom heads, Emperor X coated snare head.

Love this band ! Dan is such an amazing talent kinda makes what is essentially complex rhythms look effortless. Fantastic sound, all the band are awesome talents, can't wait to see you guy's in the UK next tour.

Great drumming (duh), but I'm so happy that bass is so audible here.
Always so Interesting to see random people actually try and critique this music. Never heard a metal act reach a level like this before. I was enamored with Opeth, periphery, all the staples of prog yada yada until I heard this song and now every other sound is so boring In comparison. This band is criminally underrated so much so that I actually am stooping low enough to spill my two cents on a UA-cam comment section a year old smh

Ne Obliviscaris is the band, Intra Venus is the song.
I hate drum triggers because on the other parts of the kit you can feel the difference on the dynamics, the different sound when he uses different strenght on the note (which is a good thing), but that doesn't apply for the kicks. I'm sure that single, isolated notes would have to sound way more powerful than those sextuples but when he's playing fast all i can hear is the kick, but no the rest of the drum

Nah It sounds like its just the mix theyre using to bring out the drums.
That's why the bass is so clear and the guitars are being burried.

Wtf with this double bass drum BPM? It sounds like quadra bass drum, but using only two.
It's only 230...Like, sure it's fast and impressive, but there's a billion youtube videos of people playing faster double bass.
Dan, i love your playing. You are a great drummer. But i wanted to say one thing. I noticed that you are playing same fills on all songs. I think it would be better to make fills more interesting. So offense intended. Good luck!!
Vahe Danielyan thanks man! i feel the same way. we try a lot of different stuff, but sometimes have to keep it ‘simple’ so other instruments can do their thing. it’s something i’m definitely working on though, and i really appreciate your honest feedback! cheers
