I wasn't a fan of this until I tried it, I replaced the jalapeno peppers with cayenne pepper, add ranch seasoning and everything else in the recipe. All I can say is gooooooodddd, thanks ❤

Guacamole is such a great dish. There are so many different delicious versions. The two key ingredients though are salt and avocado and that is where my first level up comes in. I add salt to the avocado before I start maashing. That helps to pull the oils out asa I mix it. My second level up is to pull out my zester and add some of the zest of the lime. That brings a hint of lime flavour without the acidity of the juice. I still use some lime juice, but not as much.

Tip: scoop the tomato seeds out before cutting. Keeps the guacamole from becoming too loose later. (if you have any leftover)🙂

Hey Unc 👋🏿 Long time no comment. I wanted to share an avocado 🥑 tip (since I see some in the comments). You can just pop the seed out of the avocado by pushing it out from the skin side. It beats wacking the counter to get the seed off the knife 🔪.

I would not do anything differently then what you did in your guacamole recipe. As a certified chef, I make my guacamole recipe pretty much the same as you do. I absolutely, love, love, guacamole! Sometimes I just halve a ripe Avocado, remove the pit and sprinkle the avocado with a little salt and pepper and eat it with a spoon right out the skin. I call an Avocado, Green Butter.
Ps. I up the game on fresh guacamole dip by deep frying some fresh Tortillas that I cut into triangles. Just be sure to put the fresh made chips on paper towels so that the oil will drain off. Sprinkle lightly with a little salt. And Bam, you got a match made in Heaven bon appétit

OK. I've been making guac for over 45 years using various recipes from just avocados with a few spices to what i call "busy" recipes, a lot of ingredients. I leveled off with one for the last 20 years, one with a few items. This has convinced me to get out of a rut -- a good rut because I've yet to find a bad guacamole -- to this recipe. I can just about taste the end result. A red onion is new as is lime juice. Looking forward to this one here in my kitchen.

Love guacamole! 😋 I would never use a whole lime for just 3 avocados, it would make it too tangy. I use lemon or lime juice basically for keeping the avocado from getting brown, not so much for taste. It takes away from the creamy, nutty taste of the avocado.
Tomatoes just seems better to place on top as a yummy garnish, not stirred inside the guacamole. It tends to make the guac soggy or something.
Also, serrano peppers are good in guac. They have more heat, the jalapenos are too unpredictable. 😊

Imma give you a secret of mine AB, adding a little bit of melted salted butter that you heat up with that minced garlic, in the microwave (dont get it too hot or it'll ruin the guac, you gotta add it when its at room temp). The butter being salted also helps limit use of salt of your own!

I've been making my own guac for some time but something was missing. I frequent a tex-mex restaurant near me and they have on the menu "made at your table" guac. I ordered this and watched what Hector was doing, and the one ingredient that I was missing was sour cream! Sour cream was the missing ingredient for me! I now add aboutish 3/4 cup of sour cream. I also used to use plastic wrap to keep from oxidizing but now I have a Guac-Lock, search Amazon, it's just about the right size for a 3 avocado recipe!

I do some catering and I make my guacamole dip as well. But to level this dip up you have to go with BACON bits on the top. Do not stir in until ready to serve. I also use egg yolks to stretch. However if you don’t know what you are doing …, be careful because it does change the consistency if you use too many. Then there is the scoop of cream cheese. All of these ideas bacon, eggs, and cream cheese aren’t all combined in one dip. But you can just play with it each time adding and subtracting to your liking.
