- Here's senior recital recording #6: Asuka's Song from Hibike! Euphonium (Sound! Euphonium). I transcribed Asuka's solo and reduced to euphonium solo with a 15-person wind ensemble. This is one of my favorite songs to play on euphonium, and I'm very thankful that my teacher was open-minded enough to let me play music like this on my senior recital.

Asuka’s solo was very warm and kinda nostalgic, but this one has the magical/disney feeling into it. I like both versions and great work.

if you stick around for the end credits of the sound euphonium movie, you'd hear an ensemble arrange, too. but that one kinda extends the embrace of the solo. this one's definitely disney'd up hehehe

@ジゼルJade This was my reaction as soon as the music began to play.
A few years ago when I was looking into ocarinas I came across this channel and found this multi-instrumentalist. I later looked into his channel and found out that his main instrument was a euphonium. It was the first time I heard the name. Fast forward to today and I just watched Hibike! Euphonium and when I look up asuka's song. Lo and behold Jordan Moore pops up. Funny how things work. Anyways I've rambled way too long thanks for the nice arrangement and introducing me to the instrument!

Also one more questing I know this is a 15 people wind ensemble what instruments did you Wright for and did you Wright for just specific ones like the 10 standard wind instruments for the Basic concert band plus double bass and percussion other that flute, double reads, clarinet, saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone, & low brass? Just wondering and the horn on this video is nowhere to be seen or is just hiding in the video again just curious but any ways gr8 job and good luck with every thing man.
the horns are directly behind the oboe and the clarinet in the blue. You can see the edge of there bells right below the chairs

love the arrangement, but what was the time signature for the part starting at 2:10? i am trying to transcribe the solo myself and i have that part in 6/8 but it feels kind of off
Edwin Yu Thank you! And when I transcribed that section, I wrote it in 12/8. The double bass is on the downbeats, and the horns are on the offbeats. I think it sounds off because the euphonium part doesn’t really play on the beats either.
