I first discovered this group about 5 weeks ago. I've listened to a lot of their stuff... and am consistently blown away. I stumbled upon a video of Henrik explaining how he uses his pedal setup for some of those amazing effects. This seemed more "mainstream" to me... for them, anyway. I saw it on my UA-cam feed earlier today and immediately jumped on it. Your reaction is the third time I've heard it (I listened twice earlier). Great reaction, as usual, Brad!

This video is a feast of Easter Eggs. 80s 'Stadium Rock' lighting, huge transparent drum kit, and multiple banks of "Rock God" keyboards. Aron with the pink sweatband, 'muscle-tee' (with Dirty Loops, in Def Leppard font?) and pink tights. Jonah looks part of a boy-band, with all the moves, and Elton John glasses. Henrik has the parody twin neck guitar, one neck headless, and four arms, tapping like a 'Rock-God' guitarist. Visually Hilarious. 😂The song matches.

Hmmm! Not sure about this from Dirty Loops? I think I prefer their music as it was. This is techno. I"m a big fan of the Loops but don't think I'll put this on a loop as I have with their previous offers.
If you've listened to their album "Loopified" this isn't so surprising. Their "techno" is the only music with techno vibes I've come across, that I actually like! :-)

First off, I LOVE Dirty Loops and I really like this song...already listened to it nearly two dozen times since it dropped a couple of days ago. That said, I’m surprised by the song structure. As is, It appears to have been written/arranged largely to showcase Henrik’s (indisputable) prowess on the bass. Anyone who’s followed DL for any length of time is already aware of Henrik Linder’s monster talent. There are few, if any, contemporary bass players that are in his league. With that in mind, was it a good idea - compositionally - to devote more than 50% of a 4:35 minute song to next-level bass gymnastics?
The current song structure features three “vocal” choruses (which have an amazing melodic hook) and two “instrumental” verses (featuring Henrik’s solos). I’m thinking the song could have been raised to the level of "Next To You" and "Follow The Light" if at least one of the verses (ideally the first one) featured Jonah singing! Obviously that would have required someone to write additional lyrics and come up with a melody that complimented the underlying chord progression, but the end result would have definitely been worth it IMHO.
The song has an anthemic, arena rock quality that’s arguably tailor-made for radio airplay. Unfortunately, I don’t see many stations putting it into any kind of heavy rotation when more than 2 minutes of its run time is devoted to effects-laden bass soloing. 😕
Interesting ideas…..
I tho see this song more as just taking the piss 😉

the intro sounds like 90s rock music...kinda giving me that same vibe of rock music from Rocky's IV movie when he was running and training hard on cold winter day before he fought Ivan Drago lol
90's was grunge/alt rock. The hair band/big rock anthem bands were basically gone by the mid-90's. This is 80's, not 90's. Rocky IV was also 1985.
