@@jasonoutlaw9996 I did have 1 shell that was a light strike. Part of my wonders of some of these issues are because it’s a 3.5” gun, and being able to handle the 3.5” shells makes it less reliable with 2-3/4” and 3” shells.
Whenever u was aiming at the duck did u not try to take the shell out and put another one in? Couldve been a bad shotgun shell. Also how often does it jam? No semi auto shotgun is gonna be 100% reliable every time u pull the trigger. Thats why glock dont make semi auto shotguns.
@@jaymassey531 once I got the click I ejected the shell that was in the chamber, I inspected the primer, there was no firing pin marks, reloaded it, and shot it later at a different duck. I know I have high expectations, and that is because of the reliable shotguns I’ve had in the past. Browning Auto 5 light twelve, Remington 1100, Browning B2000, and Franchi Affinity were all 100% reliable during my hunting seasons. And I expect that out of any modern shotgun.
@@ironspringoutdoors true. Ive been looking at getting either sbe3,browning maxus 2,beretta a400,or winchester sx4 for a cheaper option. I just have a old weatherby rn my dad gave me. Finally able to make some decent money and want a good shotgun. Which is why im watching some of the videos.
@@jaymassey531 I understand that. And this video is just me explaining my experience with the Maxus 2. I can tell you in my experience, I’ve had better reliability from the Inertia driven guns over my Maxus 2, and the SX4 is the same basic operating system. Now my brother in law has always has Beretta shotguns. My really liked his A300 and stepped up about 3-4 years ago with an A400 Xtream Plus. And it’s been a good shotgun for him.
Why not just get an A400 Xtreme Plus? It is an awesome duck hunting gun and they also offer it in 20 gauge. Although I do have the original Maxus in the Ultimate finish with a 3-inch chamber that I use for sporting clays, and I have never had an issue with it not cycling. Even light target loads.
@@jrowinski82 Honestly if I stick with the 12ga my next choice would be a Mossberg 940 Pro Watefowl. But if I decide to down size I would definitely consider the Beretta A400 Xtreme in 20ga.
I'm waiting for the update on the Sauer. Keep it up!!
Do you think it might have just been a lite primer strike or a bad primer? Had the shells gotten wet. This seems unrelated to the failure to feed.

I posted this video some time early this year. I noticed it was missing so I now reposted it.
