      The then Speaker, John Bercow, was a vain, pompous, self-important and unforgivably rude man. His greatest fault, however, was his palpable political bias, something utterly inexcusable in a Speaker of the HoC. The day he departed the House was a joyous relief.

    Funny how so many people in the world when an election is held and they don't win, they want vote after vote to get their result. It happened in Ireland when the Irish didn't want that cumbersome EU Constitution, the powers that be in Brussels wanted them to vote again. Didn't that happen with Portugal? Then the Scots independence vote, lost, so we want to vote again. Then the Brexit vote, lost that and now we want to vote again. The reason is cited that the British people did not vote for either May's deal or "No Deal." If I remember correctly, no one discussed a deal until after the referendum and the government mentioned a withdrawal deal. Personally having studied British history for 40 years, I have great faith that the United Kingdom can prosper without EU protectionism. The EU Commissars seem to have been more interested in punishing the UK for daring to want to leave, than being good neighbors. Its nice to hear some optimism coming from the front bench, although it never seems to happen when labour are on the speaker's right.

      What is wrong with people calling for another vote? Especially for the scotland and brexit vote, it can be conceivable that public opinion has changed. No one knew what brexit was like during the vote, it has become clearer now. For scotland, brexit might heightened the wish for their independence.

    • @streaky81
      @streaky81 4 роки тому

      They can call for a second ref all they like they aint getting one - and we'll have left the EU long before one could be organised anyway. Which by the way is why a vote of no confidence can't stop it.
