Superbrush: Turn your Android device into a drawing tablet for Windows
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- Superbrush clones the screen of your Windows computer on your Android tablet and relays pen input back to your PC.
Here's how to get started:
① Get the app from Google Play
② Download the Windows companion app from superbrush.app*
③ Connect & start drawing!
Superbrush supports PCs running Windows 8 or later with a suitable hardware video encoder. Practically all modern PCs have a hardware video encoder, but if you're unsure, you can use the testing feature in the Superbrush Windows app before purchasing to make sure your PC is supported. Visit superbrush.app... for more information.
Features
• Minimal latency
Superbrush uses hardware encoding to achieve the best possible latency with minimal performance impact.
• USB and Wi-Fi connectivity
Superbrush works well over a stable Wi-Fi connection, but USB connectivity is also available for maximum reliability.
• Full pressure and gesture support
Superbrush has native support for pressure sensitive styluses and multitouch gestures, because it is exposed to the operating system as a hardware multitouch display and digitizer.
Thanks for checking out the trailer! I have renamed the app superDisplay and added a whole host of features - so many in fact that I need to work on a new trailer for the Play Store. Check out superdisplay.app if you want to try the app. (It's free to try!)
hey, I downloaded superdisplay. How do I add additional shortcuts on it, like undo/control+z?
nvm, i see you hold the main button!
Could you please make it support amazon fire 3rd gen
Shit I should not have bought the pentablet! Ohhhhhh shit
Ho u change the name so that why I didn't get the apo first TvT
I just realized that the creator of an amazing app has the same number of subscribers on UA-cam as me. You really should have a lot more. :)
Haha, I'm not really a UA-camr though. (yet...?) I've been meaning to publish some videos on my projects and software but I've just been so busy with everything else that comes with app development. Wish you luck on your UA-cam endeavors!
@@kelocube tnx. One thing, I have a problem with downloading the PC version of the App. I tried every link and it always fails to connect
@@dinotainx8638 Hmm... Please try the troubleshooting steps at superdisplay.app/help#no-connection first, then send me an email to support@kelocube.com if you're unable to connect even via Wi-Fi.
@@kelocube Not that. I can't download my software from the actual site. It says the connection failed. In the internet
@@dinotainx8638 Oh, that's odd. Do you get the error directly after starting the download or later on during the download? The installer should be 28.1 MB.
It would be super cool if brad cowboy or some other big drawing tech reviewers did a review of this when they talk about drawing apps. I think a lot of the Android tablet users would flood to this. Love the work and communication you’ve been doing and I hope you make bank off your products haha
Thanks for wishing success. :) Brad already gave a shoutout in his top Android apps for artists video at the start of the year, which I'm very greatful for since it was what initially got the app off the ground. I'm making "ok" money, but maybe not as much as one might hope after two years of development. My aim at the moment is to keep maintaining the app and adding highly requested features, but I will also be spending time on future projects.
@@kelocube yeah id imagine its pretty tough with the sheer amount of market share the ipad has. The pace you've been updating has been pretty incredible though. 👍

It'll say connected but then keeps saying display not active after I click tap anywhere to return to windows?
Hi, great app. However I have a question. Is the pc version free because the Android version is paid? Please I need to know.
Hi there! Yes, the PC companion app is completely free of charge. You can download it at superbrush.app, and although the trial version is _still_ not finished, you can use the PC app to test for compatibility of your PC from the About page of the application. Hope this helps!
@@kelocube it really helps. Thank you.
Hi! Does the pen support work with any windows app or it's just optimized for drawing programs? I mean, can I use it (with the pen) to work on cad programs (like catia or solidworks) or Simulink?
This is the first app that supports pen input for android tablet. I've been looking for something like for a long time! Can't wait to try the free version
Hi Sara - yes, the app should work with all Windows applications, but some applications will need the Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet driver installed in order to detect pen pressure correctly. If your app supports Windows Ink out of the box, it should work with Superbrush without the additional driver. I will add setup instructions for those applications that do not support Windows Ink natively to superbrush.app once the trial is finished, but at the moment I've been super busy with other stuff so I haven't had the time to do this. I still reply to all support requests, so you can ask me if you can't get an application to work with Superbrush.
I love this app, but I'm too broke 😢

Hi, looking at this video and the comments, this app looks very promising. I still use the older version of Photoshop. CS6. But one of the comments seems to say CS6 isn't supported back few months ago with pen pressure. I wonder if this superDisplay app now supports Photoshop CS6 with pen pressure. Does anyone know?
Hi Ben, unfortunately CS6 is still not supported. I'm not quite sure yet if I will be able to add support for it in the future, but maybe...
Is it possible to connect with Bluetooth?
Ahhh so my problem is that I wanna become a game designer but I dontt have money for tablet drawing I liked your app but I don't have money to buy it is there any free version
U should reduce price or at least provide a trail for 3 days
Hi, I'm working on an update that will add a trial period, but it's not quite finished yet. Please see my comment to Thea for more info.
Heya! Before I ask anything, I want to say you are doing the lord's work! This is really awesome and I feel like Android is being taken more seriously for professional art, especially this year! Since Krita is finally for Android tablets and Chromebooks.
I've came over to research your app after I heard of Brad Colbow's video of the top 10 android art apps. It peaked my interest and I want to learn more about it before I invest ny money into anything.
I'm thinking of buying a galaxy tab s6 lite since I have $400 and then use the rest to buy this app. Ill be able to use Krita on the go with my tablet while also using it as a cintiq with my pc.
But what are the gestures you can do and how do you map them? Can you still use keyboard short cuts? If so, then do I have to keep my keyboard attached to my pc, or can I use a bluetooth or use an otg adapter to connect a keyboard to my tablet? These last two questions are optional to answer: Does it work with Chromebooks with EMR technology and does a tablet need an EMR stylus for pressure sensitivity? Like, can I use pressure sensitivity without a stylus and use my fingers instead? Also Im assuming this app runs on android marshmellow 6.0 and above.
Hi Sylvy, thanks for the kind words. I'll try to answer your questions to my best ability.
The current version on the Play store does not really support any gestures, but I'm working on an update which will allow e.g. zooming and cropping of the canvas in real time using touch gestures. Please take a look at the other comments for more info on this.
Keyboard / OTG support has been requested by one other user besides you, but I'm not planning on adding support for it in the next update. I might add this in a future update, but I can't promise this. Instead, the next update will include a simple on-screen button for an undo action (Ctrl+Z). Normal keyboard shortcuts will work just fine while using the app.
The app should work on a Chromebook, and pressure sensitivity will be supported as long as the Android device has pressure support. In other words, if pressure works in other Android apps (Krita, etc.), it will work in Superbrush as well. Actually, I did add a feature for emulating a pressure-sensitive stylus with your finger, but I wouldn't use it for anything but testing - it's just not a very good drawing experience.
The app works on all Android devices running Lollipop (Android 5.0) and later, so Marshmallow is supported. However, due to the sheer number of tablet/PC combinations, I cannot give a 100% guarantee the app will work on your specific setup right away. In principle the applications should work on all relatively recent Android devices and Windows PCs, so if you do encounter an error, I will be happy to help you and try to fix the error.
Let me know if you have any more questions!
@@kelocube Oh wow! That was a quick response. I had to do some chores for a bit and came back with this comment notif on my phone.
Thanks for clearing things up for me! Those are the main questions I was worried about. I have a Chromebook but it doesnt support Smart/EMR styluses. Although since pressure sensitivity is built into the app without a smart stylus, I can get a capacitive stylus. I should have said capacitive stylus instead of finger since thats a better alternative ^^´
@@furrygirlsylvy Well, a capacitive stylus may be better in terms of "handling", but I'm afraid it might give worse results than using your finger in terms of pressure emulation. The option I referred to uses the size/area of the tap to infer pressure, and I'm afraid capacitive styli will not give a very consistent reading for this value. Either way, it's a good feature for testing if you're interested in trying the app on your Chromebook. I'm adding a trial mode to the app; you can follow me on Twitter to get notified when it's finished.
@@kelocube Ah okie! So that is worst I see. For the trial imma test it out with my new s6 lite coming soon. I unfortunately dont have Twitter but I will revisit your profile on it for updates and spread the word on other social platforms. Again, thanks so much for this! I'm so excited to try this! Even if there is no trial coming, I'm still purchasing the app soon to help small app creators like you who deserve it^^

Hello Kelo, I have been a fan of your app for a while now. The app is GREAT, I mean like really good. Are you planning anything about making the app free? I sadly live in a poor country so I can't afford it. Thank you for developing this app :)
I have sympathy for people who are unable to spend the money, but at the moment the revenue generated by SuperDisplay is what enables me to continue making software, so I'm afraid I can't quite make it free. Unfortunately ads wouldn't cover anywhere near what would be required to maintain the app either. :/
Is there anything for win 7
Wanted to use it. I am using fire tab. Will it work? Wanted to test out myself, but blocked by paywall. At least you should give out a trial version first. I don't want to pay if it doesn't work.
I'm working on adding a trial mode and a bunch of new features to the app. The update should take about a month to finish, so check back soon! If you don't want to wait, you can always buy and refund the app if it doesn't work on your device, plus I'm happy to troubleshoot & fix issues if any arise. As for whether it works on the Amazon Fire: As long as your tablet is Android-powered and supports a pressure sensitive stylus, the app should work, so yes.

Do your app support pen pressure ?
Yeah, of course! Pen pressure is supported on all devices that have a pressure-sensitive digitizer (such as Samsung's S Pen enabled devices), but it won't magically turn tablets without native pressure support into ones that do.

Can't get pen pressure with Adobe Anime and now it's almost useless to me :( edit: (Samsung Galaxy Tab S4). For Photoshop, Illustrator etc. pen pressure sensitivity works but why not with Animate?
Hi EEROS! Looks like Adobe Animate only supports the outdated WinTab driver model and not the newer Windows Ink which Superbrush uses. There is a fix, however. Please download the Microsoft Surface Pro WinTab driver from www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49498. Click on download, then select the 32-bit and 64-bit WinTab drivers. Please download and install both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions regardless of which version of Windows you are using - I think the bittiness of the driver is tied to the bittiness of the program you are using and not the bittiness of Windows. Make sure to restart your PC after installation, as at least for me it didn't work before restarting.
@@kelocube Still not work :(
@@eeros4192 You're right, sorry for giving you incorrect instructions. The Surface Pro driver has fixed the issue for other applications, so I assumed it would work for Animate but it doesn't. I installed Animate and took a better look, and fortunately it looks like Animate can be configured to use Windows Ink instead of Wintab. Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Edit Preferences... -> Drawing, then switch Tablet Input to Windows Ink (Beta) and restart Animate. This should finally fix the issue.

@@xielus7973 Hey Xielus! I'm working hard on it and it's almost finished. Hopefully by next week I'll be able to release it for testing. Can you send me an email so I can notify you once it's out? support@kelocube.com
@@holycow6935 Sorry I forgot to reply to you! I think the latency is minimal, certainly better than what I've seen in other apps on the Play Store. I don't own an iPad, however, so I can't really vow as to which one you should get.
when you mean usb, do you mean the charger please respond.
You need to connect the device to your PC's USB port. The cable is the same as you would use for charging.
@@kelocube Thanks for telling me, also, does this work on medibang paint pro?
@@puffytheunicorn3876 MediBang Paint Pro will be supported in the next version, which will be released tonight, so please wait until tomorrow before buying or trying out the app if you want to use MediBang Paint with it!
O
what would make it even more great is for it to be free, not everyone can afford a drawing monitor, so people come here with great hope only to discover that it requires money.. (such a waste)... if you want to make people happy then you make it free, otherwise it proves that you did if for the money, if you really need money make a donation option, to look less like a thief
The apps is good.. but it detect my finger
You can disable touch by going to the Android app's settings and choosing Ignore all touches as the Touch function. Then you need to click the touch menu button in the top left corner until you see a lock, which indicates that touch is disabled.
@@kelocube if i disable it.. can i still rotate and zoom the canvas??
@@xxxzzzxxx227 You can rotate and zoom the whole screen when the app is in crop mode, but you won't be able to use app-specific gestures since the virtual touch screen will be turned off.
