Have been watching you guys daily for a while now and just want to say that these are some of the best reviews out there! Keep up the good work, thanks!
I have a 2010 CX9 I bought new, i just hit 83,000 miles on the car and it has not missed a beat! It drives great, is comfortable on the highway and gets decent gas mileage. I just did a 300 mile trip last night cruising at 85 MPH and returned 21 MPG. The one thing i will say that is the AWD is a little slow to kick in at times! But besides that its the best family hauler on the market!
I am a five-year mazda cx-7 owner, I have to say that it did much succeeded my expectations in a good way being an owner of a Jeep ,Cadilac ,Infiniti, toyota and a ford...
Mazda definitely hit the nail on the head with the re designed CX-9 between this and the CX-5 and the re designed 6. It's a win win for mazda and their kodo design GO MAZDA! Oh and also awesome review guys keep them coming
I see your message is from 7 years ago. Do you still own the vehicle and if so what would you say about the vehicle now seeing that seven years has passed? Yes I know this is odd to be messaged over UA-cam but I'm looking to buy one and any insight is helpful. Thank you.
Guys I LOVED your review... its the best SUV out there (for me of course). Mazda has never been on top speaking on "tech", like the the nav and all of that... but turn on the engine and take it for a spin... and you'll never argue about the nav and small things that doesn't matter, how it drives, how it makes you feel? Those ARE important.
Maybe you should make a comparison test with the cx5 vs the cx7. I know cx7 is off the market in US, but in my opinion it will be interesting to see how they compare side-by-side... just suggesting.
Enjoyed this review and your channel. Funny and informative videos, which is tricky when talking about so bland a topic as SUVs. I'm in the market for this or the Nissan Pathfinder (you're probably the only guys who mention them in the same breath) or maybe . We have a Mazda 6 already so it's a tough choice whether or not to go to Nissan or stick with Mazda.
You know I've never really thought about it before, but a V-8 powered Durango doesn't really have any direct competitors (that I'm aware of). There's vehicles like the Explorer and the Traverse, but those don't offer V8's. Then there's SUVs like the Tahoe and Sequoia, but they have body-on-frame construction. And I agree that the Flex (it's styling especially) is definitely unique.
I saw all your videos and its really great you doing great job love the reviews about the cars . keep doing it everyday , i wish i had job like that haha :) its also compete with the Volvo xc60 i think
Once the mazda 3 hatchback acquires this new front fascia "and hopfully an upgraded skyactiv 2.5 engine" , it will undoubtedly be one of the best looking subcompact hatchbacks out there at least IMO.
I got to test drive one of these guys. That V6 engine really hauls ass...when I did a 0-60 test I totally let out a classic Nathan "CAHONES!!". That engine really takes off.
I cannot believe that Mazda missed the moonroof AGAIN on this model for the rear seats. This is such a nice car and its inteded to carry people and families. I guarantee with a moonroof this model would probably increase its sales by 30 to 50 percent.
Actualy the 3rd row in the Journey is optional, this would compete more with the larger small crossovers sizewise with the 12 rav4 with the optional 3rd row. Also take a look at interior volume, headroom and legroom CX-9 competes sizewise with larger vehicles like Durango that has 3 rows standard. :P
Yep, and my wife is eligible for a recent grad rebate too. Up here in Canada the owner loyalty program is -1% on the interest rate. There are some nice features to that Nissan that Mazda doesn't have, plus the sticker price (as comparably equipped as you can get) makes for a nearly $4k price difference in favour of the Nissan. I imagine we'll drive the CX-9 and fall in love as we did with the 6, so it may all be moot!
I think you guys would be very pleased to test drive the 2014 Mazda CX-5. 184 HP 2.5L engine replaces the 2.0L, giving it more zoom-zoom, along with some other nice refinements. Can you please test drive/0-60 the new 2014 CX-5? Thanks. :) This review of the CX-9 was very good. :)
ok but before windshields did not have fims inside to stop them from bursting. Im talking about if you hit a windshield really hard it will crack but no bust into pieces that wasn't always the case. I know they break into small Square pieces i said that your blowing smoke.
When the CX-9 does get a redesign, I hope it gets the full SKYACTIV treatment, including making a low-displacement SKYACTIV-G V6 and a SKYACTIV-D turbo engines. A SKYACTIV-G turbo engine with a 4-cyl engine wouldn't be good enough to haul 7 passengers, because there may be a lack of torque for the gas engine (Hint: Ford Explorer).

I think I would prefer a minivan over a 7-passenger SUV. I get the appeal--SUV's are "manlier" and supposedly better off-road and what not. But if you're buying a car for road-use and people-hauling, a minivan is the way to go.
Same 3.7l as in the 10-13 mustang v6 3.7l it's the same engine. With different intake manifold and heads as well as some other small parts the 09-12 Mazda 6 v6 3.7l as well
Yes and have you seen that people are less hurt because of that. You dont understand that it saving the occupants inside not the car.Same reason why they engine drops out when you get into a hard crash. So it wouldn't fly through the cabin.Same reason the hood is pre folded to bend in 2 or more specific places, why the windshield has film inside of them.why the windows break into squares ect to save people lives.
So they had a bad year alot of things happend in that time. But people still but them because they are so reliable. I can agree they have problems like the rust on the trucks especially the 4runner but they do make dependable cars. Recalls are not to be based on reliability. Also they're are alot of cars that have problems but they dont have recalls.
For a quiet and luxurious ride with exact same pricing, then the choice is the Hyundai Veracruz, unfortunately 2012 was the last model year. Beats the hell out of the CX-9
yes those were problems and the 92 did have a thing for building up carbon deposit fast. I dont know about the 3.0 problem but i know about the valve seat but that came usually around 150,000. And head gasket did give out but not when it was new. The 1998 were very reliable and so forth. But your saying it like ford,gm,chevy, mazda, nissan, honda dont do this. All car manufactures have common problems but ford has way more no on the trucks but on the cars.
regardless they changed the name. Many times when they discontinue a vehicle they still keep most of it but issue it in a different cars. Still they still discontinued it and had a reason for it.
Guy no. Most cars yes they dont have body on frame they have unibody but their are stronger than ever. The object is not to bend the frame its the body. Same reason they dont use it today it was a fail as well. If you run into a trunk of say a traverse hit it with your shoulder and the trunk body will bend inwards absorbing some of your energy and thus less of a impact. All of this you can probably Google but it what they use today and weather you believe it or not it is better.

Excellent review. It helps me a lot, because there are limited numbers of 2014 CX-9 here in Germany for a really low price! Thanks guys!
Mazda definitely hit the nail on the head with the re designed CX-9 between this and the CX-5 and the re designed 6. It's a win win for mazda and their kodo design GO MAZDA! Oh and also awesome review guys keep them coming
You got it! We'll have one done sometime during the week of Feb 11th. Thanks for watching!
awesome reviews guys! I checked out the CX-9 recently during an auto expo show in Utah....still couldn't get past the front end styling.
MAzda always has that sweet spot you have to find for best acceleration
does it have a remote start?
Now that is one good looking crossover!
I have a 2009 Mazda CX-9 GT AWD and it is great! I love it!
I see your message is from 7 years ago. Do you still own the vehicle and if so what would you say about the vehicle now seeing that seven years has passed? Yes I know this is odd to be messaged over UA-cam but I'm looking to buy one and any insight is helpful. Thank you.
HOLY CRAP that is a good exhaust note for a massive crossover.
Guys I LOVED your review... its the best SUV out there (for me of course). i guess it is kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
Their reviews are always lovely lmao
i really like the way you guys make the review .
Thanks for all the hard work
Awesome note. The exhaust growl sounds like my 07 Infiniti M35x. Way to go Mazda!!!

that awkward moment when he said no one liked the smile on the front of the old one... my mom has a 2011 and loves the smile...

CAN YOU DO A REVIEW/ maybe off road review, OF THE REFRESHED 2013 GMC ACADIA?
I saw all your videos and its really great you doing great job love the reviews about the cars . keep doing it everyday , i wish i had job like that haha :)
its also compete with the Volvo xc60 i think

watched this review on my phone with headphones; holy trippy audio!!!! siiick!!!
Wow.. I'm very impressed with this car
Cool review, subscribed
Love the Durango. I think the CX-9 is easier to drive day to day, but the Durango is more comfortable and, with the V8, it's a blast to drive.
Nathan rocking the Gamera shirt! Nice!!!
nice, mazda is really picking up their game. the new 6 looks good too
Use the six speed shifter for the 0-60 test
Are you guys thinking about making a TFL car app In the near future
I got to test drive one of these guys. That V6 engine really hauls ass...when I did a 0-60 test I totally let out a classic Nathan "CAHONES!!". That engine really takes off.

you guys doing awesome
I use the A/C when defrosting as it removes moisture from the air.
Yeah this one is very safe in the small overlap it folds up and uses the front seat as the crumple zone.
Mazda participates in a lot of professional races compared to other brands in the same price segment
Can u guys please make a review on the Toyota highlander, we're thinking of getting one.

Hey i was wondering why you guys have not done a review on the new mitsubishi outlander?
Great Video. You guys should review and compare the new Hyundai Santa Fe GLS, the Long Whee Base Version.
Please test the road grader next.
Can you do a review on the updated CX-5 with the 2.5L engine?
Nice review...
Guys, great review, and can you review the hyundai veracruz 2012 please.
Looks great

At 11:23 Roman you said the CX-5!! How does this AWD compare to the dodge journey AWD?
You guys should do a mash-up on the Volvo C30 and the Ford Focus.

also, how is this the "sportyest" car in it's class the ford explorer sport with the 3.5 turbo churning out 350+ horses and a sport suspension
It's funny what we expect nowadays with modern cars
I think I would prefer a minivan over a 7-passenger SUV. I get the appeal--SUV's are "manlier" and supposedly better off-road and what not. But if you're buying a car for road-use and people-hauling, a minivan is the way to go.
You guys talked about something I've always wondered. What kinds of vehicles do people who review cars professionally drive? So........?
Don't the Durango and Ford Flex compete with the CX-9 too?
you are right Nathan... what about the Dodge Durango
how is it compared to 2013 hyundai santa fe gls/limited (long wheel base sta. fe)?
I actually like this new style. The old one made it like a big station wagon.
Same 3.7l as in the 10-13 mustang v6 3.7l it's the same engine. With different intake manifold and heads as well as some other small parts the 09-12 Mazda 6 v6 3.7l as well

Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia which you mentioned
Why is this video only in 240p?!
Looks like there's snow on the ground, but Nathan says, "Wait, let me turn off the AC." Am I missing something???
This is what I wanted when we traded our 2009 Murano, but the wife didnt like it. She chose the Explorer XLT.
Love these
My mom has this car she loves it
err AC with snow outside?
Won't the new Hyundai Santa Fe (7 seater version) be the closest competition to this?
You guys should review a minivan!
best one in the market! :D every SUV n car have to be good handling!
yea a lot of car manufactures have gone up too like honda they started making their cars cool and interesting again.
So they had a bad year alot of things happend in that time. But people still but them because they are so reliable. I'm getting a semi just watching this video.
11:28 Mazda CX-5 !!!! did Mazda dropped the CX-7, whyyyyyy ???? CX-7 is so sexy to look at !!
Can you PLEEEEEEEEASE review the Honda Pilot?
wouldn't the ford flex with the 3.5 ecoboost be quicker?
nice exhaust note!!!!!
what about road noise?
For a quiet and luxurious ride with exact same pricing, then the choice is the Hyundai Veracruz, unfortunately 2012 was the last model year. Beats the hell out of the CX-9

This would make a good match or mash up with the Ford Flex (and\or) the Honda Pilot.
And how is your opinion formed?
Review the civic si 2013 please
I have the same exact car as this
@@Ultra2 i also have this car
Its excellent
40 grand i would honestly be looking at a gmc acadia or better yet the buick. i wish they cx9 had the turbo engine from the old cx 7
They're over a mile high which has a really bad effect on engine performance. In real life it's probably around 7, which isn't bad for an SUV.
The new old peoples car for those who got lost when Cadillac started to make interesting cars. Its luxurious, not that bad, boring.
review the 2014 mazda6 please !!
hey why don't you use the semi auto when you do the 0-60? You'll get a much faster time!!
You know what I want to see... Stingray Convertible vs. F-Type V8 S.
It looks like a big Mazda 6 lol, very nice.
regardless they changed the name. Many times when they discontinue a vehicle they still keep most of it but issue it in a different cars. Still they still discontinued it and had a reason for it.

The edge is in a different class, this is a size class above the edge
Just priced out a 2013 Acura MDX w/tech package...$43,000 in DC.
Dodge Durango too.
