remember if this same thing is happening to you but the bushing is there that means ur shift cable is going bad. it is seizing and creating enough force to pop the cable off. you can drive it for a while still more than likely but within a couple months it will fully break and seize
Did you make another video on how to fix the problem? I have a toyota Camry that when in reverse it acts like it's still in park and it won't even roll backwards. When in nuetral it also won't roll backwards and when you give it gas wants to go forward. I thought it might be the nuetral safety switch but now i think it might be the shift cable.
@@tangoray1095 lol i pulled the cable and held it in position, after that i drove straight to workshop. They just placed a steel clip to hold it in place. thats all
Good day. i have a 2003 toyota camry that previously had an acciident. since the the gear only changes from 1,2,3 cant change to 4 and 5. i have changed to another gear box. the same problems. i feel its electrical problem. please can you advice me on what to do. i cant enjoy the car. looking forward to your reply.

Gear is selected, but why car is not moving, is the strainer that needs to cleaned or what should I do?
Did you ever make a video on how to fix the problem? Mine is doing the same thing as David Allens camry.
You have to just stop the hook slipping. Mine was stopped by putting a copper wire through the hole. I even drove the car like that to the garage!

I just put a thick wire to keep it intact 😁
