if this is what fun is in class, good on the professor for having a great sense of human. Those students deserve an applause. Great precession and timing.
These are the kinds of pranks I like. Warm and heartfelt. And this professor is so contagiously joyous and such a gentle man. Very cute. Enjoyed watching this. 💕
I did this April fool prank with my science teacher with all my classmates in my class in year 11 and because it was my plan, I got suspended for 3 days.
Man, how long ago was this???? I know if my class did something like this back in the day even the meanest of teachers we had would have at least cracked a smile or something for having pranked them at all but the meanest of teacher would have smiled because they would have the last laugh because we would have had homework or tests or something as punishment but nothing that harsh.
I love when he says he thought he had the wrong time and place, if it wasn’t this class. That shows the special bond he has with those students and how he looks forward to that class. As a teacher, I know the feeling. I’ve had a few of those special classes over the past 10 years that I look forward to each day. I can just listen to this convo and tell this group of students were special!
I love how he was like “THIS IS THE GREATEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN 29 YEARS” (or something along those lines) and he was so just in touch with the prank like it was such an elaborate plan
See? Clearly you can PRANK someone without hurting anyones feelings. This was great! Precision is the word he used. I agree. The teacher was a good sport and was touched by it. His words were wonderful. God bless them all. Peace, Lynne 🍃💜🍃
@@gqwang6277 I'm not sure, but I THINK what he said at 3:33 was "...have any of you seen films by Ingmar Bergman?" I could not tell if he referenced a specific movie or just talked about Bergman's body of work.
Applause to you students and EXTRA applause for the teacher!! This was probably one of the most harmless and actually comedic prank I’ve seen. Literally it wasn’t offensive, harmful, or disrespectful in any way. It was literally like a magic trick and a hide and seek type thing 😂😂😂
God, I love this teacher! He's so sweet, and his laugh was adorable when he found out they were hiding in the closet. Great Prank, Guys! Such a wonderful man!
Treasure your HS years I am almost 56 and this brings tears to my eyes remembering what a fun carefree time it was for me in HS. You can tell Professor Brown is loved!
IN MY VIEW He was so genuinely moved by their prank that he told his students "I love you." Likewise, his students touched his heart with their love for him.
What a great teacher, not only for his reaction but the fact his students felt comfortable carrying out the prank, says a lot about his attitude and his professionalism, both teacher and students will remember this all of their lives, we need more people like him our education system, bravo sir!!!
With 988 comments already, this very sweet video doesn't really need more... But I can't resist. The first time I ever taught a class was as a graduate TA (teaching assistant). I was actually their only instructor, so I wasn't assisting a professor giving the lectures or anything like that. Since I was almost the same age as the students, I decided I should teach the class wearing a shirt and tie. I had one sports coat and one tie. I discovered that I really liked teaching. On the last day of class, I walked up to the lectern and discovered it was covered with loose change. I had to scoop up all the coins in order to use the lectern. "What is this?" I asked, somewhat puzzled and bemused. It was like a tip for a waiter. Their answer was that it was so I could buy a new tie. It wasn't a criticism of my attire. It was a very sweet thank you. I didn't actually buy a new tie. Instead, I never wore a tie to teach a class again. I didn't need some visual, symbolic separation between me and my students.
In 1995 we did this to our teacher, after 5m waiting for us, a girl giggled in the cupboard and he caught on and locked us in there 🤣. We spent the entire class negotiating our exit but he wouldn't speak to us so it was via notes under the door. One of the notes, as we'd understood by then he wasn't gonna give in, said: 20 Cheeseburgers, 10 Chicken burgers, 30 cokes...Please Hurry! 😁 One of the best memories of my life....one of the best teachers!!! Thanks for sharing This brought back beautiful memories No way to film back then 🙂
Now this is a prank. No stealing, breaking things, getting people angry, or ruining their day. Everyone laughs and has a great time over a harmless idea.
Well, he sure enjoyed THAT!!! Tons of fun for everybody - a harmless prank that was hilarious! Good planning, students! I wish I had fond memories of a prank we pulled on our teacher in Grade 7. Her classroom was the first room down one of the school hallways. It was built so that her door was installed right at the corner of the room, not on one of the flat walls that meet at the corner, but right on the corner itself, so the builders had to make like a little hut around the door. On the top it had a flat piece of wood for a roof. Before April Fools a few of us came back into the room one day after the teacher had left. We measured her desk and the doorway to make sure it was going to work. On April Fools morning a few of the boys came in early and lifted her desk up to the little "roof" over the doorway. It fit nicely up there. Then we just sat in our desks and waited for her to come into the room. She was a few minutes late so she was rushing when she came into the room, unbuttoning her coat, with her books in one arm. She rushed over to the desk to put her books and purse down so she could take off her coat. One of the students was asking her something so she really wasn't paying attention to where she was standing. She put her books and purse down on the desk, and of course there was no desk there so her stuff fell on the floor and made a big noise. She looked down at her things on the floor, then she looked around the classroom, looking at each one of us with a stunned look on her face. Her coat was still on one arm and hanging from her shoulder. We had all started snickering, waiting until she noticed her desk. She finally looked all around the room, looking up as well as at the floor. When she saw her desk perched 7 feet off the ground, we all broke out into hysterical laughter. She stood for a minute looking at the desk, then she started crying and ran out of the room!!!!!!!!!!!! We just sat in total silence wondering what we should do and the Principal came into the room a few minutes later. He saw the desk sitting up above the door and I thought we were all going to be suspended from school! He looked at us and said "could whoever put the desk up there please get it down?" Then he said "Your teacher was late this morning because she got a phone call just as she was leaving her house. It was a relative calling to tell her that her father had died during the night". We all felt like crap. Here we were laughing and thinking we had such a good prank on her, and all that time she was going over and over in her head what her relative had told her on the phone - that her father had died. We had a substitute teacher that week. When our teacher came back the next Monday we had an apology speech all written out and memorized and we apologized to her. She said she thought the prank was hilarious and would have really enjoyed the silliness of it if she had been in a better frame of mind. I still feel guilty about that day 60 years ago !!!
What a wonderful teacher. If all teachers could have his sebse if humor I think the drop out rate would be lower. Making class a fun place to be draws students in.

Brilliant😂! In the 70's the lads in my class carefully balanced a copy of 'The Complete Works of Shakespeare' between the top of the door and the door jam.
