This figure perfectly demonstrates how little Hasbro thought of their customers during the last few years of its RAH run.
#1. Scarlet was one of the most popular Joes but only got two versions around12 years apart.
#2. As mentioned in video, including the accessory tree for customer to punch out shows that they couldn't even bother to do the bare minimum.

Whats funny is you call this Thunder Thighs Scarlett, and this was a reuse of Chun Li from their street fighter line. Chun Li's been knicknamed Thunder Thighs, but because they're noticeably more muscular than the rest of her body and shes strong enough to kick someone through a wall. (Well the actual Chun Li character. not the old figure.)

The only valid part of the review is that the thigh sculpt looks wonky. The rest is just nit-picking to pad out disliking her thighs. She's superior and more fun than the original figure was, complete with a much better head.

Well said and done! This toy is a bad dream come true.
Were looking at the twilight of the vintage line with these figures. There were some bright spots but a lot of the figures and vehicles were sub par at this point.
+Thor13332 Yes, there were a few bring spots. But by this point the line had spun so far off the rails it was unrecognizable. They were trying to hitch their wagon to whatever was popular at the time. G.I. Joe should lead, not follow.

I always preferred the original Scarlett. she was a proper tooled up madam - as wellas crossbow she had gauntlet gun, shuriken, grenade, dagger and catapult. my fave version, hands down

Totally agree. I actually didn't mind this look in the comic, but the figure was a real let-down. Except it's a pretty good Sandra Bullock figure.
They changed to just a swivel head so you could swap the head into a version 1 or 1.5 Scarlett figure.
Kudos for this hilarious review of a hideous figure.
I always thought V1 Scarlett suffered a lot from being an 82 figure, the face sculpt was horrible, they didn't even make an attempt at getting the hair right so they just gave her a grandma haircut instead. But holy crap if anything their second attempt is so much worse. I feel bad not having a Scarlett in my collection, but they've just done such a terrible job with her that i can't bring myself to get one.
The grenade DOES serve a purpose - it lifts and separates, apparently.
Child bearing hips, hot pink file cards, and no military influence whatsoever. Dark times indeed. As a fan of your reviews, I freely admit to really enjoying these pain-riddled diatribes.

Apart from the articulation I love this Scarlett figure she's way better than the original and I like the green and gold paint scheme. I guess they ddnt make an effort to release her earlier cos she's a female character and Hasbro thought of her as a peg warmer maybe, look at the Baroness Zarana Lady Jaye and Cover Girl how many versions did they have hell they didn't even release Pythona...anyway great review

Sadly, Ninja Force Scarlett's real use was as custom fodder, as collector's attempted to adapt her head to different bodies (especially those who still had an intact version 1 Scarlett, which I didn't) in an attempt to salvage the figure. I tried a couple of times and got what I felt was a "good enough" result, at least until the repaint and New Sculpt era of the late 90s and early 2000s gave us better.
I had her. They made a Chun-lee street fighter figure using this same body mold
I remember that year how excited I was to find this and the Snake Eyes. The stupid mechanism in each figure really made it that hard to enjoy them.

Except for Scarlett I have the rest of these subline and I really hate the neon paints and accessories. It's like Hasbro telling the children, "BUY MEEE!!" As always great review.

Here is a friendly suggestion when you're doing faceplated Cobra Commander do the shot so you can't see the camera have a picture that looks like a whole bunch of Cobra Troopers in front of you so it reflects onto the faceplate I think it would look better maybe with a better background reflecting through the camera tell me what you think HCC 788

Man, HCC. You totally nailed it. I know we have a difference of opinion on a few figures, but Scarlet deserves better. the whole Ninja Force was a big disappointment. as much as they brought martial arts into the comic and it worked, the toy line just seemed to be on a serious decline in quality by the time NF became a reality. I was happy to see a new Scarlet, but it was a real pisser that she was such a mishmash of good & bad ideas. the real horror to me is that accessory tree. Her stance due to the ninja action gimmick was pretty crappy too, but I could have really enjoyed a normal figure in that same uniform. yeah, you need a break and trust me, we all understand. great job as always.
+sam torres Due to her action feature and limited articulation, you can't really get any good martial arts stances out of her. It's really too bad.

I owned Chun Li- well I actually got all of the Street Fighter figures back when they came out, and at the time they were my exposure to these gimmick-loaded figures. Most of the gimmicks were pretty bad and hindered the figures. And of course, only about 4 of the figures actually looked like the game characters, since most of them were reused Joe figure molds.
Vega actually did not come with his claws, which are the one thing Vega should have. Maybe then it was fortunate that Chun Li came with Scarlett's exact weapon tree, so I could swipe the claws from that at the time.
Could you do/have you done the PAC/RATs?
13:11 it ain’t a 6 shooter accordin the the sculpt and the card art it’s a old flintlock pistol somethin else which doesn’t make any sense in the 1990s gi joe cause flintlocks are unreliable now days
Dark times for GI Joe indeed. I think the GI Joe Club did a great job redeeming ninja force in modern sculpts, I kinda like to see them do this version of Scarlet eventually. Yea I remember those Shadow Ninjas they were terrible. The only one I had was Night Creeper because it made sense to use inviso technology.
Could we say that the developers of the ninja force group from 93, particularly the color changing variants, were themselves "counter intelligence" specialists? :-)

HoodedCobraCommander788 The Ninja Force and Star Brigade ended my GI Joe days in the 90's. I did like alot of the figures in the Battle Corps line, particularly Duke in desert camo. However, the weapons given to those figures were very generic.
Truthfually, I always thought the Ninja force was a mixed bad. Sure there were some awful designs, but there were also a couple fairly good ones (Storm Shadow, Nunchuk) and a couple more that were at least decent, especially by 90's standards (Snake Eyes, Zartan, Slice). Also, as lacking as the design of this figure was, Scarlett was a core character who woefully overdue for some sort of reissue.

Wow! I loved the soapbox rant at the end. This was a really great review in spite of a really horrible figure. I'm glad the ninja craze is over. I wonder if we would have Zombie Force if the vintage line would have been done today ha ha.

SCARLETT DESERVES BETTER!!! That's a feminist mantra I can get behind. I said in the original Scarlett review that I think she's CIA. I also think she met Snake-Eyes while he was doing some "cleaning" for the CIA.
That was a pretty bad figure alright, it will be interesting to see this helmeted cobra commander guest reviewer, looking forward to seeing that!!

Action gimmicks are the worst. I often tried to disable them.
the reason for the neck change is due to a design flaw in the body around the neck; it was found when kids played with version 1 often the neckline on the early version would break leaving a cracked v-line at the neck which not only made kids unhappy but also could lead to plastic splinters and lawsuits- so version 1 was actually pulled from shelves and version 2 was re-released.

wait. I forgot the real horror of the Ninja Force Hasbro cash hustle. ZARTAN. I could have seen Hasbro in a better light had I never ever seen a Mohawk'ed Zartan with fluorescent orange weapons. ugh.
TBH, I always thought the Ninja Force Zartan fit the character reasonably well. (certainly moreso than Scarlett)Yeah, he looked a bit "out there" with the usual 90's blazingly bright colors, but it still had a Dreadnok style look IMHO.
I like the Ninja Force Zartan as well. For starters, out of all the Ninja Force figures, I'm most forgiving of the ones that had the waist spring-loaded punching action, because at least it left the arms and legs with standard articulation. Zartan had that. I also liked the design, which I thought looked good next to the Dreadnoks. The mohawk is a matter of personal taste, but I thought that it suited him, especially alongside the Dreadnoks, and the bright orange/red hair was a good match for Zandar and Zarana. If the lime green pants had been done in brown and his face paint and weapon's tree had been black, I think that he would be a lot better accepted. His weapon tree even had Stom Shadow's compound bow, a weapon that was incredibly appropriote for him IMHO.

i had the ninja force snake eyes, because its snake eyes. this was the worst sub-line.followed by sonic blasters, def was next then battle corps. the only figure i liked from battle corps was col. courage. the accessories were not great, but the figure was pretty good.
I may have to say something about Ninja Force Snake Eyes in the near future.

Not a fan of The Ninja force.. w/ their special movements. . But I did have a Scarlett. .. And w/ black construction paper made a kind of bed roll w/ slats for her blades & Nunchuks fitting all except the Claws
