We always called this guy T.J. Bang. The running joke was "TJ Baned your mom". He had lots of battles against Slice and Dice on our backyards. He wasn't the best figure, but better than Dojo.
I use to go into the comic stores in the early 90s and any GI Joe comic that had a ninja on the cover I bought it. I had almost all the Ninja Force action figures
Aw man... I loved this guy. It was like having Iron Fist in the team. Though being a kid, I referred to him as "T-J Bang" and when T'Ginzu came out., it was like "Wait a minute." However, it always did confuse me how he had taken an oath of silence, yet had a quote. What, does he write it down or something? Also, isn't the padding on his chest a bulletproof vest or something of that nature? With jeans, no less. To be fair, him being from Rhode Island and being second cousins with Tommy is plausible, being that Storm Shadow himself is from St Louis. Though I'm guessing the relation may be through LaQuale's mom.
You need to do "ALL" the figures and vehicles from the 90s now because they are just so entertaining to watch. I too hated Ninja Force couldn't stand that action feature I'm glad Hasbro did them as modern Joe's. Love the back of the card Gen. Flagg, Firefly and Eel were my favorites of 1992. I remember that Eel came with a real sweet robotic shark...
The best part of your reviews are when you go over the file cards. You give a lot of great perspective and really shine some light on why these things were interesting, even when it's a character like this - one that I had, but could never figure out what to do with in the mess of all the other characters in action.
You literally had me laughing out loud at times. Awesome job! By and large things really started going off the rails by the 90's, although there are still a few good figures from those years. I collected all the way up to the bitter end of the vintage line.
I love it when you do these reviews like this I was laughing hysterically at the "pineapple" remark man ..I could tell your enthusiasm for these 90's joes reviews ..nice work man ..
Five years ago! Wow! When this figure was on the peg, I had no idea how to pronounce T'Jbang - so, the guy was "TJ Bang" - still is. And honestly, with this figure's outfit, TJ Bang the stunt-man or something would make more sense.
I never knew how to pronounce the name of this figure/character as a kid. (not that I missed not having this particular figure). That said, I just realized this would be a good ninja figure for Tiger Force, if you wanted one.
Come on, there are much much worse joes than him. :D But to be honest there are a few great ones in the 91-92 lines too. You should certainly do more reviews about bad figures, they're hilarious. :D I was already smiling when I clicked the video. :D
Hilarious review man :D I actually liked the ninja force subgroup when I was younger, had all of them, even the terrible Zartan and Scarlett figures. Tjbang was one of my least favorite. Even for an 'extreme' nineties kid, it was just too yellow and too goofy for me. Slice and dice, nunchuck and banzai were the best figures to come out of ninja force. You should at least look them up, if anything out of morbid curiosity lol.I really enjoyed the mix of comedy you put in this video. You still maintained an semblance of professionalism and impartiality (considering the circumstances) while pointing out the ridiculousness of the some of the designs, Well done....bravo man.
This was too good! You had me laughing throughout the video. The 90's where a strange time. But there are some really neat figures. The Crimson Guard Immortal is a really nice figure from 1991. He's worth checking out. Their hard to come by for a reasonable price these though. Even the Funskool ones are becoming pricey. But most of the sub lines of the 90's are pretty outlandish and dumb. I do know that Nunchuck is one of the better figures from the Ninja Force sub group. Also, you gotta love those cheesy 90's commercials, aha! Great review man!!
I came across this video more or less by accident.. and even though the figure sucks beyond belief... theis review is by far your best one :D :D :D I actually laughed out loud... to a GI review...
The one thing that makes me wonder was the photos of other Joes pictures ... But I think that colour selection was tragic also weapons are weird . I wonder what my Canadian historian will tell about this freak weapon ...
As a kid I really wanted to like Ninja Force. I had been around army drab my whole childhood (dad was a Canadian Army mechanic) so it wasn't unique or special to me, so the colorful sci-fi and fantasy Joes weren't repellant to me. They were different and visually interesting. Those ninja action features really really fucked with the figures though. You couldn't pose them well or do many movements other than the spring loaded ones.
This figure makes Serpentor look conservative. I would repaint all of his armor a gloss black and his mask flat black. Keep the regular sword , lose the other and find him some sais.
I always mispronounced it, then! (Tee-juh-bayng) lol He's Iron fist in Wolverines colors. I still liked this figure. He looked like Steven Segal, to me. But, now that's a bad thing.
I didn't like how they sculpted weapons poorly and color molded them terribly. Ninja force was just an offshoot line to me, like Street Fighter. Same with the other lines like DEF, ECO and Brigade. Battle Corps were treading the fine line of the end as is.
I think this figure is terrible, lol. GI. Joe figures started getting awful in the last few years before Hasbro stopped the origin run. The neon accessories and stupid gimmicks they used.
If you put his sword in his left hand it would be a back slash. I always thought he looked more like a wrestler then a ninja.
what a gem. you sir are saluted for your service
This channel needs more 90s Joe's

also while you are correct, he was marketed as Cha'Bang.

Man I love watching your videos this one is especially funny👍
This guy and Overkill were the last two Joes I picked up new at a store.
Yeah, I had already checked out of G.I. Joe by the time these figures started coming out; and rightfully so!
+GIJOE4157 Me, too.
My favorite ninja!
I love it when you do these reviews like this I was laughing hysterically at the "pineapple" remark man ..I could tell your enthusiasm for these 90's joes reviews ..nice work man ..
+M.G.Villan The good thing is, Spongebob can hollow him out and live in his corpse.
HoodedCobraCommander788 hahhahahahahhaaahahaaaaaaa

best thing about the figure: the stand
his card art screams "look at my gootch!" actually the hook swords are martial arts weapons, but his blue and yellow deco screams....OK guy you tried.
You should do more 1990's Joes
lol oh man, i cannot unsee pineapple now! I think i'll just pretend he's the Emperor of Tiger Force.
I never knew how to pronounce the name of this figure/character as a kid. (not that I missed not having this particular figure). That said, I just realized this would be a good ninja figure for Tiger Force, if you wanted one.

Funny, it was my favorite when i was 8 lol
I think I broke apart mine to get his head and repainted it to make an Iron Fist with standard Joe articulation.
You are now offically the Angry gijoe nerd! ;)
I dunno if this is a “controversial opinion “
But I think ninja force is
incredibly underrated.
A great funny review for a figure that I have no intention of ever getting lol.
+Chris Michalec What, the Real Ninja Action didn't sell you?
Nope still hate the whole ninja line
Hilarious review. Did T'JBang find his pineapple chest piece in the CobraLa district of Rhode Island?
+Alamo Patriot Yeah, it's part of Cobra-La's new fruit-based technology. You don't want to see what they do with bananas.
If you don't mind modifying the accessories the silly sword can have a meeting with a bandsaw to become a pair.
I had this toy as a kid. I thought he looked like Iron Fist from Marvel comics. I just called him T.J_BANG...lol
Very good review...
could you review Crazy Legs? he's from '87 or '88, and he's a paratrooper wearing just a bit too much red.
I'll be happy to review Crazy Legs, but I don't have the figure complete yet.
I look forward to your review when you do it!
He's a decent sculpt marred by a questionable paint job!
I had Crazylegs when I was a kid,you're right it was 1987.
Thanks for reminding me his FUCKING NAME which I had forgotten !!! LOL I can now sell him !!😆
Great review. I dont understand the hatred for the figure but then again I could just be biased....
+MrTJBANG Bias? Naaah!
Does anyone know how to install new bands on these ninja force figures???
At least you don't have to worry about a rubber band breaking after a few decades decay.

Great review man!!
+Silent Wobby Thank you! There were some 90s figures that were not terrible, and they will have their day. But today belongs to Pineapple Man!
HoodedCobraCommander788 The almighty Pineapple man will rule the universe someday...
That was a good time had by all but you HCC788 LOL, thanks for the laughs:D
+TheSkullReviews Any time. ;-)
1:00 CLASSIC
great review as always Commander.
speaking of marital arts, will you ever look at the Street Fighter GI Joes?
+nodto modley Thank you! I haven't decided if I will consider Street Fighter part of the vintage line, so I don't know if I will get to them.
He looks like an escaped Lucha libre
for 1992 ninja force figures, the only one I need is storm shadow
This characters name is TJ Bang.
Ricky Martins favourite character.
I came across this video more or less by accident.. and even though the figure sucks beyond belief... theis review is by far your best one :D :D :D
I actually laughed out loud... to a GI review...
lol I made a TJBANG using an Ironfist head
he can hide out in front of best buy too
The one thing that makes me wonder was the photos of other Joes pictures ... But I think that colour selection was tragic also weapons are weird . I wonder what my Canadian historian will tell about this freak weapon ...

Now i know where cm punk got the design of his boots
This figure makes Serpentor look conservative. I would repaint all of his armor a gloss black and his mask flat black. Keep the regular sword , lose the other and find him some sais.
+Thor13332 The 1987 Ice Viper has a couple sais that do not make sense with that figure. T'Jbang could use those.
HoodedCobraCommander788
That's a good idea.
NACHO LIBRE!!!!!
I always mispronounced it, then! (Tee-juh-bayng) lol
He's Iron fist in Wolverines colors.
I still liked this figure.
He looked like Steven Segal, to me. But, now that's a bad thing.
"He does not masturbate, and has never known the touch of a woman, in order to preserve his chi"
He look like Mexican wrestler! Hahaha
Hilarious! ,
Lucha libre
hahaha
I laughed out loud several times. You might find more requests to review the worst figures possible just for the acerbic reviews.
+MagicRoosterBlues Oh, dear...
I didn't like how they sculpted weapons poorly and color molded them terribly. Ninja force was just an offshoot line to me, like Street Fighter. Same with the other lines like DEF, ECO and Brigade. Battle Corps were treading the fine line of the end as is.
Thanks for the laughs! A good review, but a crappy figure.
Were you really dropping F-bombs? Ha. Maybe Storm Shadow is really a southie from Boston.
what a horrible figure. were they trying to rip off iron fist? should have been the Joe bee-keeper guy.
Horrendous figure of course. Anything after 1990 is awful. But that begs the question, why do you have such a garbage figure? You clearly hate it.
GAY
I think this figure is terrible, lol. GI. Joe figures started getting awful in the last few years before Hasbro stopped the origin run. The neon accessories and stupid gimmicks they used.
