Lol. I love that oc girl continues to be an elusive, mystical, creature that only sometimes exists. Awesome video! Loved hearing about you and your family.
Thanks Oh Mai!
Such great clip, super interesting
Love the vlogs dude!!! don't stop man. Best travel channel!!!!
Thanks Dilip!
Fact 51: You have provided great value to people around the world. I now own Smartwool socks and Pacsafe backpacks. We need a small group meetup in San Diego!
Awww. Thanks Iam Irish!
Partially ballsy, fully shrewd.
Others trying this might have it backfire because of perceived narcissism et al, but your matter-of-fact delivery with no attempt to embellish or twist anything rings true and scores. You also are *(consistently)* frank and don't hesitate to call things as you see it. So that and the homey personal sharing I think this will have feelgood resonance :) Bold to do this.
But stepping back, I do believe that people simply really do want to know these things. After all your hard work - importantly including impeccable accuracy and personally responding to viewers - you've earned a spot in some of their living rooms :)
And you still do all this with the new addition!
I can imagine The Traveling Princess also love pancakes in the morning, right! I think pancakes is almost everyone’s favorite kids as grownups. 🙂I love that. And maple syrup. And some berries on. Really cool video and I always enjoy getting to know more about yellow productions and also about you. Looking forward to many more videos from you. 😃 I will change to apple juice instead of orange juice. Thank you for that information that apple juice neutralize acid. Didn’t know that. But I got some problem in the morning with orange juice. I love it but not my stomach so much. It’s better in the afternoon but not to start the morning with. Anyway as always you deliver again a really good video and interesting information. 👍
Thanks Tatjana. The traveling princess used to enjoy my pancakes. Now she's really in to yogurt. Particularly mango yogurt
Great video on 50 Fun Facts about Chris & Yellow Productions. I have seen OC Girl in a few videos, my favourite is her popping in and out of the video on your last trip to Japan. So sorry to hear about your Dad ( Electric Rick ) accident . Sending him some good vibes for a speedy recovery . Thanks Chris.
Thanks Colleen!
Modesto is my hometown! Glad you were able to experience the almond blossoms. In Modesto, they’re pronounced “a-mons.”
Very cool! And yes. I did hear someone call them Amons!
I am in San Diego right now on a business trip. You and I have a lot in common, including big feet (I wear a 15-16) and ingrown toenails. I usually buy my shoes at Nordstrom. They started as a shoe store and usually carry bigger sizes. There is also a place called Oddball Shoes (based in Portland, Oregon) that sells big sizes-they have a website
Thanks for the shoe tips Drew!
You look awesome with the beard. More of a grown up look, you have such a baby face.
No Leftovers??!!! What is this world coming to lol
Awesome videos man. One day ill be here again for live. I am glad to see this
Hah! Next week I think the live will be a little later in the day... so might be better for you :)
Staying at Sandals in St Lucia soon, thanks for the travel tips videos!

You didn’t divulge the BIGGEST SECRET: The fact that you now have a potential competitor in the making, and a cute little rascal for a Boss, called The Traveling Princes. 😀
Awww
That CHSPE way of shortening high school sounds like a good idea.
People meeting me nowadays would probably have a hard time believing it, but I was considered a "gifted" child and teachers recommended I skip ahead a grade or two when I was in grade 1 of elementary school, or be sent to some specialized boarding school for cases like that.
The latter my parents couldn't afford (There were no scholarships or grants back then, where I was born and raised.) and the former I stupidly refused because I was afraid of the older kids.
Then, what we had been warned of, happened. I lost interest in school and my performance worsened. I used what brains I had to always get away with doing the bare minimum and never studied but kind of bullshitted my way through the examinations and tests, using logical deduction on the spot, instead of learning and knowing anything.
(For example, one of my math teachers in 4th grade once called my mother because she claimed I had used a way to calculate something she wasn't familiar with and she wanted to know where I had learned that.
I don't remember what exactly that was, but I do know that I did not learn it from anywhere, but just figured it made sense during the test and it produced the right result.)
I was still bored out of my mind, especially as a teen in high school and I had bad relationships with the teachers, because I was an arrogant little prick. 3 of my teachers were caught grading me worse than other kids who had done worse in tests, over the years, hehe. Nowadays I get why they didn't like me.
When I went to university that wasn't enough anymore and I had a hard time, because I never had developed discipline and never had "learned to learn", if you know what I mean.
That I was a loner and didn't make any friends and just didn't know about much stuff going on on campus and couldn't ask anyone for notes when I missed a lecture, didn't help either.
Nowadays I wish my parents would have forced me to skip ahead in elementary school.
Something like that CHSPE program and the ability to just skip school altogether, might have been a great motivation and very helpful.
Today I am a fuckup without a real career. People speculate that I must be a junkie or a extreme stoner or something, but I never used any drugs and never even tried marijuana, hehehe. I don't even smoke or drink.
I only recently learned that such an outcome apparently is quite common with former "gifted kids".
I pity the others who are in the same situation, but I have to admit, it is a bit of a relieve.
I'm wary of the danger of slipping into a victimhood mentality and blame others or "the system" for my failures.
Nowadays I don't trust IQ test results much anymore.
If I really would have been smart, I ought to have figured out a way to navigate the system better and compensate for my lack of discipline.
Turns out, being quick at figuring out how some weird geometric shape would look like if you rotate it by 90 degrees in 3 axis, doesn't predict success in life. Who would have thought, right? lol
Hey TrangleC. Yeah. I really hated high school. And I certainly could have seen myself taking a similar path to yours if I was forced to stay in. I think what happened to you also happened to some of my friends back in the day. Using their brains to figure out ways to torture the teachers rather than learn stuff :).
I've always pegged you as intelligent because you do write such thoughtful and insightful comments!
@@YellowProductions Thanks, nice of you to say, but I think it is true when people say "Use it or lose it." and I lost it.
Also thanks for even bothering reading long diatribes like that in your comments, **chuckle**. I totally get if you don't bother reading this one here. It got way longer than I intended it to be, but this is a bit of a pet topic of mine, for obvious reasons.
I think that it would have taken a lot more than just being bored in school to prevent you from being successful. I of course only know the little snippets and hints you drop about your job and your career in videos like this one, or the ones on your other channel, but the way you developed your UA-cam channels and kept growing the main one, even through the Covid crisis, shows that you have drive and tenacity on top of a high level of intelligence.
I admire that a lot.
What little hints at your childhood you dropped, like when you talked about your father's camera hobby, make it sound as if you came from a also intelligent and stimulating background, which is great.
(By the way, hope your dad is getting well soon.)
I'm more of a "Lisa Simpson" case, where nobody could really explain where I got my "gift" from, lol, and while my mother did teach me basic math and reading at an early age, that was about it on that front. As long back as my memory reaches, all I remember is both my parents basically just watching TV in their free time, not really having hobbies and still somehow managing to blow what money they had on dumb shit, instead of investing it or doing anything smart or even sensible with it.
In my defense though, being undisciplined and raised by wolves wasn't all that did me in. When I was a university student, my mother was diagnosed with bone cancer and my father had the first of several strokes soon after, so they both suddenly couldn't work anymore, sitting on a huge mortgage and my mother had a lot of extra expenses for alternative cancer treatments her insurance refused to pay for. So I had to work the night shift and on the weekends, to help them out and eventually I wasn't able to keep up anymore and flunked out of university, after my mother finally had died.
Should have done that sooner, but I clung to the hope that things would get better again, which ripped a big hole into my CV, which is a huge problem in Germany, where the employers usually don't have much patience for any "alternative life path" stuff, if you know what I mean.
It isn't all doom and gloom for me anymore either though. I just got offered a way better job, where I will earn a lot more money and get additional benefits (like they are paying me extra for every kilometre I have to drive to work) and on top of that the German government in cooperation with the health insurance companies, started a new program aimed at lessening the load on retirement and nursing homes by paying people who take care of their elderly, handicapped and demented family members at home. So my father's health insurance will sort of be paying me for keeping my father out of the homes, which he refused to go to anyways. Further on top of that, my father finally stopped smoking in his old age, which means he'll save a lot of money and I won't be forced to pay all of his regular bills anymore.
And my new employer is one of those rare "I want to enjoy my life and get out of the office, so my employees are allowed to do too."-kind of guys and for the first time in my life, I'll actually get a taste of those exorbitant amounts of paid vacation time, Americans look on in disgust when looking at Europe, or Germany in particular, lol.
6 weeks of vacation time. I still can hardly believe it. That is generous, even by German standards. I'm used to "officially 4 weeks", which nobody ever could afford to take because it would have been looked at as lazy and "not being a team player" to take all of those.
Long story short, things are looking up, especially financially and it currently looks as if I could soon be able to finally afford my long dreamed of trip to the USA.
Unless flying gets and stays so expensive that we go back to only the rich being able to afford it again.
If things calm down on that end again, I might be able to go from being a "having had my last real vacation at age 11"-guy to having 3 proper vacations a year. lol
Knowing that there are people who are going to Disney World several times a year, or take a bunch of cruises each year, always seemed so weird and alien to me. The prospect that now, all of a sudden I might end up being someone like that too, is really weird.
It feels surreal and I hope I'm not jinxing it.
@@TrangleC Lisa Simpson is a great analogy.. you don't think Homer was all that mentally stimulating for her? :)
Great that you got a new job that pays more.. AND has 6 weeks of paid vacation. That's nice!
@@YellowProductions Hehe, yes. I haven't watched the show in a long time, but I remember one episode from the early seasons that always resonated with me. In that episode Lisa gets a substitute teacher who is the first one to ever really appreciate her intellect and encourages her to read great books and "do smart people stuff".
Somewhere in that episode, that substitute teacher calls Lisa "a beautiful flower growing out of a heap of dung" and that always stuck with me, hehehe.
No, I didn't consider myself a beautiful flower, not even back then, when everyone erroneously still acted as if I were a genius, but I could relate to the fundamental sentiment.
Like Lisa in that episode, I also always felt drawn to the few smart people I met in life, but I always had trouble communicating with them, because I still was a unrefined, uncultured yokel and a loner, lacking in vocabulary and eloquence.
Thanks for what you said about me getting a new job. I'm really glad about that turn of events and the prospect of being able to travel myself in the not too far future, already had an effect on me.
Your newest video about the best food in the Californian Central Valley is the first such video that didn't also (besides being entertaining and interesting) make me a bit sad and melancholic, lol. Now I actually have hope of visiting those places myself, one day and before I do, I will make sure to watch all your related videos again and compile a list of places to visit.
Just checked out OC Girl’s Instagram account and absolutely love her pictures! She is such a fashionista 😊 I want her to dress me now 🤣The pics with her and the Traveling Princess are also just too adorable! I see where the Traveling Princess gets her good looks 😉
Hah! Yes. Oc girl is the one who decides what everyone wears. Except me since I'm just in a Yellow shirt all the time :)
Wow! You've got pretty big feet! I'm 6 foot 5 and I only wear size 13! I have enough trouble finding my size, but size 14 is something I almost never see! Interesting video, I wish more UA-camrs would introduce themselves like this!
Thanks Gord! Yeah. It's hard to find size 14 shoes for sure
Some use a short "e" in Szechuan - but I'm not one to say since I'm not one that's actually been there :)
Hahah was waiting for this video!
Fermented for 3 years? That's packed full of good probiotics.
And man was it sour!
Warriors and Rams have a lot of yellow and blue
Thank you.
I’ve seen the lines for Orobea. There is always a long line.
I try to get there right about noon when they open. Lines aren't usually too awful then
I’ve had a beard for 42 years, hate shaving.
I never finished a speech class in college always dropped out of it
I would love to go to Japan 🇯🇵🌸
Awesome stream Chris.
Thanks Adam!
I hope your dad gets well soon!!!
Thanks Rachel!
I really recommend Brazil. The most Beautiful people on the planet. Extremely friendly. Rio was my absolute favorite.Their national dish called Feijoida is a huge stew of meats, sausage, black beans beef and pork along with some orange slices. Made 1 day a week. Also churascurea which is a huge BBQ of every meat. Both are extremely inexpensive. I found everything there inexpensive.
Thanks for the tip on Brazil! I had a trip to Rio de Janeiro planned but unfortunately it didn't work out
What’s the curious princess real name and of girl?
Hey Chris, what’s your star sign? 🤔
Sagittarius
💖💖💖
You can fly to most South American countries from Tijuana International Airport.
I should probably look into that more. Our home airport is SNA or LAX typically
@@YellowProductions mine too. I’m in Aliso Viejo.
I cant believe you've visited all thos countries and not visited africa
HOW MANY MILES DO YOU WALK IN ONE MONTH?
Probably about 5 miles an average day. But when I'm traveling it could be easily 15 miles a day
in my opinion, healthy than sports like triathlon.
I'm going to make an educated guess that OC GIRL is Chinese....2nd guess = Japanese.
You eat at inn n out a lot
I sure do!
I love you but your pronunciation of Chinese kills me!
I think you have been to 28 countries, because Taiwan is not a separate country but is part of China
Not according to Taiwan.. They have their own passports in Taiwan. But you're certainly entitled to your opinion on that.
