Yeah I bought a scooter after seeing how cool some guy on YT looked while he was making camera conspiracy videos. Loved riding it, but realized it was way less safe than a bicycle. It's hard to keep balance when you're breaking or turning. Can't imagine an electric skateboard.

It's a nice cruiser deck, and the tail is a nice feature. The configuration with the 2 kingpins on the trucks is nice too.

the trick with DKP trucks - the faster you go the lower you need your center of grafivty - you see the downhill skate rud & the generally lower their cg quite a bit.
Also you want to ensure your weight is at minumum centered over both trucks equally - but as it becomes unstable at speeds - you actually want your weight as far forard as you can get comfortably as the weight over the forward trucks will stabilize the wobbles. Again thiough - and i truly CANNOT emphasize this enough - bnd your rear knee WAY FORWARD AND WAY DOWN - with your lead leg bent at rougly half os much as the rear leg - this will allow you to move your weight onto the front trucks enought to travel at speed without the wobbles AND - it allows you to fully accelleeraate without the board bucking you off & blazing out of town without you...
But also - generally very very much - lean forward as heelll when accellerating & at high speed NOT standing up like a turkey first in line to be thanksgivib=ng dinner - and lean your weight way beck in direct proportion to haw oard you hit the brakes/want to stop.

This would be nice shooting around Downtown, parking is always a chore and I often see the most increadible moments I miss without my camera in hand to capture them.
The ipx rating would be on the electronics. If its a wooden board, thats why you shouldnt get it wet, as itll lose its responsiveness/springyness and/or start to delaminate the glue

I own and ride a OneWheel and an EUC (electric unicycle) a few days a week for fun. Both have a bit of a learning curve especially the EUC. Never tried a scooter or electric skateboard but I have been eying up one of those electric skateboards that have air filled rubber tires. Have you ever rode one of those?
If I got on that thing, I can imagine a broken hip for myself or an innocent bystander, and a mangled Sony A7IV
Nice board. Idea, install a strap from under the board, two hooks or whatever, front to back, and install clip on strap to carry it. Strap should be long enough so board lays on you side. Just saying

almost $1,000 and less utility than a one wheel or EUC no thanks. You know what I really want is a brompton folding bicycle. That's ultimate utility take it on the train or bus and then unfold.
I suggested a Brompton to Kasey a few years ago but he wasn't keen, maybe now he'll be more open to the idea 🤔
all my friends use e skateboards, eucs and onewheels. They are just not bicycle people unless it's an e-bicycle. I think casey is one of those e-scooter guys@@nyemartin5737
Casey thinks he needs his hands free for vlogging so in theory skateboards are most appealing. But then you need a hand for remote and with bicycle you would get mounting points on handlebars… I think I would do that instead.
True BUT, the form factor of The Meepo Flow is waaay cooler looking than anything you listed. Everything you mentioned looks hella dweebish.

I have this one now and I can say now, that the REVEL kit has more "free roll" capability , and smoother acceleration....not nearly as "touchy" as the Meepo controller. Yes, I adapted to the Meepo controller..
And the free roll? Oh yes, much greater on Revel. I can "surfskate" or push a drained Revel board...but not the Meepo.
And the wheelbase of the Meepo is absurdly wide. You better take the time to learn how big of a circle you have to make on it to turn around,

only problem to most of us the meepo flow is not a budget board its high end board. took me a few paychecks to afford it. a budget electric skateboard for most Americans is 300 to 400$.
IP x5 means it's rated for a stream of water but not for submersion.
All bike paths in this part of the country look the same. :-)

I bought a backfire g2.. my friend bought a meepo cause it boasts a 30 mph max speed.. his dies after about 8 miles and battery doesnt hold a charge that great anymore.. my backfire still takes me 13.5 miles at 24 mph.. got 1100 miles on that bad boy. And it was about $100 dollars cheaper!

The Flow is an insane board for the price. But if you continue to ride without gear such as a helmet, you won't be enjoying anything anymore. Dude, you're wearing fkn flip flops. I think you may have already hit your head before. Wow! Just wow! It's not hard to throw on a helmet and a pair of shoes to protect the head and feet. Trust when people say that you won't be happy if you do a header off your board. It's a miserable experience. It's not a matter of if you'll fall off it's a matter of when.

Bicycles, scooters, EUC's in that order from safety to convenience, everything else is impractical gimmickry.
Skateboards are too limited in terrain you can mob over without hyper focus on the surface you're going over, onewheels are just dumb euc's with a nose and tail that makes them death traps compared to EUC's
Always wear a helmet, it only takes one instant to get caught slipping and vegetable yourself, sooooooo not worth it, put on a helmet, ride harder because of it if you want.
Make it usbc charging meepo. Ship it with a 140 wat brick and a thunderbolt 4 cable. Boom baby.

I’m 43. Never ridden a board. I ride e scooters. I had it in my cart and almost got it. 700$ is a lot of $ if I won’t like it. It’s a hard choice. If I get a cheap mini than I probably won’t like it. What to do? Wish I knew someone who had a board

A 700 dollar board isn't a budget board in 2023/2024.
Meepos are crap, and break, and are unsafe, and have touchy customer service. Things break on them that shouldn't like trucks bending.
There's way better packages for the money.
The BEST budget board for the money hands down not arguable is the wowgo 3e. 450 bucks and you get a high torque 28mph board belt drive.
It has 220 5 star reviews , 25 4 stars, 0 3 stars, 0 2 stars, 0 1 stars on the website. They are the definition of reliable and are priced reasonably.
The meepo flow is a mid range board and and not the best mid range board.
Not saying you shouldn't buy one if you like the flow buy it but there are more powerful boards and more reliable ones that are cheaper
In 2024 Budget E board means under 500 dollars.
