Phenomenal job Serge! Wrt the static grass. If it gets too expensive, cut up core rope, untwist it and give the fibres a bath in acrylics. You can make nice grass tufts using different lengths. Thanks for the update!
Hi Serge, thanks for the update. Love the detail you've put into the Irving fuel depot and parcel delivery buildings, and the scenery piece is simply stunning. If that's the bar you have set for the first time in 20 years of doing any scenery then we're in for a real treat once you get into the groove... Look forward to another op shoot if you get the chance. Stay well and enjoy your spring, we're starting to hunker down for winter as we head through the Autumn here in NZ.
Hello, Just checking in. Winter is coming. That means Train modeling. Yeah! Also checking in on HO and N scale Signals. Hope all is well. Happy holidays. Nov 27th 2023.
Cool Vignettes Serge, love the details on and inside the different buildings. Very cool piping. Beautiful trees and scenic blend. On tufts, it’s mainly about figuring out what works for you. Have used different kinds of rope, static grass, and cut offs from grass plumes. Mainly found that PVA has a too long ‘open time.’ Didn’t use Mod Podge yet. Matte Medium works better for me and small dots of hot glue. The first base I stick fibres into the hot glue, next I’ll add Matte Medium and either smaller or longer fibres. Cool idea to use twigs of blueberry brush taped together. Beautiful derailers and lubricator. Cheerio
Your boomer trees are looking really good! I'll have to go back and look at the tree videos again. You can make your own grass tuffs, wax paper and dots of glue/medium/modge. Boomer has a technique of making sheets of grass with soil, on wax paper, that he then tears appart and puts in as tuffs (soil and all). Uses Matte Medium. I've had some success with those. Not sure what video it is, it might be in a detailing of track video (early on in his River Road videos is where I saw it). Looking good, I look forward to seeing your progress....whenever you get around to posting again.
Your scenery work is amazingly well done. It's so realistic. Some of the best I've seen. Wonderful work. Your work is right up there with Boomers! The trees are really nice. Great idea to use moss ground up for ground cover. Awesome layout. 👍
Terrific. The trees in the background at the start of this episode, run with the very best in the modelling world. Awesome, friend. What a beauty this layout is turning out even in the incomplete stage. Thank you for sharing. I subbed!

Absolutely stellar modeling. Great to see this level of realism in O Scale!
Astonishingly realistic detail Serge.😲 I'm inspired by it all - enough to go from N to HO to O.2rail, but no more!🙃 🚂Lawrence
Your layout is looking awesome! Thank you for sharing it with the community. Cheers ~ Boomer. 👍😁
Can't wait to see the rest of your layout, Serge. Stunning detail and beautiful scenery.
