Great review. Awesome sticks and stand combo for someone starting from scratch as well as an experienced hunter. Your Samko style system of running the 3 full length sticks with foldable steps on swim noodles has been the best for me over the last several years. Hopefully with the exposure youre giving that setup, people will see the advantages of full length sticks and they will gain popularity again.
Thank you for taking the time to review this stand and sticks. I’ll definitely be interested in hearing your feedback after you put it through its paces. Great job again sir!
@ wow! Good luck out there I’ll keep an eye out if you have a follow up video. Just sent my buddy this video who’s about to dump a grand on a LWCG setup now he’s holding off until you give the final verdict.
@andrewwaldron6012 the 1.0 is a great stand. Have a 1 year review of it already made and publishes soon. Bit it's got many quirks that bother me. The rubicon so far flawless and I like many thing about it more. The seat, the smooth edges, the way it slides to bite the tree etc.
Thanks for the review Jason. Looks like it’s unbeatable at that price point. Could I safely run the XOP straps on my lone wolf assault stand and steps?
If budget is your limiting factor then you cannot beat XOP. If you have the extra coin & value American made products LWCG is the way to go. I was always told, buy once cry once!
I have a lwcg 1.0, 3 assaults, the rubicon, and just sold my beast stand last year. So obviously I can buy what ever stand i want and have used high end. I will be keeping this rubicon and selling my lwcg 1.0. The rubicon is better in my opinion.
Awesome review, looking forward to hearing any follow up after your trip! Check out their holiday harness too if you need a budget option and hate whole body harnesses like I do. Thanks for the content!
Really appreciate your xop reviews. I run the cold world with x2s and lmo4s depending on the particular hunt. I had a l3 / l4 spinal fusion 2 years ago and am 49 yrs old. 3 lbs more on the lmo4s doesnt bother me and if I had to guess really only bother a select few. Thanks again
Xop has good stands I've been running the vanish evolution with the 3 step hawk helium sticks I think I might make the switch to the xop sticks don't care for the hawk sticks
I have a set of those sticks in the original mini version. I wear tenneshoes hunting 97% of the time, and I’m short and have a 8.5 shoe. I can get 2 feet on the XOP step if I have to for some reason on a difficult tree or something.
Great video and review! I just can't understand why X0P and all the other companies are not making the platform V the same size as the Assault 2 that is why I didn't like the Helo and 1.0 That's why I have 3 Assaults2 and sold the rest. How is the seat if you stand and lean on it?? Thanks hope you have a great trip!
Can't stand and lean on the seat like you can on an assault. But the seat is completely out of the way so you can actually lean with your butt on the tree. I'm very impressed with the rubicon. When I get home probably selling my 1.0. Will never sell my assaults
@robbo392 zero complaints. Been using this stand 2 or 3 sets a day for last 3 weeks. Big trees and small. On the super small trees the bracket does rest on the strap. But the bracket is smooth and no sharp edges. Works perfect
Do you think there would be any issues strapping the xop stands and sticks to a kuiu venture pack like you have done in the past with your other stands? I'm just curious, I have a venture and want to go back to long sticks.
No issues at all. I'm carrying the rubicon with my original lw (same as novix) sticks on my venture 2300 right now. Love the rubicon. The xop sticks are absolutely amazing and so solid. But they are heavy so in staying with my sticks. But the xop or the novix sticks mount exactly the same on the stand and on the pack.
I am liking the price per feature with XOP. I am thinking hard about pulling the trigger or dropping the string on their little fold flat climber. I think it is called the Reaper. Where I live in Texas I am on the edge of the Pine Belt. Call it Western East Texas or Eastern Central Texas. So the Yellow Pine is just made for a climber. My Summit is great but, she is big and bulky. I believe the Reaper is 20 lbs all in and comes with a good lightweight harness. I think if you remove the sit and climb bar it is 18 lbs.

@markfaria1684 i sure hope so too. There is great advantages to these sticks

Been in the rubicon 3 days now 6 set ups. All I'm gonna say is I bet i will be selling my lwcg 1.0 when I get home

@andrewdoyle5850 yes
Another good one Jason
Of all of XOPs gear ...I dislike that Harness...
👍🏻.

Xop sticks are perfect for setting up and forget it for the season
This is a great video, thanks. Does the Rubicon come with straps to carry it on your back? Or would I need to get those?
It co.es with very nice back pack straps.
That Meat Shelf would be a good feature to carry in a 30 Pack of LoneStar Beer😂
😂 a man has to have priorities
@SamkoTradBow Well....notice I didn't say Bud Light😃
@UncleDanBand64 😂

@@robertwilliamson6958 they sure are big and sturdy steps
You sound like the Sham Wow guy.
LMFAO 😂

Great job. Thank you
How does it do with smaller trees with the strap being so close to the offset bracket

I think you was at same camp with my buddy Jeff? Last week I think
@robbo392 I believe so

@SamkoTradBow thanks a lot Jason! Just ordered a set. Appreciate all the content, good luck on your Midwest hunts!
@bluecollarbucks9566 thanks
XOP Vanish Evolution, good stand even cheaper.
But without the amazing rubicon seat
Another thing about XOP is they have a 350lb weight rating capacity
Agreed 👍
Personally I would change out the sticks to the x2’s
I run x2s and lmo4s on my cold world and the x2s are more bulky when carrying full gear on long hikes. Less than 3lb difference.

Perfect
Looks like XOP has 15% off military discount and free shipping over $50.00
