AN INTERABLED couple who found love online, have hit back at internet trolls who believe their relationship is fake and unnatural. Maria first came across Catalin's social media profile in 2019 and was immediately struck by Catalin's artistry and how open he was about his condition. Catalin has a condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which is a degenerative condition which means he needs round the clock care. It was Maria who took the first step by sending him a friend request and leaving heart emoji's to all of his online pictures. After some initial messages, their relationship moved incredibly quickly. Maria told Truly: "Things went from liking to love in less than three weeks for me. We moved in together and now we're living together". Maria and Catalin decided to start a social media account to show the world their new relationship but not everyone online liked what they saw. Maris explained: "We started to get really rude comments like, 'I don't get the point of him being alive', our relationship is not natural and we are attention seekers". Despite these horrible comments, Maria and Catalin are incredibly happy together and have big plans for their future...with wedding bells possibly on the way!

People always seem to think that able-bodied people are with disabled people for their "money" but when will society learn that the "money" that disabled people receive from the government is literally barely enough to survive. Disabled people are often unemployed due to medical reasons OR more commonly, discrimination.
Maria here. That's sad, but you're right.
In Romania, Catalin receives only 250 EUR per month. (disability benefits)
To make a comparison - a studio to rent in the nearest city to us, Baia Mare, is around 200 EUR per month (without water, electricity or gas bills). Basic food is around another 150-200 EUR per month. (I'm sorry if I am being to explicit, but we have nothing to hide 😃)
To be honest, it is impossible to make a living from this money.
Catalin works in music and I work in IT. If one of us did not work, we would not be able to afford a living.

I dated someone that was paraplegic due to a motorcycle accident he had when he was younger. He’s the most down to earth and selfless person I know. People fail to realize that disabled individuals are full of life just as the next person. When I came into the picture he didn’t need my assistance with anything, this includes driving a car. Even though our relationship failed as lovers, we’re still good friends till this day.

We decided to go our separate ways due to him not wanting to eventually start a family. Seeing that you know nothing about me, I suggest you mind the business that pays you.

I'm so very happy they found each other. May they know a lifetime of love and happiness. We as humans have a choice in how we show up in the world everyday. I was in an interabled relationship in my early twenties. They have since passed away. I have a bit of insight into what she is going through. But as for the comment about their relationship being "unnatural" I can't even fathom what that means. Watching them together, they seem as natural and effortless as can be. I wish them nothing but the best and I'm glad they have eachother

Interabled couples are not unnatural. I am a man with a spinal cord injury with a fiance who has the most beautiful legs in the world. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. We met the year after my wreck which left me in a wheelchair. My girl is beautiful and smart and lovely in every way. When we go out, she pushes my chair or walks by my side. She is the most amazing person in my life. Our relationship is not weird as theirs is not either. If you are someone living with a disability, love is possible with the right person.

She's an introvert. I've noticed introverted women and disabled men seem to do very well together. Don't mean it as an insult it's just something I've noticed.

I used to have a friend that lost her legs to lupus so she started staying in a health care home. There were actually quite a few young people that lived there. Anyways it seems a lot of people think that your tryna take advantage of these people in wheelchairs and stuff. Meanwhile the ones that are quick to blame are usually the ones that take advantage of them. Alot of them just want a friend someone to talk to or help them. Even the nurses would be quick to judge and then we found out a lot of the nurses would steal off these people. Especially the paraplegics a lot of them had safes and cameras because the nurses were stealing. They knew who to do it to too it was crazy.

She is wonderful. My husband is 100% disabled due to the Iraq war. I could never imagine hearing from others he doesn't deserve to live and the other horrible comments from other people and still having such a good attitude. You two are doing an amazing job 👏 👏👏 Thank you for sharing.

People will always judge no matter what. you cannot go anywhere when you concentrate on what people of this earth are saying. Love is love.
I would still have married my husband even if he was in a wheel chair. I simply can't imagine my life without him. Even if we could only have five years together, I would still want that. After 25 years of marriage I became disabled. We have been together 35 years. Love is love. It makes you want to do anything to spend your time with that other person because there is no one else in the world like them.

They seem very happy, like any relationship they’ll have their own problems and it’s their business. In every relationship you have to balance your needs with your partners. Everyone is different and they clearly seem to have the balance better than most. I find it really interesting in these videos how different couples deal with it. Some find caring for one another brings them closer, in others prefer to have separate carers, and anything in between. You just gotta find your own level of happiness which is probably somewhere in between.

For those who think this is unnatural, to me it makes a lot of sense. He needs someone who can take care of him. For her, perhaps it makes her happy that she can make someone's life easier to deal with. They may have a lot in common in terms of interests. Combine all these things and it's easy to understand why they love each other. Also, if you look at it from a metaphysical standpoint, perhaps they were best friends in their past life. If that can be proven true, it would make a lot of sense for them to be drawn together in their present life.

OMG!! I so agree with this! Because it’s cool you’re proud of your relationship but the same reason they’re broadcasting it online is only because how (and I hate saying it) it appears. It’s hard getting a partner able-bodied, especially “the stereotypical thought of how the world works” thinking she’s just looking for money or a mail order bride. Because I will be honest with my thoughts, she’s really more his caretaker than lover and I could never imagine putting myself in this situation from the start, but that’s just me. Maria here. You are right about the anxiety and stress that exposure brings, but we want to raise awareness about disabilities and relationships. We want people to understand that those are possible, fulfilling and happy. It's true that such relationships are not for everyone, but for those that do not mind providing care and have romance at the same time - everything will be perfect.
We have taken on everything that social media exposure brings.
Just like I say about same sex couples, who are we to judge who someone else loves?? You could be in ANY relationship and still be judged just as harshly. People find any reason to hate. Im happy to see that love has no boundaries.
I hate the term interabled. I'm extremely disabled and my wife isn't. We're in a relationship same as anyone else except she has to drive me everywhere.

I don’t understand why anyone would comment on their life … unless their goal is to be social media influencers … which would make it plausible that their relationship is in fact a ploy to gain popularity.
I give her mad props because I just couldn’t go into a relationship from the start like this. That’s a lot of caregiving more than an actual partner/relationship or what comes with a partnership/relationship. Only my thoughts though, everyone is different. I wish them nothing but happiness and glad they found each other if this is genuine! 😉❤️

@@rebekahlovitt9540 Your feelings are valid, but another view can be that people making those comments might be self aware of their emotional limitations. As someone who has struggled with depression all my life, I choose not to have children or pets because taking care of MYSELF daily is exhausting and challenging. I don’t feel I have it in me to give to another person the care they would need, and we would both feel dissatisfied. Maybe one day, but not now. But there are plenty of people out there who can offer that level of support if that is what you are looking for. I’m not going to be right for some people, but someone will think I’m everything they hoped for. Sometimes we can only do so much about changing ourselves, and that’s ok because that is true for all humans. I think it is wonderful seeing many interabled couples on UA-cam because it de-mystifies the circumstances of how other people live. If ever I sustained an injury, I see how my life would need to adjust and I am now more aware how to accommodate others better. It also shows how some people enjoy being trolls, which is never ok. Having to endure those evil comments while maintaining optimism requires a lot of inner strength, which I admire immensely. I hope everyone reading this finds love and happiness in their lives!

She is very sweet. My niece has spinal muscular atrophy type 2 and I hope she finds somebody that will love her how she is and take care of her. I also carry the gene but I am not affected and neither is my daughter. But it’s 50/50 she is also a carrier. This genetic disease is the number one killer of babies under two years old and 1 and 40 people carry this disease. If both of the parents carry the disease it is very likely the baby will be affected.

Anyone who comments about her being with him for his money is really insulting her as a person; her heart; her integrity. The obvious negative comment would be something like; she's so pretty; why be with him? But that insults her as a person. What do people think? That a pretty woman cannot possibly love a man who has a disability? What an insult. It's just the same old adage; don't judge a book by its cover. While her outside is surely pretty, her heart is absolutely gorgeous because she sees his heart; and they match. Blessings to them.

How horrible, what people say. They are two people in love. They seem as though they truly do care for one another. Sure, she’s able-bodied and he isn’t. But disabled people are still humans. We are like you, even if we need accomodations or can’t perform the exact same functions. To imply that people only care for us out of pity, money, or attention… it’s hurtful. And very wrong.
Also, I can understand what he says, I reckon they should have subtitles for both of them.
People are just leaving rude comments because these two are in love and the haters are still lonely and unfulfilled in life lol

I just hope that she understands the responsibilities that she will have to be as his caregiver for the rest of his life if she chooses to marry him. We live in a village at the moment, so life is not that expensive.
Maria and I work in order to be able to afford a decent living. (She works in IT and I work in Music)
If one of us wouldn't work, we couldn't be able to support ourselves financially.
Maria is a wonderful woman and Catalin is so lucky and so blesses to have her by his side.
She love him unconditionally.

They are sexually turned on by a persons amputation, paralysis, muscle weakness, muscle spasms, limb difference, etc. If you have a disability then they are going to love you, whether you are looking for that love or not.
First of All, Society anywhere around the world will ALWAYS look at a relationship between someone that is "Differently-Abled" and an "Able-bodied" person in a Negative light. Same happens with me. I have Cerebral Palsy that affects both my arms and legs with muscle spasms on a daily basis. I am married for almost 3 years and we have a 3 year old daughter together. The first thing that the Society that are against relationships like this, assumes there's some kind of "Wealth" linked to why the Able-bodied person is in such a relationship with a Differently-abled person. Secondly one of the BIGGEST Assumptions is that people such as ourselves are not able to have kids. This is crazy. There's lots of other negative assumptions that are made of which none of them are close to being true. Everybody deserves to be loved NO MATTER WHAT... Nobody was put on this planet to live a lonely life.

...you can love anyone. Love doesn't mean it even needs to be sexual in nature. Maybe she's asexual, we don't know. But can literally love anyone. And if she was a gold digger, they wouldn't have started out as friends first and it would have been more of a red flag. But they only talked as friends first and got to know each other. Plus ppl who are disabled arent swimming with money. Lol. When's the last time you actually met a well off rich disabled person? Lol. Unless they get into investments, probably not a lot or any lol. I can only say my upstairs neighbors gf was a 'golddigger' for his disability, coz she literally popped up out of nowhere and was just living with him since the first day she ever came over. And she doesn't work. Just mooching off of free place to stay really...he died last year, and I feel like she's about to move out as the apartment seems less and less lived in
