Deep awareness of self and others through intimacy, the ability to feel the underlying energy in any situation, many interesting experiences within one incarnation, understanding the value of change and letting go, embracing my own positive power and sharing that with the world. If I could use one word to describe the 8th house it would be transformation.
I have such a difficult time letting go. My ascendent is in Scorpio and every time I need to let go of a relationship, it feels like such a crisis. Death, on the other hand, I am familiar with and comfortable with. Can you share if you had/have this extreme sadness during letting go and how you work through it? Thank you
That's beautifully put Kristin and I would totally agree, having strong 8th house placements myself. I've got 3 planets in Scorpio and 3 in the 8th including my sun. A capacity for intimacy, self awareness, and an understanding (an ongoing process) of the mystical side of life, are all positive aspects of the 8th.

What I recommend is to lean into the feelings of loss and grief, to allow the hurt to be felt..... if too much, then give yourself a limit and then shift your energy to something uplifting and show your brain that its okay to heal and move on. Then again when it hits you, allow the pain but do not stay there too long so its not too hard to get back up... You balance things out. You need to give it space through presence... n be there like a kind, supportive friend, only difference being that it's you, sitting with you... Being okay to be there for yourself no mater what... instead of craving the person you are letting go. Even with the craving of that person, it is what it is, so I just feel the craving n not try to not feel it... then the more I sit with all of it, it starts getting easy to let go because I am here for me. Any other support from another is a bonus.. but I am here for ne. So I love people enough to let them go where they prefer to be.. Allow what is even if it hurts..knowing in time, the hurt will dissolve too the more I sooth myself n nurture myself. Anyway, I hope this helps. ❤️

I now thank G-d I am finally past the pain (yes - it did convert me from atheist to believer), but the problem I face now is how to open up again. I have a six planet stellium in my 8th house and I think you hit nearly all the major themes. I’m an intuitive astrologer and tarot reader (occult), spent twenty years in accounting and taxes (other peoples money) and even volunteered as a hospice worker (death and trauma). I’ve lost very close loved ones in this lifetime and I find a recurring theme is to keep them alive through devotional memory. What I can promise anyone with a loaded 8th house such as mine: God does not give you what you cannot handle. Love this. Yes, I think House 8 has much to do with how we manage our relationships to others (opposite of H2 which is our attitudes and karma about money and the material realm) . We can get clues about how to best keep our power in relationships in H8 and if perhaps we ask for too much power and control or too little. Including how to set boundaries, create trust and if we have issues around ours or others boundaries.

I have sun and Venus conjunct in the eighth house in Gemini! so, anxiety, check! anxiety about love, check! I work part time in mental health and part-time as a holistic healer, and I definitely can see how other people find it very helpful when I share a path to healing from my own direct experience with these challenges… very similar to what you say!

I'm a Scorpio Sun with 8th house Libra Pluto and Venus, I'm a former crisis counselor and was a police department photographer at one timem After years of being a trauma therapist I have been focusing instead in my astrologer side (been doing that professionally on the side since being certified in 1990) and being an astrologer and medium is not as consistent reliability wise as having a "real" career but I feel far more on path and in alignment. I too use placidus houses in my clients and self.
In Vedic astrology the 8th house is considered to be a crisis oriented house and whatever planet is in the 8th - it will have some sort of weakness to it. It triggers progress due to crisis and it's considered to be a psyhic house. It operates as a storehouse for our unspoken emotions and also, ancestral karma. It reflects the hidden aspects of life, a person's longevity, vitality, life force, sexual strength, attraction and potency. It deals with hidden resources, astrology, occult, secret subjects, controvercy, transformation, death and beyond death experiences. While the 5th house is related to the initiation of sex, the 8th is how deeply can one connect through sex or other intimare sharing. It's the conjugal bond between partners; the support that one can get from the other through partnership (joint finances). The 8th house is also called the 'suffering house', especially if it's influenced by malefic planets. The previously mentioned makes it difficult to occur and access and if does occur - it won't be pleasant at all. Being an 8th house Sun with a ton of cosmic company in this house, I was disappointed in how dark and dreary this house was described. There is nothing to fear in the 8th house unless you are afraid of being vulnerable. There is so much magic and power in this house if you can be aware of how to co-create with the energy of life. Yes, crisis, trauma, death, are all potent themes that can be intimidating, but these are all flavors of life. The 8th house gives us the ability to travel to the underworld and traverse the dark hallways of our soul, yet we also have the ability to resurface with strength, grace and the treasures of the soul. To me this is the house of resilience, renewal, and remembering. But I think you only get the fierce placement if it is your lived experience.
Exactly! For a person who has malefic influences to the 8th, it's difficult to relate to others without being subjective and one-sided. My ascendant lord is in the 8th and I absolutely love this placement.

I think I've been there. It was that " why am I even alive ! " When you get so weary that you ask yourself if there was a lesson, what was it ? If you learned it will you ever need it ? Hmm. I like my 8th house placements, actually--Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Cancer, part of a grand trine in water. I've never felt it was a difficult placement. And although neither my nor husband's family is rich by any means, the money we've received through inheritance has been an enormous help to us for which we are grateful and not in any way conflicted because of the loss of a family member, however loved and missed. All this darkness around the 8th is just not connecting for me.
Well, you do have Jupiter, the greater benefic and a big indicator of what area in your life will inspire optimism and provide good fortune, in your 8th house. It makes perfect sense that you'd find your 8th house experiences positive, but most people's 8th house experiences are negative.
@@profkarenExalted Jupiter in Cancer would support the moon being debilitated in the eighth house. Jupiter aspects my moon in Cancer in the 6th from the second in Pisces and Jupiter certainly does come through with optimism and support during dark times in my experience and observation. It’s incredible how well placed Jupiter supports and influences natives to treat others in ways that grants positive karma. I’ve noticed that well placed and aspected Jupiterian Synastry protects relationships from getting Absolutely demoralized through harshness. Jupiter will also sorta protect Plutonian aspects. We can always count on a medieval astrologer to give representation to the stark, unmerciful aspects within life, and it's important that astrology doesn't lose the ability to speak to those things in life that don't really have a silver lining. Not everything that happens in life serves your highest good, or is transformative for the better; sometimes things just suck and hurt. And it's okay to let the astrology speak to that, because it's real, and we want our astrology to accurately represent life.
I believe I transformed through the 8th house, and I'm very grateful, although I'm a Scorpio Rising! I learned so much from my mother's life after death experience, 8th house. And Mars is transiting my 8th house currently, I've done so much work during this time, but glad it has gone direct now.
I like his point of view, I was once told by a beautiful teacher that whenever in a heavy transit to ask the planets if that heavy process necessary, if not, can we change it to be better and I tried it and it actually worked.

I have Chiron 18’ and Saturn 4’ in Pisces in the 8h… my 2nd return coming right up. I have lots of strong sextiles and trines to personal planets with Saturn. It’s a depth house and it has really helped me to develop an enormous amount of responsibility, resilience, and spiritual grit. It’s true, in my life to be able (not planned) to naturally be able to guide businesses and people through extremely chaotic events.

This was great! I am a sag rising and virgo sun/moon/mercury. My 8th house in cancer has Jupiter conjunct mars. The anxiety part of the discussion made so much sense to me (as I can struggle with anxiety and sometimes irrational fears)! I am also a financial advisor, which I inherited from my mother who was the founder of our firm. I work primarily with women. I am comfortable helping others going through difficult life experiences. I also experienced incredibly rare and scary health issues when I was younger. Wow, this felt quite literal to me, thank you!

Regarding sex in the eighth house, is accurate because normally people hide it and do it in complete privacy. It's not sex perse ,but it's human nature that it's one of our most private and personal aspect. The fifth house pertains to outward expression of our inner generated creativity, talents , inspirations and activities that make us feel good.

Getting ready for Jupiter Gemini in my 8th, my Mercury is natally in my 10th Leo, and this really helped! Rhyan's advice on the pre anxiety anxiety was spot on and something that has really helped me.
Jupiter always gives you a 'release' or freedom from burdens, release from debt, from bad relationships and from life especially when your suffering because of it. It's quite visible in death charts (the Queen) and release from prison charts. Nelson Mandela had his Jupiter return at the time.
I’m an aries and its in the eight house. My mars is in aqarius. My Jupiter and Pluto are in the 12. What Ive noticed through my life is that I think I am watched over spiritually. I’ve never had a problem in getting loans for real estate investments. I love animals and they love me.
Yes, placidus shows I have a stellium in 8th house. Sun, (cancer)venus,Uranus (Leo) and Pluto (Virgo)It feels more true to me than whole sign houses but I tend to look at both to compare and contrast. Whole sign houses make learning astrology and the transits easier, imho. The interception of my 8th house also provides insight . But I’ve come to compare the house systems more and more.l like that it puts another lens on things
One needs to remember the 'elements' that are really important also. Scorpio, a water sign, knows a thing to two.....about the dark side of life. Like other water signs, has knowledge of the occult, spiritual matters, and the spirit. Which, of course, he did touch on. Oh! and on the end Did touch on the Elements!!

This is the first time I am learning this perspective on the 8th house. About 10 min in and trying to understand what having my Sun and the North Node in my 8th house which is Taurus - also also having a NNodal return right now. My exact NN return is about 6degrees of Taurus coming up in the next few months. Since Uranus moved into Taurus, to the day, my life had a drastic shift - and I was not even connected with astrology at the level that I am now. Trying to understand my solar cycle since it activates my 8th house EVERY YEAR!! I have had a successful career with the commensurate money that came with it and in May 2018 I gave the “financial security” up to pursue what my soul had been pulling me towards - which I did not know what it was. Actually the Universe kicked me on that path. Oh so much to try to understand here. Anyone with any insights about Sun and NNode in 8th house and then the NNodal return happening right now???
Short answer: no With Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn there, my life is full of transformational experiences. While they’re happening and in earlier stages of life ( prior to 40), I’ve had my conversations with God, incessant questions and victim mode. In hindsight, the revelations are priceless. Acceptance and patience are a must. One transit that almost took me out was the Jupiter Saturn Pluto conjunctions of 2020. The positives : insane research abilities, digging deep when shit hits the fan, psychology, eager to dig deep into the subconscious, meditative practices are off the charts, interest in hermeticism, occult, energy work ( but extremely cautious and fearful of practicing), tarot…

Loved this discussion. So much to think about and process. I have sun in the 8th house in Aries, moon in the 12th in Leo. Just listened to a Vedic analysis that said when the ruler of the 12th is in the 8th, this is a Raj yoga that supports the sun in overcoming all obstacles.

I have Chiron conjunct Venus in Virgo 8th and i have gone through immense transformation/growth around themes of love/nurturing and intimacy being associated with deep pains. Im curious, has Astrology Hub ever thought about doing a special episode series on Chiron? I feel like there’s not enough teaching out there on how to work with Chiron.. esp when there’s challenging aspects to personal planets. Chiron has been a prominent force in my spiritual journey and it’s brought me so much growth, strength, autonomy and self love.. but man it is deeply painful to work with !
As someone with 6 planets in the 8th house I had a hard time with this astrologers take. It felt slightly negative and I love my 8th house placement. I think it has brought my life incredible depth and yes lots of opportunity for transmutation lol but I believe all for my souls benefit.

8H stellium and I worked in Emergency Medical Services for 14yrs. It became extremely taxing and I transitioned into library services. A slower pace, but I was able to be of service to many. All of my natal placements are in the 1H, 8H, 10H and 12H and none of them are fun. However, they are fulfilling.

I have Pluto in my 8th at 28 degrees in Libra. I’m going through the Pluto square right now and it for me was devastating death of a life I knew and loved to feeling like I was sent into a life I hate and my soul really struggles with this. I have Saturn conjunct Pluto and both mars and moon square Pluto. I at 40 now see where I let myself be in situations where I was not valued. My self worth was also a factor. I have always had self confidence but apparently my self worth was not equivalent. Going through what I have the last couple years because of a break up with a very disrespectful and toxic person was a soul lesson of complete rebirth and transformation. I have gone through all the stages… anger, grief, despair, depression, im only now coming out of anxiety and becoming more centered energetically. Maybe my Pluto conjunct my Saturn let me live this stalled life of more of a rose colored glasses with zero discernment and the Pluto square said it’s time to go through this new reality you must endure. It’s affected every single thing and aspect of my life, mentality, home, community, relationships, relating, thinking, being, responding….. everything.
I checked the transiting chart of my colleague’s father and it shows the heavy activity related to the 8th house with transitingJupiter in speed. Things will expand rapidly about debt or death. But I dare not to say about death and she denied about her dad’s debt. One month later her dad caught corona virus and died with 4 days in the hospital due to the fast escalating of the virus. I felt devastated.
I have Venus retrograde at the anaretic last critical degrees of Leo and the waning balsamic moon at zero degrees on the 8th. I’m forever getting my heart broken, being approached with illicit relations, being taken for granted, in financially skewed relations where I am the one doing all of the giving and gifting, and i do see my ability to be resilient inspires others but I feel like our Guide here, I would rather not have had to go through the nightmares…
I think we should consider that it's also possible to lose a negative thing. Even if we believe it's something we need, once we "lose" it, the revelation may be that we are freed by the loss.
My chart ruler, Venus in Taurus, is on the cusp of the Placidus 8th house but in the 7th Koch house and the 8th house by whole sign. Do you think it's really in the 8th?
I check out different systems to get clarity of a different viewpoint sometimes. I heard somewhere that Placidus give a glimpse into the psychology of the native. I’m really looking forward to Gemini Brett’s video on the house systems!!
Say it like it is, yes, but also don't simplify it especially based on your own experiences. I understand that the experience of anxiety was traumatic for Ryhan but not acknowledging ANY potential in the 8th house is also not right. There is darkness but there is beauty in the darkness- there is strength that you never would've known you had. The part about resources I felt was a copout answer. If the chart shows the hard things we face, it also shows the resources we have to deal with them, and the 8th house definitely has a connection with resources of many kinds both material and non-material. I feel sad that many people relatively new to astrology are getting a narrow one-sided treatment of the 8th house from this video.

I have Mercury, Sun, Venus all in Gemini in my 8th house using Placidus. If I use whole signs, you can throw in Mars in Gemini as well. I worked in healthcare for 35 years as a respiratory therapist and dealt with death, dying and emergency situations on a daily basis. I've experienced significant losses within my immediate family and friends and have received inheritances. I'm also interested in things that might be considered occult-crystals, oracle decks, shamanism, angels and astrology.

The house systems are all valid. And so are the all of the western and Eastern zodiacs and Numerology systems. And the Card systems are also true. I like Robert Lee Camp and his Cards of Your Destiny 2004 edition. And I like the many books on the degrees of the zodiac. I find I have more information the more I use these various ways of divination.

I don't understand why you say the 8th house doesnt aspect the ascendant. I have 3 planets in my 8th house that are trine to my ascendant degree. My ascendant degree is 3 degrees Aries. I have neptune 2 degrees sag and venus at 3 degrees sag and I also have juptier at 29 degrees scorpio and mars at 22 degrees scorpio. I use the house system placidus. Did I misunderstand what you said? I'm confused.

What I recommend is to lean into the feelings of loss and grief, to allow the hurt to be felt..... if too much, then give yourself a limit and then shift your energy to something uplifting and show your brain that its okay to heal and move on. Then again when it hits you, allow the pain but do not stay there too long so its not too hard to get back up... You balance things out. You need to give it space through presence... n be there like a kind, supportive friend, only difference being that it's you, sitting with you... Being okay to be there for yourself no mater what... instead of craving the person you are letting go. Even with the craving of that person, it is what it is, so I just feel the craving n not try to not feel it... then the more I sit with all of it, it starts getting easy to let go because I am here for me. Any other support from another is a bonus.. but I am here for ne. So I love people enough to let them go where they prefer to be.. Allow what is even if it hurts..knowing in time, the hurt will dissolve too the more I sooth myself n nurture myself.

I have a six planet stellium in my 8th house and I think you hit nearly all the major themes. I’m an intuitive astrologer and tarot reader (occult), spent twenty years in accounting and taxes (other peoples money) and even volunteered as a hospice worker (death and trauma). I’ve lost very close loved ones in this lifetime and I find a recurring theme is to keep them alive through devotional memory. What I can promise anyone with a loaded 8th house such as mine: God does not give you what you cannot handle. The depth of your strength is your gift and through your hard experiences, others will find inspiration and healing. For those of you going through hard 8th house transits, this is an invitation to get comfortable with the idea of power. Recognize when you give your power away to others. This is what I call an ego death, where we too often struggle to ask for help or assistance. Explore your relationship to control as well. When we focus too much on having control we abandon our hope and optimism. These transits can be hard but they serve you to overcome victimization until you see that inner strength emerge. Love this. Yes, I think House 8 has much to do with how we manage our relationships to others (opposite of H2 which is our attitudes and karma about money and the material realm) . We can get clues about how to best keep our power in relationships in H8 and if perhaps we ask for too much power and control or too little. Including how to set boundaries, create trust and if we have issues around ours or others boundaries.
I volunteer with hospice too! I'm an End of Life Doula. My dad was electrocuted when I was a teen too. So much loss, but so much area for healing.

I have sun and Venus conjunct in the eighth house in Gemini! so, anxiety, check! anxiety about love, check! I work part time in mental health and part-time as a holistic healer, and I definitely can see how other people find it very helpful when I share a path to healing from my own direct experience with these challenges… very similar to what you say!

I'm a Scorpio Sun with 8th house Libra Pluto and Venus, I'm a former crisis counselor and was a police department photographer at one timem After years of being a trauma therapist I have been focusing instead in my astrologer side (been doing that professionally on the side since being certified in 1990) and being an astrologer and medium is not as consistent reliability wise as having a "real" career but I feel far more on path and in alignment. I too use placidus houses in my clients and self.
In Vedic astrology the 8th house is considered to be a crisis oriented house and whatever planet is in the 8th - it will have some sort of weakness to it. It triggers progress due to crisis and it's considered to be a psyhic house. It operates as a storehouse for our unspoken emotions and also, ancestral karma. It reflects the hidden aspects of life, a person's longevity, vitality, life force, sexual strength, attraction and potency.
It deals with hidden resources, astrology, occult, secret subjects, controvercy, transformation, death and beyond death experiences.
While the 5th house is related to the initiation of sex, the 8th is how deeply can one connect through sex or other intimare sharing. It's the conjugal bond between partners; the support that one can get from the other through partnership (joint finances).
The 8th house is also called the 'suffering house', especially if it's influenced by malefic planets. The previously mentioned makes it difficult to occur and access and if does occur - it won't be pleasant at all. It leads to anxiety, fear, long term illnesses, legal battles etc. On the other hand, the well supported 8th - is good for astrologers, psychologists, psychoanalysts, researchers, financial analysts and professionals who deal with trauma and crisis.

Being an 8th house Sun with a ton of cosmic company in this house, I was disappointed in how dark and dreary this house was described. There is nothing to fear in the 8th house unless you are afraid of being vulnerable. There is so much magic and power in this house if you can be aware of how to co-create with the energy of life. Yes, crisis, trauma, death, are all potent themes that can be intimidating, but these are all flavors of life. The 8th house gives us the ability to travel to the underworld and traverse the dark hallways of our soul, yet we also have the ability to resurface with strength, grace and the treasures of the soul. To me this is the house of resilience, renewal, and remembering. But I think you only get the fierce placement if it is your lived experience.

Hmm. I like my 8th house placements, actually--Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Cancer, part of a grand trine in water. I've never felt it was a difficult placement. And although neither my nor husband's family is rich by any means, the money we've received through inheritance has been an enormous help to us for which we are grateful and not in any way conflicted because of the loss of a family member, however loved and missed. All this darkness around the 8th is just not connecting for me.
Well, you do have Jupiter, the greater benefic and a big indicator of what area in your life will inspire optimism and provide good fortune, in your 8th house. It makes perfect sense that you'd find your 8th house experiences positive, but most people's 8th house experiences are negative.

Jupiter aspects my moon in Cancer in the 6th from the second in Pisces and Jupiter certainly does come through with optimism and support during dark times in my experience and observation. It’s incredible how well placed Jupiter supports and influences natives to treat others in ways that grants positive karma. I’ve noticed that well placed and aspected Jupiterian Synastry protects relationships from getting Absolutely demoralized through harshness. Jupiter will also sorta protect Plutonian aspects. We can always count on a medieval astrologer to give representation to the stark, unmerciful aspects within life, and it's important that astrology doesn't lose the ability to speak to those things in life that don't really have a silver lining. I have Chiron 18’ and Saturn 4’ in Pisces in the 8h… my 2nd return coming right up. I have lots of strong sextiles and trines to personal planets with Saturn. It’s a depth house and it has really helped me to develop an enormous amount of responsibility, resilience, and spiritual grit. It’s true, in my life to be able (not planned) to naturally be able to guide businesses and people through extremely chaotic events.

This was great! I am a sag rising and virgo sun/moon/mercury. My 8th house in cancer has Jupiter conjunct mars. The anxiety part of the discussion made so much sense to me (as I can struggle with anxiety and sometimes irrational fears)! I am also a financial advisor, which I inherited from my mother who was the founder of our firm. I work primarily with women. I am comfortable helping others going through difficult life experiences. I also experienced incredibly rare and scary health issues when I was younger. Wow, this felt quite literal to me, thank you!

Regarding sex in the eighth house, is accurate because normally people hide it and do it in complete privacy. It's not sex perse ,but it's human nature that it's one of our most private and personal aspect. The fifth house pertains to outward expression of our inner generated creativity, talents , inspirations and activities that make us feel good.

Getting ready for Jupiter Gemini in my 8th, my Mercury is natally in my 10th Leo, and this really helped! Rhyan's advice on the pre anxiety anxiety was spot on and something that has really helped me.
Jupiter always gives you a 'release' or freedom from burdens, release from debt, from bad relationships and from life especially when your suffering because of it. It's quite visible in death charts (the Queen) and release from prison charts. Nelson Mandela had his Jupiter return at the time.

Yes, placidus shows I have a stellium in 8th house. Sun, (cancer)venus,Uranus (Leo) and Pluto (Virgo)It feels more true to me than whole sign houses but I tend to look at both to compare and contrast. Whole sign houses make learning astrology and the transits easier, imho. The interception of my 8th house also provides insight . But I’ve come to compare the house systems more and more.l like that it puts another lens on things
I can speak to the 8th house inheritance aspect. I didn't believe an astrologer decades ago but . . . it happened.
Placidus system really works for me. I learned astrology since 2018 and with all my experiences the Placidus resonates with me very well.
One needs to remember the 'elements' that are really important also. Scorpio, a water sign, knows a thing to two.....about the dark side of life. Like other water signs, has knowledge of the occult, spiritual matters, and the spirit. Which, of course, he did touch on. Oh! and on the end Did touch on the Elements!!

This is the first time I am learning this perspective on the 8th house. About 10 min in and trying to understand what having my Sun and the North Node in my 8th house which is Taurus - also also having a NNodal return right now. My exact NN return is about 6degrees of Taurus coming up in the next few months.
Since Uranus moved into Taurus, to the day, my life had a drastic shift - and I was not even connected with astrology at the level that I am now.
Trying to understand my solar cycle since it activates my 8th house EVERY YEAR!!

With Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn there, my life is full of transformational experiences. While they’re happening and in earlier stages of life ( prior to 40), I’ve had my conversations with God, incessant questions and victim mode. In hindsight, the revelations are priceless. Acceptance and patience are a must.
One transit that almost took me out was the Jupiter Saturn Pluto conjunctions of 2020.
The positives : insane research abilities, digging deep when shit hits the fan, psychology, eager to dig deep into the subconscious, meditative practices are off the charts, interest in hermeticism, occult, energy work ( but extremely cautious and fearful of practicing), tarot…

Loved this discussion. So much to think about and process. I have sun in the 8th house in Aries, moon in the 12th in Leo. Just listened to a Vedic analysis that said when the ruler of the 12th is in the 8th, this is a Raj yoga that supports the sun in overcoming all obstacles.

I have Chiron conjunct Venus in Virgo 8th and i have gone through immense transformation/growth around themes of love/nurturing and intimacy being associated with deep pains. Im curious, has Astrology Hub ever thought about doing a special episode series on Chiron? I feel like there’s not enough teaching out there on how to work with Chiron.. esp when there’s challenging aspects to personal planets. Chiron has been a prominent force in my spiritual journey and it’s brought me so much growth, strength, autonomy and self love.. but man it is deeply painful to work with !

I have the south node in the 8th/Taurus; sadly, I lost my dad as a child and inherited his home as a result.
As someone with 6 planets in the 8th house I had a hard time with this astrologers take. It felt slightly negative and I love my 8th house placement. I think it has brought my life incredible depth and yes lots of opportunity for transmutation lol but I believe all for my souls benefit.

8H stellium and I worked in Emergency Medical Services for 14yrs. It became extremely taxing and I transitioned into library services. A slower pace, but I was able to be of service to many. All of my natal placements are in the 1H, 8H, 10H and 12H and none of them are fun. However, they are fulfilling.
I’m an 8th house Aries ♈️ 26* Sun ☀️(no other planets there). With Jupiter currently going thru till May ‘23 Will Jupiter EXPAND the good sun stuff or will it expand negative? And yes lots of inheritance over the decades from lots of death in my life. 🤦♀️
I have Pluto in my 8th at 28 degrees in Libra. I’m going through the Pluto square right now and it for me was devastating death of a life I knew and loved to feeling like I was sent into a life I hate and my soul really struggles with this. I have Saturn conjunct Pluto and both mars and moon square Pluto. I at 40 now see where I let myself be in situations where I was not valued. My self worth was also a factor. I have always had self confidence but apparently my self worth was not equivalent. Going through what I have the last couple years because of a break up with a very disrespectful and toxic person was a soul lesson of complete rebirth and transformation. I have gone through all the stages… anger, grief, despair, depression, im only now coming out of anxiety and becoming more centered energetically. Maybe my Pluto conjunct my Saturn let me live this stalled life of more of a rose colored glasses with zero discernment and the Pluto square said it’s time to go through this new reality you must endure. It’s affected every single thing and aspect of my life, mentality, home, community, relationships, relating, thinking, being, responding….. everything.

I checked the transiting chart of my colleague’s father and it shows the heavy activity related to the 8th house with transitingJupiter in speed. Things will expand rapidly about debt or death. But I dare not to say about death and she denied about her dad’s debt.
One month later her dad caught corona virus and died with 4 days in the hospital due to the fast escalating of the virus.

Say it like it is, yes, but also don't simplify it especially based on your own experiences. I understand that the experience of anxiety was traumatic for Ryhan but not acknowledging ANY potential in the 8th house is also not right. There is darkness but there is beauty in the darkness- there is strength that you never would've known you had. The part about resources I felt was a copout answer. If the chart shows the hard things we face, it also shows the resources we have to deal with them, and the 8th house definitely has a connection with resources of many kinds both material and non-material. I feel sad that many people relatively new to astrology are getting a narrow one-sided treatment of the 8th house from this video.

I have Venus/Saturn conjunct in Scorpio in the 8th house. For most of my career (psych RN), I worked on an inpatient crisis unit.
Leo sun, Leo moon and Venus in Virgo all in 8th house. I have always felt otherworldly and somewhat mysterious to other people.

I have Mercury, Sun, Venus all in Gemini in my 8th house using Placidus. If I use whole signs, you can throw in Mars in Gemini as well. I worked in healthcare for 35 years as a respiratory therapist and dealt with death, dying and emergency situations on a daily basis. I've experienced significant losses within my immediate family and friends and have received inheritances. I'm also interested in things that might be considered occult-crystals, oracle decks, shamanism, angels and astrology.

I just found out that I have sun ven mercury 8th cap. I started learning more in depth during the last degree cap in Pluto. I am still like wow.
In one house system, I have only mercury retrograde, but in another I have uranus also retrograde. ?
That shouldn't happen... The house system doesn't actually affect the planets. Could it be that you're looking at a slightly different time?

The house systems are all valid. And so are the all of the western and Eastern zodiacs and Numerology systems. And the Card systems are also true. I like Robert Lee Camp and his Cards of Your Destiny 2004 edition.
And I like the many books on the degrees of the zodiac. I find I have more information the more I use these various ways of divination.

I don't understand why you say the 8th house doesnt aspect the ascendant. I have 3 planets in my 8th house that are trine to my ascendant degree. My ascendant degree is 3 degrees Aries. I have neptune 2 degrees sag and venus at 3 degrees sag and I also have juptier at 29 degrees scorpio and mars at 22 degrees scorpio. I use the house system placidus. Did I misunderstand what you said? I'm confused.
