That Audi 100 coupe is beautiful 🤩
Honestly my friend „extrem“ rare is something else. You featured some of the best selling German cars ever!
Best selling at the time? Yes - in 2022? Extreme rare!
@@matteiasm.3618 a car that is extreme rare would be super cars form the 60's not a car that can be affordable by the middle class
@@matteiasm.3618 Then according to that description every car produced before 1990 is extremely rare because most of them are dead in 2022
German cars.
German design.
German engineer.
German weapons.
German componist.
German knowhow.
Are amazing !
aber nicht selten !
Audi 100 Coupe S
The sound of a two-stroke engine is priceless ... and that smell of smoke from the exhaust pipe 💥💥🤘😁
That Opel Diplomat is pretty cool looking. I'd drive one.
"Extra Rare German Cars"... The Golf 1 was the best selling car in Europe in the 70ies... The W 107 in 2021 can be seen twice a week in every city...
Indeed. But try to find a good MK1. And then try to find a good GTI. They are incredible rare theses days. Lots of them went to the scrap and the engines and many party were exported to south africa. They build the MK1 for years after Wolfsburg went on to more modern versions. But the south african version had only 90PS and of course they had some power hungry car aficionados around.
@@ciddax754 You want to come to a VW meeting in North London at a place called the Ace Cafe there's loads of good mk1 Golf GTI's that go there ,they are not that rare in the UK.
@@NUBBY39 That sounds like a very cool event and place. I will surley visit, when I'm again in UK. Here in germany you see them typically only on special events and gatherings. The ones that are still around are to precious to be daily drivers. Most folks drive them only with saisonal licence plates.
@@ciddax754 I've been trying to post a link for you about the place but my posts keep being deleted
We had the Golf 1 as best seller in 2009...and at one point the only country in the world to have the Golf mk1 and mk2 and mk3 being produced at the same time..be it brief.RSA has been blessed with some beautiful cars over the years..hey the First BMW plant outside of Germany was Rosslyn BMW South Africa.
Top Video, LIKE and thank you very much !!! Many interesting awesome cars, but my heart beats for the red beauty AUDI Coupe S...
It's bad when you've nearly seen all these cars in the flesh means getting old 🤭🏴
Since when does the Carrera have a straight 6?
A Golf 1 was sold in 6,8 million units. The whole Golf production surpassed the units of the VW Beetle within half the time.
And most of the cars are not extra rare nor rare
Golf also had a 1.6 not 1.8
@@bobqzzi
There was a Golf GTI mit 1.8l (112 HP) with the engine code DX.
The other GTI had 1.6 and 110HP
Only built between 1982 and 1983.
There was an exrra modell based on it, the Pirelli GTI and VW built 10,000 of them.
So they are rare.
The „DKW F102“was a 1.2 liter 3 cylinder inline two-stroke with 44kW not a V6 with 80hp.
You're wrong. F 102 V6 was also produced. 1288cm3 also with 2 stroke, 59KW(80HP) engine.
Missing the NSU Ro80 Wankel here.
Yes! The NSU Ro80 was a classic --in looks and in using Rotary power. But the rotary seals weren't good yet and fuel economy & emissions --the Energy Crisis...
Opel sure did make cool cars back in the day.
Opel Gt was my first car. Quick like 90 horses in a gocart. Red just like that one.
Vandalized for the stereo they wanted to salvage it. I said no.
Later it was crashed in a mild fender bender by my first love.
Funny how it goes. One thing you love destroyed by another.
This car was my first love too, I was in the fourth grade and my young female teacher drove it. Also red...
I'd be content to have back my opel Ascona almost bought a GT for 350 pretty straight car needed a clutch, couldn't find a throw out bearing though
Brazil produced a car called Opala Diplomata by Chevrolet (Opel), from 1968 'til 1992. There was some versions... the Diplomata, the SS, the SL, there was a coupé, the sedan... very similar to the Opel Diplomat. And they sold by the thousands here. It was my first car, an Opala SL 1989 burgundy. You can find thousands of videos of Opalas here in the UA-cam... we like to tune them for drag racing...
Boa explicação!! 🙌🏽🙏🏽🇧🇷🐌💨💨💨
for some reason as a european, I believe the Opala's are quite frankly awesome. Combining Opel styling with chevrolet internals is never a bad thing.
The Chevrolet Opala was a rebadged 1966 Opel Rekord "C", not an Opel Diplomat :-)
@@heikosteffens1661 yes sir !
That Bitter is beautiful
Those were some very interesting looking cars and some I see why they got rid of them. I would like to have a few myself. Good video. Thanks
1:39 not a pretty thing.
there was a golden age, now they make some boxes, I don’t really like it
I have an orange opel by. I love the looks of the Audi coupe!
That was supposed to be gt, of course
That Opel is amazing.
This Audi 100 Coupe looks Killer even today.
The Thumbnail Audi is by far the Most beautiful ive ever Seen
I love the original exhaut-pipe sound.😊
yes, he growls so funny)
Love the video. Porsche 911 had a straight 6 did it.? Put that down too a typing error shall we. Lol
Coincidentally, I just watched a documentary yesterday on ZDF which was partly about the RS1000 and the maker's dream and determination to produce such a car against all the odds in the then German Democratic Republic. A fascinating story.
Can't beat a classic 🤘
Never knew Opel was German or quick at all! Haha! What a blast!!!
..that first car (Opel) is fantastic...
If I had to pick 3 of those cars, 1st would be the Audi 100 coupe, 2nd BMW 2002, and 3rd BMW 635 CSi. They were popular in the UK back in the day.
I love the 2002
This Amphicar Model 770 ♥️
I was hoping for a BMW E9. But E24 is also a beautiful car! Same with Audi 100 coupe💓
So many cars, so little time! Some of them are pretty desirable and some I like just for the weirdness factor.
Вот это авто ! Супер! Вот тогда были мастера немцы рукастые ! Неубиваемые тачки на все времена
Omg the thumbnail Audi what a dream
Dude… sign me up for that Opel Diplomat. That car owns
Important ones that you're missing:
- Ro 80
- BMW 600 (The bigger version of Isetta, they pretend it doesn't exist)
For the 80s:
Porsche 938
BMW M8 (not the Alpine 850, but the real M8, which there was only two, which they show almost never)
Good call. I would also add the Glas V8.
Base for bitter was opel.
Porche and opel are the beast here in this video
rare is something else my dude :D
That Audi in the thumbnail...
didn't see the exackt same one in the video even if the red one was a nice ex.
The Opel diplomat looks so gangster
раньше было авто исскуство в дизайне автомобилей, каждая машина имела свой шарм и индивидуальность. Сейчас автодизайнеры потеряли этот дар
That 635csi tho 👑
Wow
Che stile le macchine di una volta
Melkus 😀👍👍👍👍
Even more rare than all of these, the Messerschmitt KR200.
True.. Theresa..
one extreme rare would be the Trabant 1.1
38.256 have been built from 1988 - 1991.
3.000.000 were built of the older versions from 1964 to 1990.
Oh ja,das waren geile Auto's! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰👍😜💪💪🤣
That Diplomat looks so much like a Holden.
That's because it is.
Essentially.
Both are GM cars, Holden for Australia, Opel for Germany.
Then there was Vauxhall for Great Britain. General Motors really got around.
"Here's your ticket"...didn't you read the trunk? I've got immunity
Porsche whit straight 6 and dkw whit v6 on 1,1 liter. OMG
Most of the cars shown are modified... could have been cool to see the standard versions. Thanks for your video
Thank you Luc :)
The BIG Opel ended up as an Australian Domestic model . Kingswood , Brougham and Statesman - HOLDENS . GM Australia with GM engines at first .
The Melkus , with PROPER exhaust could have been Brutal . Double the Power within scope .
The " Bitter " , ( Bitte' - Thankyou ? ) was a Lovely looking bit of Kit .
AWS - Shopper . German Gogomobil ?
Умели машины делать 👍🏼 Спасибо за подборку.
Knew...sadly
6 serie 😍😜
Wow that Opal sounds great Eh not sure what year it was
Audi 100 coupe's 🤤😍
Agree, my Favourite :)
@@CarNewsTV shes a beauty such a eye catcher
that audi 100 is just a mix of some lancia-&-alfa's coupè hahahaha, incredible.
Good video but each vehicle segment is too short 👎🏼 some are shorter than others. It would be nice to see more of the cars in action for a longer period of time. Some are almost just a glimpse of them! Thanks
You cold've included the Audi 80 B1 too...
The Carrera RS has a FLAT 6 2.7 LITERS
Could be a 3 cylinder engine, but that sound is awesome. 0:55
2 stroke power 🤩
It is more a mix of extra rare cars like melkus, the shopper and nowadays rare like BMW and benz.
How about the Thurner RS. A bit like the Melkus but better.
Good job good luck and good life, keep breath
Porsche has never had a straight 6. It was an air cooled boxer engine.
Carrera RS with a straight 6 huh? I don't mean to differ with you sir, but the RS is a flat 6. It's always been a flat 6.
AWS shopper😳
The Opel Diplomat looks like a Pontiac GTO from the 60s
The amphicar is the only car in this list that i saw in real life
Was hoping to see my Ro80 in the list…or have they all broken ? lol
The pictire for this video is the same place the audi RS 7 was taken pictures of.
Opel Diplomat looks like a 4 door Nova
I think the German made Fords will be very special. Merkur Scorpio and XRT4.
The Bitter CD was in fact developed as a coupe version of the Opel Diplomat, made by Bitter. It was shown to the world as "Coupé Diplomat"in 1969. The car hit the market in 1973 named "Bitter Diplomat CD" but the name "Diplomat" was dropped as many customers wished for that. For them the Opel brand and the model name Diplomat was way too plebian. The Bitter was a VERY expensive car costing around 60000 DM. For that kind of money you could get a Porsche 911 in the most expensive trim level. Or a Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3 and an additional VW Beatle on top. Because Opel canceled the Diplomat in 77 the Bitter was not that long in construction. Only 395 were made. You could call the car the german DeTomaso Pantera. It was based one mass model (around 21000 Diplomats were made) with very reliable technic under the hood, but aimed for the sporty luxury market.
and it actually did not have the V8, but a bored out Opel straight six up to 4 liter
Lol the AWS Shopper had the license Plate of my German Region wtf hahaha
thanks god german guys have asked to our italian designers to help them.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
My mom actually had the audi 100 as her first or second car
AWS shopper looks like something Jeremy Clarkson would build
3:40 I have E28 535is but I love that damn E24 and the E24 clips you used are awesome, thanks. There is one at the start of this video North of Seattle this summer ua-cam.com/video/zzi0R5PS3DQ/v-deo.html
Thank you Christopher ! :)
That Porsche Carrera does NOT have a straight 6 engine.
La golf mk1 tre porte è la più bella di tutte le golf
My dad had one Audi 100 coupe 😆
sorry , only the amphicar, the aws shopper and the melkus are very rare !
all the others are the standart of german streets since the last 50 years !
Audi 100 coupe is a German version of FIAT Dino Coupe...
That Shopper was the future of automobiles LOL
It will if the Greens ever come to power. LOL
I wonder if anyone has survived a crash in one. Looks way more lethal than a Trabant - and they're bad enough already!
Bitter CD was completely inspired in the Maserati Ghibli
CD means Coupé Diplomat. That is what Erich Bitter said recently After his 90 th Birthday
SC means Senator Coupé
My very thought. Looked nearly same.
Where's the VW SP2?
Truly loved the Bitter, the Audi Coupe and the 6er BMW when I was a young kid…..funnywise never liked the GT
he forgot the trabant :)
Never seen an Opel Diplomat with horizontal front lights.
the last year of production had the horizontal lights.
German Cars! 🇩🇪
Some of these were far from rare…
Yes, agree! Like the VW Karman Ghia! and the Opel GT (nice car that, with styling based partly on the Ferrari Dino) Remember them both well. An older aunt had a Karman Ghia. Were cool, but with only a 40hp VW engine, not really sporting. I like that Audi 100 Coupe S. Never saw one before.
"Bitter CD" is jest like De Tomaso Mangusta" ...I am suspicious about this one....
Porsche straight 6? Did I miss something???
In brasil GM OPALA DIPLOMAT
Engine 6L or 4L
E24🙆🏻♂️🤩👍🇭🇷
BMW E24
