Thanks so much man! All of the other videos missed the steps where you need to apply pressure to circular hinges at bottom of glove box, small but important detail.

Have to give you hands down for a great detailed video. I’m a woman who’s been pretty independent and always keep good maintenance on my vehicles. I wanted to let you know that I did exactly All the steps and used the same cabin air filter from auto zone on my 2011. Works like champ!! Thanks again, you’re amazing!!!

This looks pretty easy i bought the filter a while back but then the summer hit and it was too hot out side to work on this. now its cooler finally . those clips can be a little tricky i will try this and get it changed out . Thanks again ~
Good video. Got the new filter installed. But when it came re-attaching the side clips I ran into problems. I just couldn't get the clips to stay in place. Once I determined that I had indeed accomplished the task and subsequent movement of the glove compartment would cause the clips to pop back out. Finally, I just gave up and left them not re-attached. With only the tension cable attached. The glove compartment seems to work just fine without the clips. So, am I missing something here or will I continue to be OK with just the cable attached?
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders I have a 2013 Chevy Cruse LT. I am pretty sure there were no plastic inserts in the affected area. I am also sure I have positioned the clips correctly on the sides of the glove compartment. ( i.e. the square holes) The slits on the clips don't appear to fully engage with the edges of the square holes on the glove compartment sides. I applied some pressure (but not too much) to try and fully engage with the edges. Nonetheless, the sides of the clips that are visible to the inside of the compartment seem to be lying flat. But again, any movement of the glove box at this point results in the clips easily popping out. At a loss? Any ideas?
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Well as it turns out, the clips were finally installed without popping out. So far at least. The remedy, as mentioned in your video, was to raise the glove box to a certain level while applying pressure to the clip against the glove box. Kind of a tight two-handed maneuver but I kept at it. Still not sure what use these clips are. As stated earlier, the glove box seemed to function just fine with just the cable attached.

Well, now I know what happened to that 1/4 ounce of weed I couldn't find. 😅 Looked like a bunch of weed when he opened the door for the filter. My buddy bought a vehicle from a police auction several years ago. He was changing the cabin filter and found a 1 pound vacuum packed package of really good weed. Lol. The cops somehow missed it or weren't looking for it.
Awesome video with great step by step details. I was able to change mine (it was packed with leaves 🤦🏻♀️) cleaned out all debris/leaves the best I could & got the glovebox back on. But now when I turn on the AC now, there’s a very loud motor sounding noise.. Do you know what that could possibly be? thx
Need a new blower motor yes the old one can be cleaned out but for the amount of labor your pay for the removal to clean it out you should just pay for a new one. That's what happens when you dont change your cabin filter
Thanks for watching & good morning, we are drinking our morning coffee answering any and all questions for the DIY community. It’s possible however not common. Your AC system may need a refrigerant recharge or your AC compressor may have failed. You think THAT filter was very, very dirty.... You should see mine..... Thanks to my crackhead neighbor I had a family of mice living in my car and leaving thier peanuts and peanut shells in my engine.... Crazy neighbor throws bags of shelled peanuts all over the yard, do the mice store them in my car. Last year it nearly caught fire be sure the dried peanut shells got hot enough to start smoldering and smoking while I was driving. That's how I found out I had mice, after seeing the smoke and popping the hood I saw peanut and acorn shells EVERYWHERE....

Thanks for watching, any update? Depending on the year of Cruze, you might have plastic inserts for the clips to lock into.

Thanks for the follow up, that’s odd…🤔
You have ensured the two rear stopping clips are installed correctly…?

Mine is doing the same. Worked fine until I replaced my cabin filter. Now a loud motor sound when I turned on my AC. 😟
Much easier if you leave the tabs in and just bend the sides in.
