The dropshot you hook it through the nose, theres a knot for dropshot too you can learn, quite simple knot to learn. Its also a way of lire fishing, you have to slowly fish it and jig it a little to give lure some action. You want the lure to slowly bob in the water, great way to find shoals of fish.
You can tell what a fish is eating by its crushers. If they are sharp they are eating mostly fish, and if they are dull they are eating crawfish/shell fish.
i never knew this! makes perfect sense though! the catfish i get in the creeks always have much duller teeth than dam fish. the first time i lipped a spillway blue cat i couldn’t believe how sharp the upper patch was.
Try fishing for carp take a can of corn, can of Panko bread crumbs, and strawberry jello mix it all in a bucket then take a small hook put two or three pieces of corn on the hook put 2 small split shots on 8 inches up from the take handful of the bait and put the hook and sinkers in the bait pack it and throw it out with your hand as far as you can hold your rod tight you could also catch a catfish have fun. I love the curiosity of different rigs. But I’ll just give some friendly tips. When you drop shot try to find weights with loops on the tops I prefer baitcasting weights but the bank sinkers are good too. As for the dropshot hook and lure you hook the lure through the nose as if it were a live minnow and retrieve either slow or fast with twitches and jumps. Other than that you got the right hooks and baits.

Absolutely! I just have to figure out how I want to do that… I use my phone to record “portrait” mode so I can post on tiktok and insta.. it’s convenient only having one video to edit instead of 2 lol
#6 mosquito hooks with roboworms. bright colors for low visibility, natural colors for clear water. With drop shot rigs, you want a slowish retrieve, you can lightly bounce your sinker along the bottom, so your lure looks like it's swimming in an injured way. It's definitely not a "bait-n-wait" set up. That approach is usually reserved for, well, bait (stuff that is alive, like worms, meal worms, etc). If the lure is artificial, it means you're supposed to retrieve it in some way, because it's the "action" of the lure that attracts the fish, not the scent.

I've caught two, I think they gotta be kinda hungry. One was a 6 pound channel that I KNOW was hungry (grandpa's pond), and the other was maybe a pound, pound and a half yellow cat out of the lake. Only thing I can say for an inline is that they catch about everything. Bass, sunfish of any variety, Catfish, Crappie, I've managed a Spotted Gar once, and they make Musky spinners but I live in Texas sooo.... Yeah Also if the creator of the video sees this, try the Mepps - Black Fury. I pretty much only use the dressed treble version with the yellow dots on the blade and the hook will have grey/brown hair as well as a thin bit of red that stick out a little further past the rest of the tail. Great for imitating a bleeding fish, the pumpkinseed in my local river cannot resist it
@@williamconnally329I used to fish almost exclusively with mepps rooster tails for bass, when I was a kid. They do catch everything. Old school but awesome lure. Tempted to break one out for a video & try to catch some bass. Haven’t used a mepps in many many years.
@@dinkdangler I'm 23 so definitely closer to being a kid but I've only been fishing for a year now. I can say that they caught enough fish to keep me satisfied with the whole thing and not quit before I learned how to use other baits properly. I also noticed that fish in my local lake will actually go for a Mepps, maybe they see too many of the Wordens ones or the old sheisters. All I can say is as far as in-lines go, that's what I stick with and sometimes a few I've made myself. If I'm not bassin', I'll pull one out and try to have a multi-species day
