    Goodness, you're the only inkscape tutor I can stand listening to! I'm trying to bookmark you so that you're the only one I go to, I keep having to watch the same video over and over, but that's okay!

    I downloaded the program out of necessity after trying a couple of others and your tutorial on curved text was the most straight-forward and easy to follow (and not bloated with info) that I came across. Cheers!

    A whole new world has opened up to me!! Thanks for demystifying inkscape for me!! clear and concise instruction just what I needed. downloaded inkscape ages ago and haven't got to grips with it from written manual etc. Want to use it in conjunction with my electronic cutter so svg files on inkscape will be great. thanks again.

    Hi Troy, I watched your video on adding a shadow layer and it worked perfectly. Now I am trying this one and for some reason I cannot get it to put a circle on the page. When I click the circle button and hold the shift control keys it add a square with nothing in it. What am I doing wrong?

    The default way to "slide" the text along path is using [Alt + left/right arrow key] (precise) or [Alt + Shift + left/right arrow key] (faster).
    But this is not a best design, because I already bind former one to something else with my OS, and the horizontal letter shifting adjust button on toolbox have a max limit "100px", which is not sufficient for bigger text.
    Thanks for tutorial anyway.

    Troy, first, thank you very much for making these videos. They have helped me tremendously. I am actually starting to branch out and do some creations on my own. I do have a question about text around the curve. Let's say I need the text to be on the top from left to right on the outside of the curve....no problem. The next text needs to also go from left to right, but it is on the bottom of the curve or circle. You can flip the text to be on the inside of the curve, but how do you, or can you get that text on the outside of the circle? What I have been doing is making my circles bigger in order to get the text on the bottom of the circle to fit. I believe this was asked about 3 months ago, however I did not see an answer. Thank you again for your videos. They are very helpful.

    Thanks, I have the words curved correctly now but I can't get it to break away from the circle. If i move the circle the words move to, even though they aren't sitting on the circle. I am trying to help a friend make tags but I am missing something. TIA

    Fantastic video thank you so much, I am trying to do the same thing with a cursive font (Samantha) I am having problems with the lettter's not being joined up (hope that makes sense) How do I get around this problem?

    • @TroyTube
      @TroyTube  8 років тому +1

      +Nicky Wood What you want to do is pay attention to the spacing (kerning) that I show you how to adjust. Use the ALT + the left and right arrow key between each letter to adjust the spacing. Once you put the words on a path that's curved like that it will space them funny depending on whether it's on the inside or outside of the curve.
