A.I. was a movie that Kubrick started, but died before he could finish it. Spielberg came in to finish it, and it's largely regarded as a big expensive failure. Bay was the person who made the most recent Ninja Turtles movies, where it's more like a horror movie.
AI after being taken over by Spielberg was completely changed. Over half the movie was already filmed and Spielberg threw everything Kubrick filmed out to revision it as a happy ending story. Kubrick was also signed on to direct the Ninja Turtle movie but never got to start them. There was a lot of people against Kubrick doing the TMNT cause he wanted to change it to them being space aliens instead of mutant turtles. Hitchcock's "Cropduster Scene" from North by Northwest was groundbreaking in the way it was shot. Fawned over by critics and film school teachers for years. "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" was a syndicated prime time tv show with curated short films hosted by Alfred Hitchcock Quentin Tarantino made Samuel Jackson a household name with Pulp Fiction. Jackson was already an actor, and played supporting roles in many movies, but pretty much known as "Oh yeah, that guy!" until he started working with Tarantino. Kubrick was originally put in charge of writing the screenplay and directing "AI", and was experiencing a lot of health issues. He asked Spielberg for help making it, but unfortunately, Spielberg didn't until Kubrick died. Spielberg didn't understand a lot of the notes involved with the movie, so he just rewrote half of it. The movie had mixed reviews because it seemed disjointed.
AI was a movie that Kubrick gave to Spielberg because he thought he’d be better at directing it, but it turned out to be a huge failure. Furthermore the TMNT was a film that Michael bay directed and was met with massive backlash. Also Bruckheimer and Bay worked together a lot, which is what bay meant when he said “no bruckheimer, I work solo”
14:39 II first saw this ERB like six hundred years ago when it first dropped and TO THIS DAY sometimes I just mumble Bay's bars in the morning while I make coffee. His verses have given me laughs just like that reaction for years. It's weird. Seeing someone else find that moment as entertaining as I do is nice. The internet is weird.
If memory serves correctly, bay worked with bruckheimer on The Rock (rose from The Rock line) and then took off on his own. If you catch it, all the directors slammed Bay which is why he came in.
Spielberg: calls Bay a schlep Hitchcock: criticizes Fox’s acting in Transformers, a Bay movie Tarantino: call Bay a sellout lol Kubrick: criticizes how poorly Bay handled TMNT
The crop dusting bar is a reference to a famous scene in the movie North by Northwest where Cary Grant is being chased down by a crop duster. "Hitchcock when he presents" a reference to an anthology TV show called Alfred Hitchcock Presents where he hosted each episode similar to Twilight Zone with Rod Serling. AI was a movie directed by Spielberg that starred Haley Joel Osment as a robotic child.
He made her do that scene so many times just to get an act of pure rage captured in her performance. When the axe came through the door he also never informed her so that he would see her genuinely frightened for that scene
Bruh PLEASE you're killing me with this video here! "What's your favorite Sam Jackson part? What's his name from Jurassic Park." Jeff Goldblume? IT HURTS!
@@whatitdodave Ahem. History lesson time. Spielberg directed the film AI, which was an idea Kubrik had before his death. The ninja turtles line was another jab at Bay, all four of them made one.
The kubric reference to clockwork was to clockwork orange . of 1971 a verry verry violent movie . But also a masterpiece of its time . turned in to a cult movie.
Amblin is Spielberg's movie production company. The group has back films like Jaws and ET of course, but then other successful movies such as the Back to the Future trilogy. War of the Worlds is a pretty awful remake. Kubrick was well known for making actors do so many takes that some of them started to lose their marbles trying to work with him. Kubrick actually holds a world record for making two actors do 147 retakes of the same scene with dialogue in the Shining making it 148 versions of the same scene. Jerry Bruckheimer worked quite a bit with Spielberg as a producer.
A.I. is a poorly received Stephen Speilberg movie. The ninja turtles reference is for the Michael Bay movies which were also poorly received. Long story short, they're hating really hard on Michael Bay and rightfully so.
That early stanza of Spielberg's where random words are capitalised is actually referencing both Spielberg and Hitchcock films: Duel, Psycho, Jaws, Lifeboat, Always, Vertigo, the Terminal and Murder! are all movies one of them made. And you noticed that as soon as I mentioned it.
I saw into the future and seen your comment 😂. Somebody tipped me off in my last erb reactions about how they capitalize important references. It’s very helpful!
The "crop duster scene" was a scene from a Hitchcock movie called "North by Northwest" where Cary Grant is running away from a crop duster. And Amblin is Spielberg's movie production company.

Michael Bay does his own film /photography. The craziest thing I saw was during one of the shots where someone was hanging out of a helicopter, they had another line that Bay was hanging from with the camera. So he's right up in there filming himself instead of hiring somebody else to do the camera. So eyes of an eagle, since he sees the scenes he wants to make himself
Hey Dave did you also know that Stanley Kubrick drove a woman to insanity in one movie because he was a perfectionist because he repeated the exact same scene with her 127 times even in his raps he says that and the worst part is that all Kubrick says is true!
So many references...Amblin is Speilberg's production company. Hitchcock Presents is the tv show he did for many years, with him turned sideways as in the rap with the roundness well presented....and Kubrick, omg.
12:41 A.I. Is a movie, same with the Ninja Turtles (although I don’t know how many moves the latter would have right away) I believe Kubrick was meant to direct both of them if not just A.I., but the movie/movies changed directors
I was a bit shocked that you didnt know his name which is linked to Star Wars above all other (really greatly scored movies)! Im glad that you did the research as well. As a professional film composer , so many people (professional and non) and many fans of Spielberg and Lucas all know John Williams. Probably one of the most prolific and sought after composer Hollywood has known. (Who incidentally retired after that last Indiana Jones movie)
The crop duster scene is a famous scene from Hitchcock’s North by Northwest where the hero is chased through a field by a bad guy in a crop duster plane. A.I. was a Steven Spielberg movie. I saw it. It was really long, really sad, and really boring. It’s about a family that adopts an android boy after their son ended up in an unending coma, but then the son wakes up and they abandon the android and it’s really sad.
Samuel L. Jackson was in the first Jurassic Park movie(which was was a steven spielberg movie) however his part(the scientist/computer guy) was so small and unmemorable that many people forget that he played in the movie.
Spielberg invented the summer blockbuster with Jaws. It wasn’t his intention, but afterwards every studio tried to release a high-budget movie in summer
The terminal is a movie by Spielberg. Starring Tom Hanks. A great movie. About a man stuck in a airport terminal due to an asshole and improper identification.
I like how you were about to look up Hitchcock presents until you realized it was the guy rapping. Seriously though, good reactions, I've watched at least 8 of yours so far.
'Murder!' is a Hitchcock movie from 1930. 'Duel' is a Spielberg movie from 1971, which got him on the radar of Hollywood. The Sam Jackson reference is about his role in 'Jurassic Park', which is forgettable, as opposed to the one in 'Pulp Fiction', in which he has some of the best dialogues ever made. 'I make you learn to love me I'm the bomb' is a reference to the movie 'Dr. Strangelove or How I learned to love the Bomb' from 1964. 'drop ultraviolent rhymes' is a reference to the movie 'Clockwork Orange', in which the protagonists and his friends commit a series of what they call 'ultraviolent' acts for fun. The mention of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' (in addition to the puns by the other directors) is a way to bring in Michael Bay, who made the movie of that name in 2014. On a side note: You just HAVE to watch all the movies you were mentioning, especially the first 3 Indiana Jones movies, 'Pulp Fiction', and 'Clockwork Orange'. You're missing out, brother! PS: Watch Michael Bay dancing in the credits after the raps are done. Got me rolling when I saw it the first time. :)
My man didn’t fucking know the name John Williams? I genuinely think that’s more absurd that not knowing about the _Beatles._ He composed every Spielberg movie (Jaws, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones), all nine main Star Wars movies plus the Solo movie, and the first three Harry Potters. He’s considered almost universally as the one of the greatest composers in history, and has practically received at least one award nomination per film composition since the 70’s. The only person to have been nominated for more Academy Awards is _Walt fucking Disney._
don't let anyone make you feel bad for liking Indy 4. I grew up with the original films, and even had the chance to see The Last Crusade in theaters when it first premiered, and i still liked the film.

Quentin Tarantino made Samuel Jackson a household name with Pulp Fiction.
Eye of an eagle refers to a movie called Eagle Eye with Shia LaBeouf. Its described to be Michael Bay inspired in style
It’s a wild movie tbh
14:39 II first saw this ERB like six hundred years ago when it first dropped and TO THIS DAY sometimes I just mumble Bay's bars in the morning while I make coffee. His verses have given me laughs just like that reaction for years. It's weird. Seeing someone else find that moment as entertaining as I do is nice. The internet is weird.
If memory serves correctly, bay worked with bruckheimer on The Rock (rose from The Rock line) and then took off on his own.
If you catch it, all the directors slammed Bay which is why he came in.
Spielberg: calls Bay a schlep
Hitchcock: criticizes Fox’s acting in Transformers, a Bay movie
Tarantino: call Bay a sellout lol
Kubrick: criticizes how poorly Bay handled TMNT
When Spielberg said he produced cartoons for all ages he is referring to the Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles
no, he was talking about tiny toons, animaniacs and pinky and the brain.
Bruh PLEASE you're killing me with this video here! "What's your favorite Sam Jackson part? What's his name from Jurassic Park." Jeff Goldblume? IT HURTS!
😂
@@whatitdodave And then ya had to look up who Kubrik is?! You don't look THAT much younger than me...
That Amblin line was Spielberg referencing his own company, Amblin Entertainment
Kubrik’s A.I. Line was referencing how bad the Ninja Turtles live action movie was
Amblin is Spielberg's movie production company.
10:12 I like how they put Kubrick in space since so many people ( conspiracy theorists) think Kubrick filmed the space landing
"Alfred Hitchcock Presents" was a TV show where his profile was part of the brand.
The crop duster scene was from the film North by Northwest where Cary Grant was getting pursued by a crop duster plane in a field.
Cropduster scene - Hitchcock's movie was North By Northwest (famous for a cropduster scene).
"Got Milk" money referring to Bay directing the milk commercials in the 90's
I homely prefer when reactors research to understand the bars, i don’t get them all so it’s great when you research them too
Fun Fact: Michael Bay directed a Got Milk? commercial in 1993 which is why he says "of that got milk money" line
A.I. is a poorly received Stephen Speilberg movie. The ninja turtles reference is for the Michael Bay movies which were also poorly received. Long story short, they're hating really hard on Michael Bay and rightfully so.
"Why should half his billions go to him?"
"Jaws, empire strikes back"
Instantly gets why he should get half
HAHAHHAHA! I friggin' lost it when you said "this is my rifle, this is my gun"!!!! HAHAHAHA!
4:54 looking at his pictures, he really is just making 2 faces between all of them
AI was a Spielberg film with the kid from Sixth Sense. The Ninja Turtle reboot was produced, or directed by Michael Bay.
Hitchcock Presents was a show Hitchcock presented (heh) back in the old days.
Yeah, Bruckheimer does action movies, but I think my favorite work of his is the TV show Lucifer, where he's Executive Producer.
You may have done a bunch of studying and searching but this is one of the most entertaining reactions I've seen. You're loads of fun. Btw, curious to know. Have you heard music from Eminem's Musuc to Be Murdered by original disk and side-B? If not, do I have done suggestions for you.
I like the second guys the most his flow was really cool
"I'd be swinging that bat for real" fing killed me
Spielberg's early bars were references to his and Hitchcock's movies. He took turns. "Duel" - Spielberg film, "Psycho" - Hitchcock film, "Jaws"- Spielberg, "Lifeboat" - Hitchcock, "Always" - Spielberg, "Vertigo" - Hitchcock, "Terminal" - Spielberg, "Murder!" - Hitchcock.
12:30 the Haley Joel Osment movie, A.I. he's saying that movie, and the Ninja Turtles movie were both a waste of time.
Spielberg also made a movie called Terminal. Amblin is Spielberg's production company.
Man if I had a nickel for every bar that was missed or misunderstood I'd be richer than Bill Gates.
I would like a share of that money please. I thought I did pretty ok for a guy with almost zero film history knowledge. Dr Google came through!
@@whatitdodave I actually prefer when reactors go in more blind. There are only 2 reactors I expect to be well versed in any battle, but the blind ones are fun.
Thanks Dave
So many references...Amblin is Speilberg's production company. Hitchcock Presents is the tv show he did for many years, with him turned sideways as in the rap with the roundness well presented....and Kubrick, omg.
Amblin Entertainment, usually has Elliot and E.T. flying past the moon as a logo.
Amblin sounds like ambling = walking
Researching Spielberg, SO many of his movie were composed by John Williams. Goat
12:41
A.I. Is a movie, same with the Ninja Turtles (although I don’t know how many moves the latter would have right away)
I believe Kubrick was meant to direct both of them if not just A.I., but the movie/movies changed directors
the crop duster reference is to a scene in an alfred hitchcock movie. the Murder is from the movie Dial M for Murder
John Williams composed the scores for Spielberg's biggest films. Probably the greatest film composer in history.
Michael Bay did those old "Got Milk?" commercials
I was a bit shocked that you didnt know his name which is linked to Star Wars above all other (really greatly scored movies)!
Im glad that you did the research as well. As a professional film composer , so many people (professional and non) and many fans of Spielberg and Lucas all know John Williams.
Probably one of the most prolific and sought after composer Hollywood has known. (Who incidentally retired after that last Indiana Jones movie)
Eagle Eye is a Shia Lebouf movie about the government watching citizens with a machine
Bay used to work for Bruckhiemer, and left his shadow to be his own director
You should so check out some Hitchcock movies. Psycho is the first slasher. Hitchcock Presents was a tv show like Twilight Zone
When Hitchcock turned to the side, that’s how "Hitchcock Presents" started - I think he walked in, and he turned into a silhouette.
The I got milk money is a reference because he made the OG Got milk? Commercial
Kubrick was the mad scientist of hollywood movie directors.
crop duster scene was from north by northwest 1 of my fav hitchcock movies
Man I love ur vids. But as a film buff all the punch lines that flew over ur head in this one got me raging 😅😂
The terminal is a movie by Spielberg. Starring Tom Hanks. A great movie. About a man stuck in a airport terminal due to an asshole and improper identification.
Ai was movie he was going make but passed away and Spielberg finished it
Kubrick did A Clockwork Orange!! Master Piece.
he said the billions should go to john williams because he composed the music for a lot of steven spielberg's films
Yeah, Amblin Entertainment is Spielberg's production company.
Tarantino's name was on the chair he was sitting in when he joined in.
I like how you were about to look up Hitchcock presents until you realized it was the guy rapping. Seriously though, good reactions, I've watched at least 8 of yours so far.
Damn.. Kubrick' beat is one of the best I've listened on a ERB.. the harmony there is killer
I genuinely think that’s more absurd that not knowing about the _Beatles._
He composed every Spielberg movie (Jaws, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones), all nine main Star Wars movies plus the Solo movie, and the first three Harry Potters.
Dave stopping to look up Hitchcock immediately before Tarantino says look it up made me laugh far more than it should have
Amblin is a reference to the production company Amblin Entertainment that he started alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall
I could understand if Alfred Hitchcock had Chicklophobia, the fear of cracking open an egg and having a chicken coming out of it but an actual fear of eggs?.
