    Looks good. Hope they release a Log profile for the camera.

      Yes I hope too.
      There was a log profile when I bought it few month ago. But idk why they delete it in the first firmware update. I haven't tested it 🥲.
      Maybe they will reintroduce it un future updates ( I hope ). Morehover, the biggest problem with Moonlight camera is his colors gesture so Log can easily solve this problem, you'll just have to add LUT un post-production.

    Je suis intéressé par tes réglages. Je pense qu'il faudrait un filtre polarisé pour réduire la brillance du soleil. Sur walksnail le ciel est souvent saturé, c'est complètement cramé on voit peu le bleu du ciel, sur DJI O3 la colorimétrie est meilleur, mais je pense qu'ont peux améliorer ça côté walksnail.

    • @Willy_FPV
      @Willy_FPV  Місяць тому

      @@tomshaa391 Perso je pense que la caméra à un dynamic range trop faible et une colorimétrie qui est tordu surtout avec une saturation faible ce qui rend les color-grade assez compliqués. La colorimétrie peut être améliorée via le firmware mais le dynamic-range ( qui cause cette sur saturation/exposition du ciel ou dans le cas inverse des zones sombres complètement noirs ) dépend malheureusement du capteur et obligerait Walksnail à devenir une nouvelle caméra 🫤

    Very nice, can you share your settings. So far after only a couple of flights it is an oversharpened mess.

      Sorry I miss your comment 😅
      My settings are :
      FPS - 60
      Shutter speed - auto or manual (depends of the ambient light and ISO value) I prefere manual and adapt to the light before flight
      ISO - auto or 200 (depends of the ambient light) It's better to lock ISO at 200 ant adapt the shutter-speed in consequence to prevent noise
      EV - -0.3 (depends of the ambient light)
      WB - 5400k (or between 5200 and 5600, what you prefer)
      Saturation - 6 (best colors in my opinion)
      Sharpness - 2 (prevent noise)
      3D DNR - off
      If you want any other thing you can ask ( I'll try to be faster this time ) 🙃

    • @Willy_FPV
      @Willy_FPV  4 місяці тому +1

      @@sinematric Maybe the dynamic range of the Moonlight is too thin, you can try with a lower shutter speed and with ISO lock at 100, ( and without ND filter maybe ).
      But in some conditions it's possible that the camera can't support the difference between high and low lights.
      I haven't try alot the Moonlight in midday situation ( wich is one of the harder for cameras cause the differences of lights between sky and shadows is heavy so the shadows will be noisy or the sky can be completly white ) If you can't have good quality in both sky and shadows, you will probably have a choice to do :
      - high shutter speed + high ISO = good sky / noisy shadows
      - low shutter speed + low ISO = clean shadows / white sky.
      But I'm not 100% sure of what I'm saying, as I've say before, I haven't tested the Moonlight alot 😕

    • @Willy_FPV
      @Willy_FPV  4 місяці тому

      @@sinematric You can also try to reduce noise by color-grade the video ( change sharpness and low-lights / black level )
      It's not very profesional but it can work 😅

    Have you noticed any reflections in your recordings while using an ND filter? I keep having an issue with mine. I even bought a new ND16, and same issue. It's easiest to spot while flying under a tree, in the shade, or any spot with different lighting conditions.

    • @Willy_FPV
      @Willy_FPV  2 місяці тому

      @@Greg__K No, maybe I just doesn't pay attention to it, but I think I haven't seen this phenomenon. Even when I fly without recording, just chilling with the drone I never see this 🤔. You don't have the problem without ND ?

    • @Greg__K
      @Greg__K 2 місяці тому

      @@Willy_FPV Only with the ND filters on I get a reflected image. Both the ND8 and ND16 have the same issue. It really is odd. I also made sure that the filter is fully seated on the camera as well.

      I've been going back and forth with the support guy over at Caddx, it's been pretty frustrating. He told me to check video settings and that it's a smudge on the lens... so not helpful in the slightest. That's why I've been trying to message people on YT instead. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

      @@Greg__K Hmm 🤔, sorry, I don't know why it do that 🙁, the only thing you can do is try an other brand of ND filter bu ti can be expensive. Or you can try to adjust in color grade but it is often hard 🫤

      @@Willy_FPV Thanks for getting back to me. I was thinking the same with a different brand, just kind of a headache. I think it has something to with the coating after researching why you would get a reflection like that.
      I'll probably just use it as is, beat it up as a freestyle quad, and eventually get a thumb pro or something like that. I'm really disappointed with Caddx's support on this one, because otherwise it's really nice.
      I've been using your video as a reference btw. Love how yours turned out.

      I have the RunCam Thumb Pro... Tested it and loved it. It's extremely light, small, a lot of settings. The only default for me is the stabilisation with Gyroflow which is a bit hard. Howover its a very good camera for drones from 2" to 7" 🔥

      @@sWetPlays To do a firmware update, you just have to put the update file in your SD card, plug the SD card into the record board, use the little cable ( 2cm long with 3 white and 1 black wire ) an plug it from the top plug ( VTX board ) to the bottom plug ( record board ) of the Moonlight as shown in the schematics. Then you power up the Moonlight and it should be good 👍

    Did any new firmware fix it?

    • @Willy_FPV
      @Willy_FPV  5 місяців тому

      No, this is an old firmware (the first official release for the Moonlight) if I remember correctly 😅
      Personally I have always found the image very sharp in vegetation (so much so that it sometimes generates luminance noise) but otherwise I have always had this result.
      Perhaps the fairly low sharpness and slow shutter speed helps with this sharpening effect 🤔
      What I find quite unfortunate is the color calibration of the Moonlight which I find very complicated to use in color-grading. The image turns purple when increasing the saturation 🫤
