@@steqal I have an Insta360 X2 but I thought that was a bit much for a first ride. I do intend to do some filming but a day without rain would be nice, it's either that or blowing a gale.
All your points are spot on ! Great wheel even if you are like me just driving it casually and not pushing it, very powerful. The V11 at one point was good enough for me, but after the Master...im all set. No more suspension wheels , no more wheels for me period for a long time. This satisfies every itch (suspension, speed, stability) This is perfect video to share out for those who might be interested in the Master. And it is good to protect your neck, nothing wrong with that!
Haha yea that 16mph alarm gets us all! You'll get used to the height when mounting. Are you riding in hard mode, mode 3? I think medium is better suited for this wheel, it allows you to access the torque better and I dont really feel pedal dipping as much. I usually ride my wheels in hard mode but this one feels better in medium. .. Highly recommend to learn seated riding on this wheel. Its the best one I've found to learn on and will open up seated riding for you on all wheels. Its a great tool for that. Yeah thats about right on range, I'd say plan your long rides at 35-40 miles max, you'll make it but be at the bottom of the battery. Glad you like it! Its a lot of fun to ride. 😁
Thank you for your comments, yes I was riding hard mode. Funny enough I have just downloaded a seat for it from Thingiverse that I can 3D print, he says the extra height helps with the seated riding. I haven't done any seated riding up to now. When I looked I'd actually done 17 miles and not 13, I forgot that I 'd pressed on further than normal. It's funny but you know quite quickly if you made the right purchase or not, and I'm confident that this wheel is going to be a good one. I will try medium mode, for sure.
@@Roskellan Whats really nice about seated riding on the master is that it moves effortlessly, like accelerating when seated. When I ride seated on my Commander, I have to really lean into it and push forward to maintain my speed. With the master, you just sit down and it really wants to go forward! Dont let it become a crutch though, I see some people learn seated and then never stand up again! lol. Its great for taking a small riding break to rest your feet, without having to stop.... Learning seated feels kinda of bad at first, but its good once you get the hang of it. Turning will feel sketchy, but stick with it! Its a great ability to have. Shifting your weight like that improves your skills for sure.
@@CrunchyTire I like your points and that is very helpful advice. I struggle to ride seated on Master for somereason, but it is due to needing more time with it which I have not dedicated much to. A seat attachment will be helpful , like the clarkpad seat which adds almost 2-3 inches of padding from the base seat. 2023, THE year I master the MASTER lol
@@WILSONsHobbies Keep practicing you'll get it. I would say dont bother starting from a seated position, the hardest part is the transition from standing to seated. Once you get comfortable with that the rest comes easier imo. I used a grassy field to get the hang of the transition. Once I had that I went to the street. Learning to transition in the street is scary because its fast and you pick up speed too easily, so the grass keeps your speed slow. Then you can move to the street with your new transition and practice turning corners. You want to use the area between your balls and butt to control the wheel 🤣. You really want to arch your back at first when you are transitioning to seated, like a twerking motion lol. Once it clicks it really clicks, like learning to ride EUC..
I'm going to have a lot of fun with this wheel I'm sure. I can tell because I can't get the smile off my face :-) Please convey my thanks to Andrew for getting me up and running.
Thanks for the video. What was your previous wheel? I have the V11 currently and are looking to upgrade to one of the newer EUC's. What were the other wheels that were strong contenders prior to making your decision on the Master? Thanks again. Stay safe!
I have x2 Ninebot One E+ (learnt on one of those), a 16X and an S18. Prior to buying the Master I was considering the S22 but the stator slip and poor solution to the suspension slides was enough to put me off. As it happens I'm very happy with the Master, 34 miles my last ride.
I haven't experienced the problem since changing the mode from hard (3) to moderate (2), but I should investigate a bit more I guess, and/or re-calibrate the wheel as you suggest :-) Even though I experienced the problem its a bit dodgy of me making general statements because my time on the wheel was absolutely minimal.
i dont know who you are but i love you man youre so cute hahaha good review. i just got the same euc and am laughing because everything your saying is right hahahah
hello, a nice surprise to see a review from a uk gent of a similar vintage to me! thought i was the only one! where did you get your master and what battery option did you go for? also whereabouts are you riding? im in the bristol area if you wanna meet up for a blast... how long were you riding your 16x before you got the master? so many questions... just excited to see someone like me on an euc!
Sorry missed your reply: My Master is a v3 50e battery. I ride The Lizard in Cornwall, exploring my local area venturing further and further. I learnt to ride on a Ninebot One E+, I've had the 16X for a couple of years, my S18 for around a year. Can just about ride the Ninebot backwards, the 16X a tiny bit on a good day (need some practice). On the Master, practicing mounting the thing, tight turns around sports cones, braking, steps going down (flight of three now 🙂). Latest challenge is riding greater distances, carrying a lot more kit, backpack including charger, camera's, batteries, a GPS, smart watch, and all the safety gear. Just the prep before setting off is a pain, but I think its necessary if you a long way from home.
@@Roskellan yeah I love it though it’s in pieces at the moment… replacing the inner and outer shells as well as the trolley handle… I’ve definitely put it through its paces , it’s many miles lot of off road Mtb trails have taken their toll, so it’s time to give the old girl a bit of a birthday… hope to be back up and running soon
I am shopping for my next wheel, but I am very short. May I ask you how tall the unit it? It says 25"/628mm , but I assume that is with no air in the suspension. Would you still recommend it after a month or so of owning it?
Floor to top of the saddle I measured at 67cm, but that is before I stand on it. I absolutely love this wheel, the more I ride it the better I like it. The step up to the footplate is the most demanding thing for me, but I'm getting used to it and that does offer good clearance and no pedal scraping. I have 3D printed a handle for the front (it gets annoying to release the trolley handle all the time), I have also added extra pads to the stock to assist with braking, something else I need to practice. I rode my S18 the other day (another wheel I like particularly the suspension), and it felt very light under foot in comparison, it also lacked the power. I'm not a speed demon, but up gradients the difference was noticeable. The Master with the extra weight and 20" tyre can be a cruiser if you want (I should get around 60miles in the early 20's), it feels safe and stable, to date I have had no hint of wobbles on it, though that may change as I up my speeds and get harder on the brakes. I think this wheel might be even better on a street tyre, though I have no complaints about the knobble (at 27psi anyway). Might be a bit of a beast to lift in and out of the car, my S18 being preferable but I would buy this wheel again for sure.
@@Roskellan Many thanks for your time. I also own and love the S18 and it sounds like the Master is not too much larger and a good upgrade. Now I have to decide between the RS, EX.N and the Master.
When you ride, your footplates pretty much stay level depending on what road mode you are using. Some EUC's have an unfortunate characteristic of dipping (tilting forward) after sharp or continuous turns, before resuming their original profile - (Pedal Dipping).
It's a bike horn. (eBay ROCKBROS Bicycle Bike Bell Electric Handlebar Ring). It certainly works but it is a bit intrusive, people don't like it. I normally just shout out, "hi, hello, behind you", that sort of thing.
Love this! Amazing to see older people riding! ❤
Thank you - I think :-)

It's a fun time! Glad you enjoy it. I've fully modded my suspension and it's so plush. no pedal dipping with my street tire.
Nice review, thanks !
Got about 100 miles on mine coming from a 16x. Still get some wobbles at speed but thats just me having weak legs from not riding for a while.
