Wow! Such beautiful scenes with the lake effect machine going, matching train equipment, and the depot decked out in lights. A real life Christmas card!
This video is nothing short of magical! Beautiful compilation. This immediately launched me into the holiday spirit! Thank you for braving the elements to film this.
Didn’t expect to see snow this early in arcade, for once im glad No. 18 isn’t running one of the Santa trains this year. Because it would’ve been hard and difficult cult to see in the snow, especially during the evening night after the daylight saving changes.
Love railroading in the snow!!! Crazy that they already have snow. I'm in southern New England and most of October and the first few weeks of November it was in the high 60's, low 70's most days. Had snow flurries last night (briefly), but it's been in the high 40's at the coldest.
In about 1960 or so my grandfather Frank C Wilson help get this line running with tourist service. Glad to see after all these years it is still in use. David H Wilson
I seem to remember that in that 1970 period, they had a stream engine, a Baldwin I think. I know the village historian may have a record. I am pretty sure that Harry Douglass probably did.
I love this vid ! This is out of a movie. Wish I lived there. Although I'm from Boston, I love NY railroads and hope the "BILLS" win the superbowl. They play with all their heart but get bumped at the end . Love America !!! MAGA
@@ArcadeandAttica18productions That would be the logical standin, but I doubt they would announce it to the community, so you'd have to be at the right place at the right time. That being said, let's hope things keep running as they should- Temporary "neat" standins are fun in the moment but unexpected repairs cost funds that could be furthering the railroad in other capacities. With #111, the unit needs work to even leave the yard from my understanding.
I can only hope for a return of 111. That they dig out the ash-pit in 18's bay so they can fit 111 behind 18, just to get that baby out of the elements to maybe one day be restored and back to smaller or specialty runs. I would hate to see her stuck on static display and suffer the same fate 110 has with a lopsided paint job.
Are you referring to the prison in Attica? The track has been gone north of North Java for several decades. The tourist trains generally run 7 miles to Curriers Station and return. They did have a special railfan trip that ran to end of track at North Java as well as to the interchange in Arcade several years ago. I was never there, I just know all of these facts from websites.
An armchair railfan salute to photogs willing to brave the cold and the snow and the night to bring us these great vids!
YES Absolutely !!!! THANK YOU !!!
Excellent, very atmospheric.

Those passengers got an awesome treat with the snow!
Great video!

What a GREAT video!!!
Great looking video. That little locomotive sure is mighty. It does look like a postcard.

Beautiful video! I would love to ride on that train and drink some hot chocolate!
What a blast it would be riding on this with the lake effect snow coming down
I live about an hour and a half from there and have ridden that train many times over the years.
My daughter is one of Santa's elves on the train this year

That's postcard material!
Great video, the snow really adds to the atmosphere
The backup beeper on the locomotive is a bit annoying though. 😅
That train station is postcard material!

Does anyone know what businesses the A&A still serve?
Will there ever be a time where 114 is down and the have to use 113 and 112 and possibly 111?

@CptnRetro 111 needs work to leave the yard? She's moved around the yard a few but hasn't really moved for 2-3 years, right?
@@ArcadeandAttica18productions Roughly that long. Last time I've seen it pull on its own (via photos, not In person) was in 2018.
@@CptnRetro ... yeah. What do you think the A&A will do with her when they buy a nother engine?
