    Hey frens 👋 I'm super excited to share this with you, so I really hope you enjoy it! A few notes:
    1. To celebrate the launch, some of the developers are offering discounts on their devices 🤑 These will run for a limited time:
    Noir Labs (Carver, Volume Buddy, Swiss Army Meter, Shortcut Buddy)
    Use code blackfriday10 for 10% off
    SABROI (AS Console, AS Steps)
    15% off, applied automatically
    Fors (Roulette, Superberry, Kit, Chiral)
    Use code itsfall for 30% off
    2. This is just an initial batch of some of my absolute favourite devices for the launch, but I've already got a bunch more I'm planning to add real soon, so check back every now and then!
    3. Have fun! 🥳

      Same. The creativity in Max For Live is only really seen in things like modular gear and guitar pedals. There are a very small handful of plugins that do some creative things, but most just recreate the same old garbage. Max For Live is where the good stuff is 🤩

    I have no musical ability yet enjoying meandering around my keyboard. Max4Live has been a site I visit regularly but as you say whilst there are a lot of good things on there, there’s also some not so good. Having a site where there are standards to be met has both a positive effect, developer’s strive for better, but I fear the negative is that the established go to site will suffer. Either way, that’s out of my hands and I wish you every success.

    • @ELPHNT
      @ELPHNT  Рік тому +1

      I'm hoping this is a 'rising tide lifts all boats' kind of situation. maxforlive.com is a really valuable website and it will continue to exist in the way it is now, I can hopefully just provide another venue that can complement what m4l.com has to offer.

    • @anarchopx5379
      @anarchopx5379 Рік тому

      @@ELPHNT if your site has set criteria then separating the wheat from the chaff won’t need to be done. There are hundreds of good devices on M4L but there are some that aren’t so good. Finding one that promises much and delivers little seems one of the biggest pitfalls of M4L. I suppose if people took the time to rate what they use it would be a way of seeing what’s good and what’s bad, giving future users a clue as to whether it would work for them. But very few people rate or comment as far as I can tell.
      That said I’m liking a few people’s handiwork, at the moment I rate s8jfou’s work and shall comment soonish on them.
      Like I said, good luck with the site, it may well liven things up a shade.

    I see that you have an $18 LUFs matcher. Why not the free Volume Compensator you featured before?

    • @ELPHNT
      @ELPHNT  Рік тому

      I'm guessing you're referring to Volume Buddy?
      Volume Buddy is on a whole other level and I wasn't aware of it when I did the other video (plus, I also wanted to cover something that was free).
      Basically Volume Buddy does the same thing as the Volume Comp devices, but only 1 device is needed at it works much more seamlessly.
      That said, if the free ones are working for ya, definitely no need to get something else 'cause functionally it achieves the same thing. You're just paying for a much slicker package.
      Check out the video on the product page for a good overview.

      @@alexphilipp Hey Alex 👋 Yup, like I said Volume Buddy and Volume Compensators are functionally exactly the same. I'd still highly recommend your devices for anyone looking for an excellent free option, but I think Volume Buddy does bring a little something extra to the table that makes it worth paying for - UX can make a huge difference to workflow. Having it all work inside of one device is really handy.

    Can anyone recommend me an M4L device that is like a FL Studio style Step Sequencer? Its one of the things that Ableton doesn't have unfortunately.

    • @ELPHNT
      @ELPHNT  Рік тому

      Can you say a bit about how the FL step sequencer works - I'm not super familiar. There are plenty of pretty solid M4L step sequencers, so I'm sure there's something similar.

    • @George-nx8zu
      @George-nx8zu Рік тому

      @@ELPHNT The FL Studio Channel Rack is basically the fastest workflow for drum sequencing that I've seen and all the drill/trap producers use it to start with their drum patterns. It gives you all of your drum tracks side by side and you click in 16th notes on a grid to very quickly get a basic pattern started. The closest thing I've found in Ableton is the Drum Rack in that it groups the drums together, but its so much slower because you have to draw in MIDI as opposed to just clicking into a step sequencer. Moreover, the Channel Rack is actually more flexible in the sense that you can draw in a step sequencer pattern for your 808s and Hi Hats but then move different notes up and down, whereas in the Drum Rack every sound only occupies one MIDI note so you have to drag the Sampler out of the Rack at some point into its own MIDI Track. The Channel Rack also allows you to store Patterns, so having a M4L Step Sequencer that allows you to quickly fill in 16th notes for Drums and stores different patterns would be the closest thing.

    • @ELPHNT
      @ELPHNT  Рік тому

      @@George-nx8zu The only thing that comes to mind for me right now is encoder audio's Polyrandom - encoderaudio.sellfy.store/p/sduh/
      It's intended for doing cool polyrhythmic sequencing (for which is pretty good!) but you might be able to use it in a fairly standard way too.
      I'll check out some vids of the FL sequencer to get more of an idea of how it works as well. I'll be there are probably just a few workflow/shortcut adjustments you could make in Live to achieve a similar speed of work, even without Max.
