How to replace a headlight bulb in a 2016 Chevy Traverse

- In this episode, I show you how to remove and replace the passenger side headlight in a 2016 Chevy Traverse. I also show you how much money you will save by doing this repair by yourself!

Thanks for the video. I saw another video on how to do this without removing the wheel. It worked fine but your video was more helpful in showing the location and how the parts look.
It definitely can be done without taking off the tire but I find that it was easier on me and my temperament to go ahead and take the tire off. Thanks for the comment.

Just giving you a heads up, you don’t have to take the wheel off lol if you’re replacing the passenger side headlight, turn the wheel towards the left which is away from you. Pull your two Torx screws out with a T 20 bit and change the bulb. Again, no need to remove the wheel.

I just used an Allen wrench to get the screws out. Easy as can be.
Didn't go thru all the comments and it might be covered but something you don't want to to is touch the glass of thè new bulb. These bulbs get very hot and the oil from your skin can cause the bulb to crack after it gets hot.

The auto repair shop I frequent just quoted me $128 for the exact same bulb replacement on my 2016 Traverse. They claimed that was a discount because the “Book” says it’s a 1.5 hr job.
I’m going to buy the bulb right now for $14.

Yeah, doing the high beams without significant deconstruction is a pain. Small thin hands are best, but you will need to remove the engine cowl and go through the wheel well. Best tip I saw is using a bungee cord to hold back the wheel well skirt.
That is a good idea. I’m all about finding the best way to do things.
You don't have to take the tire off you can turn it inward towards the engine and still get the same clearance

Can’t you just turn the wheel to the opposite side of the headlight you are changing.

How about the driver side
It works the same way. Take off the tire (or turn it out of the way), remove the push pins from the shell and you will have the cap to access the bulbs. Please let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for watching and if you haven’t already, please subscribe.
