Thank goodness I’m not the only one! I felt like I was going crazy when I picked this one up given how highly recommended it was on social media. Contrived plot, insta-romance, just didn’t work for me … also irked me there were only two other women in the entire book. Idk. But thanks for the honest review, subscribed :)

Thank you so much for subscribing. I’m also glad I’m not the only one. I know so many people loved this book. It is getting a Netflix adaption, it did well in the romantasy category for goodreads and I do not get the hype!

I felt like she read ACOTAR and The Mortal Instruments, put them together and made a fanfic of it (Runes on skin, Carrion also is exactly Simon and he even calls his sword Simon, like how obvious is that? The high fae and lesser fae are the same, the fated mates thing, the being able to talk to each other in their minds, all ACOTAR copy. Also the spice isn’t spice’ing! I read 500 pages for Kingfisher to say “I’m about to introduce you to all 7 Gods” for him to then do missionary for two minutes and thats it 😂 Not very likeable MC either. I won’t be reading the next one!

This is such a good comment. Thank you for saying all this. Sometimes I feel like everyone likes Quicksilver but me haha. And now that you’ve pointed it out I totally see how Carrion and Simon are similar. Also “the spice isn’t spice’ing” 😂😂😂

Subscribe!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one 😀. It seems like it's getting harder and harder to find fantasy romance books that don't drive me nuts!!!

🦋 QUICKSILVER was my first romantasy read, and I enjoyed it very much. Because I've not read anything else in this genre, my reading was not affected by the under-developed worlds nor the twisty plot. I thought the book cover was appropriate; it related to the story. I've heard other book tubers not liking it either.

I’m glad you liked it! Do you think you’ll read book two in the series?

If both zombies and vampires are undead, does that cancel out and make them either back alive or just dead-dead…?

The book was flawed but a great time! 😆 also I hate that you’re comparing it to Acotar because after reading five books in that series I can confidently say it doesn’t live up to the hype either. Atleast Quicksilver was entertaining 🤷🏻‍♀️

Glad you had a good time! You’re definitely not alone in enjoying it. I just heard about its Netflix adaptation

Finally, someone thinks like me 😂
I JUST red this book and
I m disappointed by a number of reasons.
    1) Kingfisher? seriously, that's our main leads name, seriously I mean kingslayer could be easier to even stomach but WHO HAS THAT KIND OF NAME, fisher fisher, it was so weird....I m sorry, but that name choice was in the rut and very annoying.
    2) when Our female lead stole that gorget or something from the guardian, and she knew the first thing she should do was to probably forge it, then why the hell did she went for her brother at the time!? (that was super duper stupid to say the least) like you know you need to do something badly and then you go and have a conversation.
    3) SPICE, I just feel that fisher and her bond could've been made so much more pure and beautiful if, argh, the writer just went all in on making fisher impossibly perfect and I felt myself cringing at so many points, and all in on their physical attraction, beauty could be made okay!? like just see Arron warron and Juliette. and cardan and just, you don't need some fucking scenes or explicit details, it was very unconformable.
    4) WHEN SHE TALKED TO THE GOD of chaos, like the hell men, if they bonded, their energy will distroy universes and blah blah blah, IT WAS RIDICULOUS, to say the leassst.
    5) Depth, I felt very little depth, yes some characters were written beautifully but the villains seemed to be nothing more than just annoying and destroying everything.
it was a annoying book in alot of a way, but I liked how well written it was and that the writer added ALOT OF CREATIVITY.
this book kinda screamed to be too try hard, like the writer was desperately trying to make the book as interesting as possible. that annoyed me. while I guess things wouldn't be bad If they were not so ...too much.

@@ot7saranghae124 wow these are some very good points. I am not sure why this book specifically is getting so so popular. I read Metal Slinger recently and aside from the ending of that book, I really enjoyed it. I am about 30% through Anathema by Kerri Lake and am enjoying it. It is a dark romantasy.

What's with the emojis? Someone else also said to leave some emoji. Yeah, I watched the whole video, I'm not going to search for an emoji. I was curious about this book, but as it is the first in a new series, I am not in a hurry to read it. I would rather read finished series. But I am still curious about it.

Thanks for watching and for the comment. Comment is always better than an emoji! If you’re looking for a series you might want to try the kindred’s curse saga. Or there is a fun duology by Lexie Ryan that starts with “these hollow vows” (both books are out). If you’re into paranormal, Zodiac Academy is great (you just have to get past book one and the writing gets better).

@@ashleyarden3530 Thanks. I heard about the Hollow Vows one, but the Zodiac Academy is too long. But thanks for the recommendations, I will check them out.
