Yeh, its funny how it doesnt happen much on their own channels. Same with others that are on a channel and then start their own. They forget about the humor and its what ppl like to see.
I gave up on "real tv" twenty years ago. Back when I found this channel I could tell it was a good one and I have been hooked. Relatable people, good honest stories, no fluff, no made up drama. Thanks Rory, Shawn and Mike!
In my opinion you do a great job not only managing your shop and tow company. But also do a great job managing your projects and not only completing projects but doing it in a timely manner. Your the man rory. A guy could learn a lot from you.
Both the breaking and putting back together are great reasons to watch; and everybody is a comedian in their own way... like hockey players, there's little chirps here there and everywhere
Complaining about parts seems to be petty, however is very useful. Most people would not know about these problems because they don't have the amount of hard use that Trailmater endures. It is very helpful to hear of their expertise.
I enjoy watching the Trailmater team tear apart a vehicle and put it back together. The differential parts are something I would not see otherwise. It is all very interesting.
All these years I been watching different UA-camrs change gears, this episode has some of best visuals. It’s well lit enough & clear/in focus so I can see the finer details of the insides. You guys do stuff so well.
Good video with upgrades on Mini Mater that are a big improvement and more durable for the trail recovery's. You guys are so fun to watch and the content is informative and great!
When I worked in fertilizer industry, we ran 4:10s in our trucks, pulling heavy trailers, implements, etc, and in 18 years I was there never lost a differential with at least 6 trucks running at a time. Even had field sprayers with same gears.
Rory this is my favorite channel I love seeing the shenanigans I don't look at it as braking stuff. In my opinion you are testing what will work for what you need and what won't.
I got sick of the yearly ARB seal blowout at the most critical time i needed it. Tried Ox in the front 60 and Detroit elocker in the rear 60. Getting another Ox for the rear.
Team Trailmater, you guys really need to make sure every rig is in tip top shape. You have 3 months of Competition coming and you want first place in every event. Thanks for explaining about differential gears, as many people don't understand how they are "supposed" to work.
You're spot on about the ratios Rory look at the tiny engagement areas because they can't seem to make the pinion large enough in numerically high ratios. Great content , thank you and your crew.
Of all the vacations I have taken in my life, our trip to Moab ranks at the top. Getting the opportunity to meet Rory and Shawn was icing on the cake. Sorry we missed Mike as he was on a trip to Colorado getting a transmission for Ol' Blue. Maybe next time. Thanks for being such genuine people and taking the time to let us stop in. Moab is certainly on the return to list and we can not wait to see more red rock!! Until then, we will continue to let the Trail Mater team bring Moab to us!
Mike is a hoot!!! We meet Rory and Shawn leaving with trailmator as we were getting to pull in, Mike was manning the merchandise shop because it was the week of the wedding and Rory's fiance was doing wedding stuff. My wife had went to shop the day before and Mike never did give up the dollar amount that she had spent, although all my kids and grandkids had gotten hoodies and shirts.....
This episode kind of reminds me of that old joke about being on the way to the doctor with rear end trouble and the front end started having trouble too. 🤔😏😯 When I pulled over to check I hit a stationary truck that wasn't moving. There were papers and envelopes everywhere !
Just a little tip, when getting them joints broken. Use 2 hammers one large up against the opposite side then hit it with the other, it bounces the metal and the joint just drops out.😊
Happy New Gears for Mini Mater. Nice patterns front & rear. Good break-in instructions in theory, but in the real world not gonna happen. I'm glad you pointed out what the problems are with air lockers. Happy New Years to everybody in the Trailmater Crew. Thanks for Sharing
I hope to see more of Chris helping out on the days the guys are off. I thought her camera work was fine. Great job getting Mini mater fixed up to do recoveries better without issues. I do miss seeing TM working but i can wait till summer! Awesome work guys! Happy New Years and Grears to ya!
There are so many people running 5 series gears in older Jeeps, with Dana 44 axles. They only survive because of the anemic engines. Eight teeth total, maybe 3 engaging, and smaller pinion head than the bearing diameter! Even a Dana 60, has a small pinion when running 5 series gears. I agree with you completely. It's so much better to get lower gear through a transmission or transfer case. Good video!
You guys have one of the very best channels out there! I learn something new with every video and besides that all your shenanigans make me smile. I hope you all have a safe and happy New Year.
I sure do want Trailmater Offroad to be successful - but it sure is fun to watch when you break things. Hoping 2025 is a safe and prosperous year for everyone.
Happy New Gear!!! ⚙️ 🎉
Thats funny, really had to read that a few times before I got it 😅
@@T_bizzle hahaha! Excellent!
❤👍❤
I thumbs upped it but I'm upset about it lol.
Ya beat me to it!
Shawns laugh and Mikes jokes always makes me smile.

The combined level of expertise in this shop is off the charts....
Glad to see I wasn't the only one to ring in the new year in the shop.
Happy new year to you all from Quebec Canada
Thank you Rory , Mike and Shawn for sharing this with me ! Wishing all of you and great New Year!
This is what my garage would be like if my Father was still alive!. Great to hear the banter and kidding between all the guys!
Yay for finding the right set up to make MiniMater happy.
Mike's response, hmm....I can't believe that last set didn't work out 🤣
In my opinion you do a great job not only managing your shop and tow company. But also do a great job managing your projects and not only completing projects but doing it in a timely manner. Your the man rory. A guy could learn a lot from you.
I appreciate Mike's sense of humor.
Both the breaking and putting back together are great reasons to watch; and everybody is a comedian in their own way... like hockey players, there's little chirps here there and everywhere
Happy New Year to all those who make this series so special. God bless you all. Stay Safe!
HAPPY NEW GEARS TO Y'ALL!
@14:50 Looks like a well organized shipping container was dragged miles across town and everything just mixed itself together.
😂🤣😂
Delivered by Chinook, at reasonably close range.
Santa didn't bring those warehouse shelves then!
One of my favorite channels!
Complaining about parts seems to be petty, however is very useful. Most people would not know about these problems because they don't have the amount of hard use that Trailmater endures. It is very helpful to hear of their expertise.
Never disappointed and always happy to see a new video. Thanks for the info and entertainment.
Rory showing the old pinion gear cut into the bearing depth really shows how much smaller it is ✓
Starting out in 6th… 😂
Guys who drive a MANual transmission understand just how funny that is.
You guys can make short work of challenging work for the rest of us!
I miss the out takes after thanks for watching.
This channel is awesome, all a bunch of comedians!!! It's actually nice to see a shop that does things correctly and has so much fun doing it!!!
BEST CHANNEL FOR OFF ROAD RECOVERY, BEATS MORR BY MILES
I watch them both.. but I definitely skip through MORR a lot.. lol. These guys keep the content dense and cut out the fluff..
I admire all of your mechanical skills and knowledge. Heck, there is even a little wisdom involved too! Ha!
The ratio of Educational to entertainment is off the charts! Thanks for another great episode, Happy New Gears to the Mater Team!!
It’s really impressive on how much you and your crew do with only three to four guys with fabrication, maintenance and recovery’s
Good video with upgrades on Mini Mater that are a big improvement and more durable for the trail recovery's. You guys are so fun to watch and the content is informative and great!
Good vid - I even learned things.
Hope you guys have a great 2025.
The 70-30 Loctite to gear oil mix made me smile. Thanks, guys, for producing real entertainment.
Have a great and Better GEAR.
i dont get it. is it because the ring gear was bad?
Shawn in the back ground talking had me laughing 😂
Good vid, you guys work good together, Shawn is showing his mechanical skills
When I worked in fertilizer industry, we ran 4:10s in our trucks, pulling heavy trailers, implements, etc, and in 18 years I was there never lost a differential with at least 6 trucks running at a time. Even had field sprayers with same gears.
@ 14:17 here Mikey, hold that! 👍😎✊
Mike is so funny . Because it was, coming from the front and the back .
Great work, as always, guys. We appreciate all the hard work you gentlemen put in for us to have good stuff to watch.
The nice thing about breaking "stuff" is it gives you a reason to get new tools and learn how to use them. SOooooooooooooo the rest is up to you. 👍👍
The Mike of Christmas past
Shop time is fun time. And out of the cold weather.
Happy new year to the Mater team.
Shawne's laugh is infectious!
That's funny. Those gears are so last year. You guys are so hip and so up to date with the times we're living in.
All the Mini Trailmater needs now is rear steering.😍
Now we know at least 3 of Rorys allergies... Bulls....t, drama and 5:38 gears! Happy new year to all of you! 🎉
I was not expecting just parts on the floor in that container lol that thing deserves some custom cage tubing shelfs
Made me giggle also, but we know just how busy the boys are already...
I think it all comes down to time & priorities. (We don't have the time and that's not a priority!!) That's the life story of my shop/garage...
Wohoo! Happy New Gears!
🎊🥳🎉🎉🥳
"Some things and some stuff"😂😂
Rory this is my favorite channel I love seeing the shenanigans I don't look at it as braking stuff. In my opinion you are testing what will work for what you need and what won't.
hay guys love the way you have your connex organized, looks great
I think you've got worse eyes than I do?😂
love the garage front digs and the 70-30 locktite diff fluid
I got sick of the yearly ARB seal blowout at the most critical time i needed it. Tried Ox in the front 60 and Detroit elocker in the rear 60. Getting another Ox for the rear.

Thanks for explaining about differential gears, as many people don't understand how they are "supposed" to work.
Happy New Year🎉 Those are summer teeth. Some are teeth and some are not.
That is a new one I like, must remember that!
You're spot on about the ratios Rory look at the tiny engagement areas because they can't seem to make the pinion large enough in numerically high ratios. Great content , thank you and your crew.
Look forward to your video's and all the fun you all have !!!!
Good job guys thanks for sharing looking forward to seeing more of your videos

You got a lot of paperweights there! Good show.
14:57 the organization is Impeccable! LOL!!
DC
My absolute favorite channel!!! No telling you how to do what you do best from this guy. Howdy from Logan, Utah
This episode kind of reminds me of that old joke about being on the way to the doctor with rear end trouble and the front end started having trouble too. 🤔😏😯
When I pulled over to check I hit a stationary truck that wasn't moving. There were papers and envelopes everywhere !
i dont get it. if the truck wasnt moving where were the papers?
@will.green. it must have been an Office Depot truck and when the guy hit it the contents flew out of the truck. 😏😉
“Ringing” in the New Year!
i dont get it. they werent working on the bell housing
Thanks for the humour guys! Happy New Year!🇨🇦
A new windshield for a new year. 😊
New year, new gear😂😂😂 happy new year from the UK.
Nice gear set up 👍
Another year of all this still to come, yippee
My piece of ring gear came really fast in the mail, I'm really happy with the product, it was exactly as described, five stars.
The shenanigan masters are at it again. Great video as always and if I failed to express it Happy New Year to Team Trail Mater.
Thanks for making
Keep up with the good work love watching your videos on UA-cam God bless an happy new year from new Zealand
You got a great crew there .And Heaps of humor . I gave up on air lockers and went to a electric Eaton's locker and love it .Cheers from Australia
The more contact patch the better, and im betting that motor will be alot happier. Loving mini mater.
Thanks for your time!
AWESOME!
Thank you for the great videos .
I totally expected Mike to say ¨I/you looked so young back then¨ during the intro. That totally felt like a Mike joke.
Just a little tip, when getting them joints broken. Use 2 hammers one large up against the opposite side then hit it with the other, it bounces the metal and the joint just drops out.😊
Mini Mater is back in action with new gears for the new year.❤❤❤
As always very entertaining thank you
Great to actually see the difference and the explanation between air and electric lockers.
Thanks Rory
You guys are all rockstars. Something fun, challenging, educational. Or all of the above happening all the time. Happy new year boys , keep it up !!!👍
Happy New Gears for Mini Mater. Nice patterns front & rear. Good break-in instructions in theory, but in the real world not gonna happen. I'm glad you pointed out what the problems are with air lockers. Happy New Years to everybody in the Trailmater Crew. Thanks for Sharing

Robby's wrecker is looking good fellas! To the impatient people complaining that it isn't done yet....get a job! Happy new year all!
This is the chanel that I come to get my shenanigans fix....thanks for that guys!
Great day fixing stuff...thx guys, especially Mike for the entertainment.
Happy New Year .
Nice work guys
I have learned today that I should be very glad my TJ Rubicon has low air pressure lockers. I didn’t know that was a preferable thing, but now I do.
Good info on what works! ARB staff just got a memo . God bless you and your families Aloha and amen

Have a great new year looking forward to all the adventures.
Thank you and Happy New Year
So, that was what all that pinging was about. PING, another gear tooth bites the dust.🤣
Mike, I thought the differential has an vent. If it does, then it should not pressurize unless the vent is plugged.
