    If you spray the grille of the tractor and the inside of the blower with ceramic car polish the snow won't build up as the ceramics break the water bond. It works really well on my blower. Great job!

      @@maraudermitchelliou can use that and even car wax will work in a pinch, you can also use spray wax don’t even bother wiping it off. They also make teflon spray I’ve had good luck with it, and i know an old farmer that would melt cheap candle and coat the blower
      Any of these will work great

      We had a 12hp Massey Fergason 2wd lawn tractor with a plow....a shovel was faster as it could push nothing. It had no ballast. It was a big deal as a kid when our company got a 2w dually with a plow...it was a little better than a shovel. We've come along way. Pitts thank you for supporting my channel.

    Sir, just sat here & watched you with this amazing machine in Neighborhood Hero Parts 1 & 2. I now realize why my brother wants 1! I really enjoy watching people use a snowblower & I keep looking for a front mounted 1 to go with our 20 year old tractor. Doing a task like this is
    1) Appreciated by your neighbors I see, everyone helps each other.
    2) and can be Therapeutic, just like reading a book, or a walk or UTV ride through the woods.
    If I might suggest, get a pair of yellow tinted glasses for working in the snow. I use them & I know your eyes can get tired very quickly without them. I hate that sand in your eyes feeling.
    I'll be exploring your channel more, stay safe & remember to take a break when needed.

    My dad bought a decent snow blower when I was a teenager and I was all too happy to do our house and all our neighbors every storm, dad rarely had to do a thing though he would shovel off the porches.
    May best buddy's Dad bought a nice Simplicity riding lawn mower
    when my buddy was done with their lawn, he'd either come over and do mine, or allow me to use their rider.
    IDK, maybe times have changed, but back in the 70s, all the kids did the outside work until we left home.

    As a diabetic myself, I would consider the power shovel by Toro. It can handle any depth of snow without breaking you back, or bank. Buy a second battery and places like you generator and vent area is saw you and your son digging out wouldn’t take long to uncover. Plus it’s kinda fun to use. Or another brand is the snow Joe has added wheels to help while pushing it into the snow. Good job by the way.

    Hey Pete Curt here I’ve seen other guys lift there snow blower up if the snow is taller than the blower then drive into the tall drift a few feet up too your front wheels then back up and lower the blower and then take out the rest of the drift !!
    Quick question you plug your cab beacon light into the power port inside the cab where and how do you get the wire inside the cab ??
    I was thinking as long as the ground is frozen like I’m sure it is under all those feet of snow you have gotten up there you don’t have to worry about scalping the lawn it’s hard as a rock !!
    No worries !
    Only if it was not frozen it would dig in ?
    I can’t even drive on my lawn unless it’s frozen !
    I can with my golf cart !!
    LOL !
    But not a 5,000 lbs tractor !

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  2 роки тому +2

      Curt good questions. Although lifting the blower in deep snow is less dramatic on video I think it is a great idea. I think I did that many years ago after a 3 foot storm. Thank you for the great advice. I open the rear window to route the strobe wire from the roof into the cab...I can't remember if I tuck it into the window trim to neaten the wire management up...what ever I did it doesn't bother me. Even when the ground is frozen my blower will shave the grass and some soil and blow it across the yard. The more frozen the ground the better. Most damage grows and removes prior to the first mowing. I still feel bad and don't like scalping even my lawn. Usually by the time the snow hits the ground is frozen enough to support the tractor. Curt nice to hear from you with great ideas thank you for supporting my channel.

    I Ran a Norland snow blower for over 25 years on the Willamette pass when I worked for the highway dept. The blower had two engines a 16 cylinder diesel engine that ran the blower head and a 8 cylinder diesel that ran the drive wheels and hydraulics to operate the blower . The blower head was 10 feet wide and 8 feet high. It had cutter bars on the side that cut the berm on the side of the road that were 20 feet high. Many times the snow was 6 to 8 feet higher then the 20 foot cutter bars could reach. Our regular shift was 10 hours but in a storm it wasn't uncommon to work 12 to 16 hours in a white out where you could only see a few feet in front of you . I really know how draining both physically and mentally running a blower in bad conditions. One thing I left out was how big this Norland blower was it was 35 feet long 12 feet wide and weighed 160 thousand pounds. It could throw a full boot of snow over 200 feet when you had the blower in high gear.

    Know very well how tired one can get from snow-blowing. Spent about 3 or 4 hours snow blowing recently. At first clearing / plowing the snow with my atv, and then using a snowblower (the kind you walk behind) to throw the snow further away from the road (which has edges of snow about the height of the box with the auger in, in my snowblower. Took quite a while, and all in a bit of sideways wind. And of course, when I was about done it started snowing again. Luckily it did not snow too many centimeters, so I did not have to do all the work over again. But the next day I did some research into tractors. A local dealer has a Lovol 504 50hk 4wd tractor which I would get if I had the money for it. But it costs about 3 times the price my ATV cost, and thus I would need to save up for 15 years to be able to afford it. And that is if my house do not need any big repairs during that time. So perhaps by the time I am in my sixties I may afford such a tractor. :)

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  2 роки тому +2

      Jens you worked so hard I understand I've been there. Tractor snowplowing is work but it is so much more enjoyable especially in a cab. I spent decades shoveling, tractor 2wd plowing, truck plowing, backhoe plowing, walk behind snowplowing including roofs, tractor open station blowing and cab tractor blowing. We've done it together brother. 5 years ago while blowing snow in my open station tractor wearing a snowmobile helmet snow plastered my face as the visor kept fogging and was open...instance brain freeze and pain. When I came inside covered with snow I told my wife I want a cab tractor and never looked back. No matter what we use the move snow we are in the battle together...as you've seen I join the work with my neighbors. You're probably my age lets not give up and keeping busy. I'm lucky to have you and your comment grounding me and my channel. Thank you for supporting my channel.

    Looks like your tractor barely fits inside the garage door.
    You have mentioned that you use cetane boost in your fuel and you feel the engine is running a lot better. I too occasionally use cetane boost as well in my 6.5 powered truck.
    You might want to consider trying to tank full of off-road diesel it packs a lot more energy than the on-road diesel.

I have read that the zerk is well hidden and Deere's solution is to grind a channel in the housing/casting to get at it, ---or--- drop the front axle. Greg this is the same Northeastern snow storm that hit January 17...we received 20" overnight and almost another 12" during the day. I think opening the door helped get the moisture out of the cab...and I was in the tractor so long my cloths dried off. Over 4 hours of shoveling, blowing and moving cars the machine did great. I was expecting to work this long. Another storm came 10 days later...it's been along winter. Thank. you for supporting my channel.

    I noticed when you were backing away from the garage, your snowblower continued to operate. Do you have the RIO disabled? Or did you hold down the PTO button while you were backing up? Otherwise, if you are backing up while using the mid PTO, the RIO will shut down the tractor and kill the engine.
