Damn! This was a tight ass set. Somebody arranged the shit out of the horn section. Then to top it off, that guitar solo. screamin' tasteful, with showmanship. Damn, that shit was hittin' OH......Chaka is a national treasure!
Wowww, Chris Coleman's groove on drums is always on point. Precise and funky. One of my favourite songs from Chaka. After all that she's been through, she still sounds great!
Go Chaka! I've been a Chaka Kahn fan since her days with Rufus, she still sounds great! love her voice and the band is tight! Get well soon Chaka, we love you and praying for you.
Great arrangement of a classic hit.. I hadn't seen this video before but I knew before reading the comments that that was CC on drums.. my band plays this arrangement of the song now...
This is as hip as you can get. Ouch! The Great Chaka Khan. Recorded in 2007 years after she first recorded this in the mid 1970's.she nevertheless knocked all other female singers off the stage technically and soulfully. Along with Aretha she is in that Pantheon of Great Singers. As Phil Woods, the great Alto Sax player has said: It get harder with time and age as the young ones come up. It is only the greats that can keep it up - and with hard work!. In Chaka's case she transcends the younger female singers due to soul and musicianship.
I heard chaka say that the drugs haven't changed her voice. There @ 1:35 shows that it has. Notice, she didn't even attempt to hit that part like she did back in the 70s, she knew she couldn't do it. Still a legend in my book though. HOWEVER, her daughter picked up the slack @ 3:04 LAWWWD!!

+LA Young ... she's doing it in G minor.
Verse: Gm7 - C7 Bridge: GMaj7 - Bm7 - C7 - C#dim7 Chorus G7 - C7. Outro: G7 - C7
is that her daughter on the last bridge before the chorus before they took it out?
The one that wrecked the whole set @ 3:04 is her daughter Indira. My God.... did she kill it!!
Nope. That’s Toni Scruggs! Killing it! 🙌🏽
