More 70s hugs and kisses! You folks are pretty much single-handedly bringing back that decade, even if you have to do it one leisure suit at a time! Doesn't this one have little Helen Hunt? Always good to see Miss Misery (but you might want to double check to make sure you didn't accidentally book pageant winner Miss Missouri). Start poppin' that corn!
Thanks, Troy! Actually, we did try to get Miss Missouri but she told us to take a flying you-know-what. Miss Misery heard about Miss Missouri's missive and made it her mission to correct this mishappening.
"The Spell" The movie portrays an over weight teenage girl who uses her supernatural powers to get revenge on those who maliciously taunt her. It is a 1977 made for TV movie 🍿.
It's actually a coming of age film. A baby-fat young girl struggles to come into her own womanhood. Her mother teaches her boundaries and hierarchy in society.
I loved the twist at the end, it was great!!!!. Great job everybody especially Vincent, Tangella, and Mr. Livingston. Another weekend spent with you all!!!
Looking forward to seeing Vincent, Mr. Livingston, and Tangella again on Saturday. They are all 3 my favorite treats of the week. 🐀👻 Save me seat Creature 👽 Features fans I will bring the popcorn 🍿. 🐭🙂
I'm 65 years old I had to shut this off I couldn't watch it it triggered a bad moment in my life that I had buried. I remember being sent to summer camp and everyone that I avoided me like the plague I don't know why maybe because of my red hair and I was just missing something that the other children had now I suspect it was autism spectrum
Creature Features, That spell was magical, Double host night was creepy fun, Mr. Livingston's intellect superb, Thank you, Creature Features. Tangella bringing Fang and tarot card reading , what bloody fun, Thank you Tangella.
Oh, SNAP! Can't see this one as I go off medieval reenacting and modern fishing this whole next week. Fortunately, good old Creature Features will be here when I return. Have a great time, Creatures!
I think I saw a horror movie once about some dude that went medieval reenacting and modern fishing. They caught a giant shark and found a knights suit of armor inside! Stay safe out there!
These older horror movies are great!!!! Im watching the movie (THE SPELL) GOOD ONE!!!!! I just watched the movie(THE EVIL) Very good movie as well!!! Love these old horrir movies, Thanks for the showings!!
Please tell Tangella I subscribed and I am on Creature Features T.V., and subscribed and loved and rang the bell!! I absolutely love Tangella and never would want to see her hurt or upset, she is an intergral part of this family!!! Gary Bailey KingofDarkness ❤
One of my favorite TV movies from the 70's, in fact I just watched it a couple of weeks ago, but it's always better on creature features 👻I can't wait!
01:24:18 That is so cool to see Helen Hunt at a teenager...I think maybe next is "As Good As It Gets"...a really god flick!! 01:25:00 HH is truly a gifted actress... Thank you for the upload!!You guys do great work!!
In the America of 1977, she's mocked for being the 'fat' girl in the class. In America of 2022, she'd be among the 'skinny' girls in the class. How the average American diet, health and lifestyle has changed since the 80's.... [hint: NOT for the better].
I can't believe she was considered "fat", she doesn't even look plump? She looks like a normal sized girl, regardless of the ugly & unflattering clothes (my childhood pics are so embarrassing, the styles, prints & color combos for kid's clothes in the 70's were ridiculous!)
You guys are better than magic to me! I don't even remember how I hooked up with y'all but I have been sold ever since so listen this is Sonya T from the Big D and I just want you to know Vincent, Tangella and Mr Livingston 💕 I love you guys thank you for your magic and bring Miss Misery back on sometime soon! 🙏❤️
It's wild to think she was considered overweight. In today standards that's a fairly normal size... i truly believe alot of the weight problems and physical/mental ailments today are caused by all the chemicals and hormones added to our food.
Overwhelmingly due to gross overeating & being lazy. Undoubtedly. Their prerogative you may say. Not when they're a huge drain on our health & welfare services however as they so obviously are now
All the fast food isn't really "food", it's plastic & chemicals & grease. There's no nutrition or vitamins unless they are added in and are unnatural. Between "convenience" & laziness most people are not healthy. I don't eat fast food often, but I'm addicted to pizza. 😅
During WWII there was huge progress in food preservatives. After the war, the industry didn't vanish, but the blandness needed to be covered up. That meant sugar, fat, and salt. This is part of it, anyway.
@@richardingamells7213 Actually, it's the food itself. Europe won't even allow the same stuff in their countries. When people move to the US, they gain weight. It's the GMO's, chemicals, hormones, additives and lack of nutrients. Even in the early 90's people weren't fat like they are now. The early 90's is when GMO foods came on the scene... Everyone used to be so slender. Google images of people back in the 70's, 80's and before... Google fairs, malls, etc... You'll see. It's the food.
This was a very good movie. Great acting. Everyone in this movie was acting like this girl weighed 400 lbs. Even if she did, that would be no reason to be so cruel to her. She wasn't skinny, but she wasn't fat either. I've seen beautiful plus-sized models in catalogs much heavier than Rita. Being a size 2 doesn't make a girl drop dead gorgeous either. Rita's father was a real jerk. He clearly loved Rita's sister a lot more because she was skinny. Shame on him. Helen Hunt did a great job playing Rita's bratty kid sister.
She wasn't bratty at all. She was a well adjusted sibling who held that family together, helping her mother in the house and with chores, while always being left in the shadow of her sister's attention.
Before everyone started to get fat in the 2000's, people used to be thin. Almost everyone was thin. In the 70's, there was usually only 1 or 2 overweight kids in the whole grade. The rest of the kids were skinny. Adults were slender. Chronic disease was down, too. People were active and people ate supper at home 90% of the time.
I hope this is the '77 version of a made-for-TV "Carrie' with the great Lee Grant.....If so, I plan to settle in this Saturday for some family values viewing. See you Saturday!
Couldn't stand the father and younger sister. The father showed his dislike for his daughter, then calling her fat. No wonder she felt unloved and lonely. The other sister knew she was the favorite, at least to her father. Too bad more didn't happen to them. Never pick favorites in your kids. You never know what will happen to the you don't show the same amount of love to. ❤️
Love the whole cast especially the cold cynicism and warm soulful eyes of Mr. Livingston. The writing of the openings is superlative and funny My guilty pleasure….. and dare I say wholesome and sometimes family friendly
More of this behind the scenes stuff is super-cool! I’ve been subscribed for a long time and really hope you guys get bigger and make it thru these tough times. Hopefully the economy can get back on track if “things change”.
This wasn't supposed to be a revenge film but a coming of age film where a "baby-fat" girl grows into her womanhood (sexuality) and all the challenges. The finale is the mother teaching her boundaries, self acceptable, and place Ina hierarchy. In the 1970s, as teen we got this movie wasn't about a chubby girl getting revenge. Context of culture makes a difference.
The Solo Tangella segments are great, loved the Tarot (And the dancing segments too)in this video, She could have her own UA-cam channel & I bet it would be a hit 👍
Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble. Love you all. Thank the Old,Deep, Eldritch ones for your continued genius.!
I hadn't seen this movie since the Seventies. Still. LOVE IT! Thank you so much!
The mother's style is so good! Also, the way the father can't see that he's the problem has me spontaneously yelling at the screen 😂
Thanks
Just remembered that the dad in this movie played a doctor in a movie about a deadly virus called The Andromeda Strain. Great movie.
I can't help thinking that was inspired by the movie "Kronos." If you see it, you'll see pretty soon why I say that. No spoilers here.
Haha this is such a great intro with the movie mix up. I love CREATURE FEATURES made me a subscriber. Keep this show alive.

Damn her family and school is a piece of work. She isn't even fat or chubby. Damn the 70s were brutal
She's not fat by the standards of today but she was quite fat for the 1970s.
@@thedemonnemo Even then she wasn't fat. My mom was in her 20s then and most people didn't think a woman was fat at her size, 1970s or not.
@@KatieCatWalker People would have said she was chubby or a bit overweight. Gross majority of people were slender before foods got so disgusting.
